All of my children are back in school now, including our daughter, who’s begun her second year of college. If your child is off to school, why not put together a College Survival Kit care package for him or her? There are so many personal care, cleaning, and snack products that are easy to pack and ship, and will also be fun for a dorm or apartment dweller to receive! Here are some ideas:
- Schick disposable razors
- Shaving gel
- Toothpaste and toothbrush
- Shampoo and conditioner
- Soap and body wash
- Air freshener
- Facial tissue
- Over the counter medicines
- First aid items
- Microwave meals and popcorn
- Coffee, tea, and/or hot cocoa
- Snacks and home-baked treats
- Candy
- Gift cards
- Cleaning products/wipes
- Laundry detergent and quarters
Apartment dwellers may also appreciate:
- Bath tissue
- Floor sweeper/duster
- Dish detergent and towels
- Hand soap pumps
The first college care package I sent this year was to a family friend who moved to Florida to take part in the Disney College Program. She was elated to get a big box of things she needed (and a few fun surprises too.) Having a selection of often-used products takes some of the pressure off college students to run to the store every time they run out of one of these essentials — especially in the case of personal care items! Depending on where your students are living, they may not have a supermarket or drugstore in close proximity to their residence.
Having hygiene products on hand can be integral to how they feel each day — every student wants to feel confident, whether they’re returning to college or heading there for the first time. Schick disposable razors are available at Walmart, and we’ve got a few coupons to make them a good buy too:
- .50 off any Schick Disposable razor pack
- $2 off Schick Hydro men’s disposable razors – 8/23 SS
- $4 off Schick disposable razors – 7/26 SS1
