(I’d like to clarify that this shouldn’t have been funny. But in light of Dominick’s past issues with having expired food on the shelves… it was.)
Last week, Doritos were pretty cheap at Dominick’s with an e-coupon. With the cost of some chips and snacks lately, any price break is welcome, so I picked up a few bags. When I bought the Doritos, I noticed that in addition to the usual Doritos flavors like Cool Ranch and Nacho Cheese, Dominick’s had a display of original-flavor Taco Doritos with the 1960s-era Doritos logo and packaging.
I am a big sucker for anything retro, so I grabbed a bag of Taco in addition to my other (modern) Doritos flavors.
My daughter went down to the pantry to bring up some snacks for today’s football and race-watching. When she came back to the kitchen, Taco Doritos in hand, the expression on her face was priceless. She held up the bag and said:
“You bought these at Dominick’s, right?”
“Yes.”
“How old are they?”

I chuckled when she knew you bought them at Dominick’s and asked how old they were. I’ve had issues with their expiration dates before, but never decades past the expiration date! They do look cool though, I might have to go to Dominicks and see if they have any left.
