AOL’s Patch has a story today about my coupon shopping, blog, and life! Patch also tagged along on a shopping trip for a web video feature, which you can watch online too.
Jill Cataldo can’t make a quick run into her hometown Jewel-Osco these days without being recognized.“It’s Jill,” a surprised Karen Raistrick said when she literally ran into Cataldo in the tissue aisle at the Huntley Jewel.
Raistrick took one of Cataldo’s couponing courses a year and a half ago and began using her tips to cut grocery costs. She’s saving about $200 a month thanks to Cataldo’s tips.
Nicknamed “Dear Abby” with coupons by ABC’s “Nightline,” Cataldo’s blog and Web site, Super-Couponing, has 30,000 followers. She writes a weekly column that reaches 20 million readers across the country. She’s appeared on numerous news channels and is a frequent source on major consumer stories.

Thanks, Jill! =) Here’s a question for you . . . when you shop, how do you organize the coupons you are using? Do you file the coupons you are using in a coupon organizer or do you keep all the coupons you are planning to use in that store in one spot? I’ve found that when I file them, I sometimes forget to use them. I usually put the coupons I plan to use for each store in separate envelopes, but then I feel like I have coupons everywhere. I took your class in 2009 and loved it, this is just one area where any tip you have would be helpful. Thanks a bunch!

Jill the video is excellent! I was glad they allowed you to explain how when most couponers are interviewed they only buy items that are free because it appears to be more impressive, but I think it’s actually much more impressive when you buy fresh produce and protien like you did. I also like how your shopping list and savings were posted at the end. Very easy for the average shopper to understand that not all couponers buy only processed foods and you can eat healthy and save money.

I enjoy all your videos so much! It never fails, I always learn something new! I notice you print your IPs on recycled print paper…nifty!
