Reporting my early morning experience of this Jewel sale for $5 instant savings. Purchased four Downy and four Gain using four $1 Downy Qs and two $1/2 Gain. Total $19.77 prior to tax so it comes to $2.47 each. Second transaction was 8 Febreze Air Care products (sprays). Using four B1G1 and four .75 Qs came out to $10.81 prior to tax so $1.12 each.
No instant $5 savings because it does state in the ad you must meet the $25 threshold AFTER coupons. I didn’t see a point purchasing $5-$6 more in products to offset coupons only to get $5 so went with the sale as is but thought others should know.
If you read the fine print further”…..after coupon reductions. Instant savings discount applied to non-P&G items.” So I probably still wouldn’t have received the $5 instant savings if coupons values were not taken into consideration because the only things in my transaction were P&G products.
The cashier did warn me ahead of time about the coupons reducing my meeting the $25 threshold as Algonquin store cashiers tend to be coupon literate and made the comment “it isn’t like it use to be”….no kidding! This is still a good sale but wanted others to know how it is working out so you don’t get tied up at checkout wondering what happened.

And you can tell I do not do math well in my head $2.99 times 8 equals $23.92 not $26.91 so didn’t realize I should have bought nine. But still $26.91 less $6.00 coupons (Downy/Gain scenario) would have brought me down to $20.91.

I figured out that I needed to buy 9 and everything went well.
