What?
I said, “I don’t think you can do that.”
He said, “One of my friends told me that you can. I’m going to try today.”
And indeed, by lunchtime, Amazon had refunded the $9 difference to his credit card. Here’s how he did it:
Head over to Amazon’s Help Page and click the yellow “Contact Us” button on the right side of the screen.
Under “Tell us more about your issue,” select “Payment Issues” and then “Price changed on website.”
You’ll then see a button called “Send us an email.” Click it, and tell them about your issue, including your order number.

Star Wars Legacy Collection Droid Factory Action Figure, 6-Pack [Amazon Exclusive]Comments: I recently purchased this item at $23.99 and then just a few days later saw that the price dropped to $14.99 on the Amazon website. I was originally going to return the first order, but was hoping you could price match the item to $14.99. Thanks for your time.
A couple of hours later, he received the following:
But – who knew? I didn’t. And I wanted to share it with you in case any of you find yourselves in a similar situation.
PS: December 17th is the last day you can order on Amazon with free shipping and have your items arrive before Christmas…

Too bad they didn’t have that much concern for keeping our business. We went from spending several thousand in both personal and professional stuff a year to ZERO. We really should turn their sleazy business practices over to the state’s attorney, as they ripped off a LOT of people without them knowing it.

I got a refund from Amazon several years ago because of a change in an item’s price on the website. Then, another time, I tried to get a refund (it was a very small amount like $1.50) and I was told that prices fluctuate and it was not Amazon’s policy to issue such refunds. Maybe they have gone back to the more generous policy? Or maybe the difference is in whether the item had already shipped or not or how long it has been? In both cases, it was a recent order (within a week) and both occurred awhile ago. Good to know that this is an option! :)

I knew they didn’t PM other stores/sites, never thought that they would PM themselves. Just got a refund on something I bought last week due to a pricedrop. Thanks Jill!!!

I just purchased last year’s barbie dream house for $99.99 on Wednesday. I happened to look yesterday & it was down to $81.49. I called the 800 number & because my order hadn’t shipped yet, she said it was easier to cancel my first order & re-buy it. She said if it had shipped they would have refunded the difference.

So now we know exactly. :)
