Check out this photo and email sent to me by a wild pair of new couponers who went on a shopping spree this weekend after I sent them a tip on toilet paper… proving anyone can do this!
“Well… it’s official. The Peto’s have begun couponing! We followed a lead Jill sent us on Cottonelle (the ONLY toilet paper I buy). We ran this deal 12 times! Yes… 12!
Kevin and I went from Jewel to Jewel today like Bonnie and Clyde, shouting “Hittin’ em” and “Systeming the System!” as we cleaned out the shelves. We ended up with 200 triple rolls and 126 double rolls, 10 Kleenex boxes, and 2 rolls of paper towels…all for under $150.
I know… you’re thinking, $150? That’s a lot of money. True true… But you also have to think…. that’s a lot of toilet paper! We are taking guesses in the pool to see how long it will take us to go through it all. Kevin’s guess is 2 years. I need to conduct some research before I solidify my guess.
Right now it is living in the living room, but soon it will be insulating our crawl space!
Thanks Jill for the tips on where to get the coupons and when to use them!
We emptied 4 Jewels! And only 1 person asked us whose house we were T-Ping. Kevin replied, ‘we really don’t like our neighbor!'”

Now, because I’m not brand-specific, I buy whatever toilet paper is cheap! But this is a good example of being able to find good deals on the things you buy, even if they’re not “dirt cheap.” A large pack of Cottonelle usually costs $5.99 at Jewel — after this deal, it cost about $2.50. That’s less than half off! And anytime something you like is half off or better, it’s a great time to buy.
And it looks like the Peto family will not need to buy toilet paper for a long, long time… unless they indeed do decide to TP their neighbor’s house.
