This week’s syndicated Super-Couponing Tips column is entitled “The increased cost of a greeting.” Here’s an excerpt:
“Dear Jill,
“Not long ago, I was trying to pick out the perfect birthday card for a family member, and after finding one with the perfect message; I flipped the card over and saw the price — $7.99.
Would you pay $7.99 for a greeting card? Apparently some people do, as there were other cards priced in this range — and higher. It’s tough when my frugal side has to question whether or not a loved one is “worth” a pricey card. Can you put a price on someone you love? However, I found myself pondering whether or not my recipient is necessarily going to enjoy an $8 card more than a $2 or $3 card.”

You can cut & paste so many cool images off the internet & make your own.
I love making my own cards.
For cards needed at work, I make them and then MAKE everyone sign them on the team.
I like using paint & gimp and some of the other cool apps you can modify pics with.
I get pretty creative.
They become keepsakes!
What I do is I make 2 landscape pages and flatten the image in high def.
On page 1, I only use the right side 5.5 inche left margin. (card cover)
One page 2, I use the whole page.
Then print duplex on short side.
Fold in 1/2.
And there you go!

I’m a fan of making our own as well. I’d rather put $5 in a card than pay $5 for a card.
