From the bottom of my bargain-hunting little heart… THANK YOU to EVERYONE who attended today’s Super-Couponing 2: Saving on Everything DVD shoot today! The day turned into a much longer shoot than anyone anticipated (the main center camera’s tape jammed about 1/4 of the way through and we had to start all the way over at the beginning…) and we also had some technical issues along the way that unfortunately are difficult to anticipate.
As one of my longtime readers, J.R. wrote in another thread, “A long but fantastic morning. It’s amazing that Jill could keep her cool through everything. I think I learned more about video production than I really wanted to know.” That pretty much sums it up..! When it goes smoothly, everything is great. When it doesn’t… it can feel like a lot of hurry-up-and-wait.
Everyone in the audience was extremely patient (and enthusiastic) throughout the stops and restarts, tape changes, and delays. But once everything got rolling smoothly, we got great footage of the class, the audience and the day! Everyone in attendance received some coupon-related gifts too, thanks to the sponsors that provided them for today’s event.
Everybody got cool shopping bags from Catalina Marketing’s CouponNetwork.com (they fold up into a small wallet that you can take with you!) – coupons for FREE bottles of Country Bob’s Sauce – coupons for either Smucker’s jelly, Dannon yogurt or Smuckers ice cream toppings – and a bonus coupon for a discount on the Super-Couponing 2 DVD once it’s released (tentatively in June!) Five random people also received FREE membership coupons for SavingsAngel.com’s grocery list matchup service, provided by SavingsAngel.
Again, I thank you all for coming out, dealing with the technical issues so pleasantly and patiently… I am very excited that the live shoot is done… on to the editing room!
Here are some photos from today!

You forgot to mention the free CAR!
You are clearly cooler under pressure and calmer than I could ever bee in a similar situation.
I’m sure I speak for others in saying we were glad to be there! I’d seen your SC-2 class almost 2 years ago when I first started, but it’s great to get reminded of all the things you my have missed the first time.
Can’t wait to see the final result.

So I have two questions. Where can I buy Country Bob’s sauce and do they ever go BOGO? Thanks Jill the shoot was great and you maintained a great attitude throughout!

Yes, it was a long morning and since the cell phones had to be off my husband was standing outside the library with my son looking for baseball equipement. It was quite comical. I really enjoyed your class today and even though we had to start over after the camera jammed…. i figured.. Hey, bonus material…. :)
Again, great job and thanks for everything..

You impressed me with how well you did under pressure! And with how well you did when you had to stop and restart – you picked up where you left off without a hitch. Thanks for the goodies too!
Thanks for the opportunity to participate…it was really neat seeing how a production like that is filmed.

Look at the bright side….blooper reels usually have a wide audience! You can sell it as a 2 DVD set!

Not only was this my first time meeting the face that has started me saving my money, but I also met so many other people there. I came by myself but I swear when I left there I felt like I made a bunch of friends.
Your class was very helpful and I can’t wait to go shop and save!
Your patience was awesome, it was a long morning but it was worth it!

We had so much fun today. Jill you were so kind and funny and considerate to all of us. The only picture we’re missing here on your blog is your arms crossed above your head! LOL. :)
I wanted so badly to go do coupon deals after seeing you, I felt inspired and ended up doing a sort of non coupon deal. Kind of interesting for what we needed…. (Everything is more expensive when you need it but I think we did pretty well!)
We needed a not too big flat screen TV, so hubby and I headed to Best Buy. The original price was right around $250. It was a generic Best Buy brand, but hubby worked for them for years before he finished his degree, we have lots of their Dynex stuff, and we don’t have any problems with anything we’ve gotten. Because we found an open box TV, instead of $250 it was $150. We asked if it had a remote. It did not. So they knocked off $10 AND included a brand new in the box remote. If you buy an open box TV right now you get a free movie up to $25. We also had some rewards points, enough to give us a $20 gift certificate.
So we got a 24 inch flat screen TV, brand new remote, and Nightmare Before Christmas movie for $120.
BARGAIN!!! :)
