A new year is here, and it’s that time when many people resolve to live healthier: Eating better, exercising more, and cooking healthier meals and snacks for our families. While we don’t eat 100% organic all of the time in our household, many of the foods and ingredients we purchase regularly are organic. I shop at Jewel-Osco regularly, and Jewel makes it easy to cook and bake foods that I can feel good about feeding my family.
Jewel-Osco’s O Organics® line of products is found in my area exclusively at their stores. This line is extensive and has everything from dairy to produce to grains to everything in between! You can find O Organics products all over the store, and I enjoy using them to create healthy and affordable snacks for my children.
Here’s a recipe that the kids and I created over the New Year’s break from school. It features the nutty crunch of O Organics Honey Crunch n’ Oats Organic Cereal (which they love!) blended with the flavors of a classic peanut butter cookie. I’ve swapped the sugar for honey in this version, which adds a subtle sweetness and softness to the cookie.
O Organics Peanut Butter Crunch
Ingredients:
- 1 1/4 cup O Organics Honey Crunch n’ Oats Organic Cereal
- 1 cup O Organics Old Fashioned Creamy Organic Peanut Butter
- 2/3 cup O Organics 100% Organic Honey
- 1 O Organics Large Brown Egg
- 1 stick O Organics Sweet Cream Unsalted Butter, softened
- 1/2 tsp O Organics Organic Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Extract
- 1 1/2 cup O Organics Unbleached All Purpose Flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- Parchment paper
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix Honey Crunch n’ Oats, peanut butter, honey, egg, softened butter, and vanilla in a mixing bowl. Add flour and baking powder and mix well.
Drop 1″ balls of dough on a parchment paper-lined cookie sheet about 1 1/2″ apart. Bake for 10 minutes.
I continue to be impressed by the quality of the O Organics product line. Jewel-Osco makes it easy to include affordable, quality organic items into your diet. Years ago, I had to go to a specialty store to purchase organic items our family consumes regularly, such as organic peanut butter, honey, and milk. How things have changed — grocery stores have really upped their organic offerings, and Jewel-Osco has an enormous selection of organics!
The O Organics line is the largest USDA-certified organic brand in the entire country, so I never have trouble finding the organic items I’m looking for at Jewel. It’s also incredibly convenient to pick my organics up locally just a few minutes from my house versus having to travel to a specialty store.
Cooking and baking with O Organics helps me create quick and easy snacks that I know are healthy for my family too — I can control how much sugar they’re consuming while still giving them smart snack choices.
I buy my O Organics products at my local Jewel-Osco, and you can also find them at all of the Albertsons Companies family of stores, including Albertsons, Safeway, ACME Markets, Vons, Pavilions, Randalls, Tom Thumb, Shaw’s, Star Market, United Express, United, and Carrs/Safeway. Visit JewelOsco.com to find a store near you and discover more meal prep tips and recipe ideas.

Ooh, these look really good! Are they a chewy or crunchy cookie when they are done?

The cookie is chewy and crumbly, but the cereal flakes give it crunch when you bite into them :)

My grandma has always made something kind of similar to these! Except hers are no-bake cookies. Peanut butter cookies are my weakness, so I’ll probably love these too!
