Recipe: Sweet & Savory Signature Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp

Have you noticed all of the recent sales on Jewel-Osco’s house brands? Last year, I attended a blogger event to promote Jewel-Osco’s store brands, and there’s really no better way to realize that house-branded products are just as tasty as name brands than to try them! Since that time, I’ve been incorporating more Jewel-Osco store brands into my own cooking. 

Here’s a recipe for bacon-wrapped shrimp that I created with Signature ingredients. These shrimp are the perfect blend of sweet and savory flavors, and they get a little extra kick from Signature Kitchens’ Stone Ground Horseradish Mustard. We really like this mustard — it’s got sizable chunks of horseradish in it, and it’s one of those instances where the store brand has such a unique flavor that we prefer it over a name brand. 

Sweet & Savory Signature Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp

• One pound large cooked shrimp, peeled and deveined
• One-half package of Signature Farms thick-sliced bacon
• One cup Signature Kitchens 100% apple juice
• Two tablespoons Signature Kitchens Worcestershire Sauce
• Four tablespoons Signature Kitchens Stone Ground Horseradish Mustard
• Four tablespoons brown sugar
• Toothpicks

Mix apple juice and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl. Marinate shrimp in this mixture for 30 minutes.

Remove half the strips of bacon from the package. Cut the bacon strips into thirds with kitchen shears. Wrap each shrimp with one-third strip of bacon and secure bacon with a toothpick.

In another bowl. mix mustard and brown sugar. Use a basting brush to apply mixture to each bacon-wrapped shrimp. Place shrimp on a baking rack with a pan underneath to catch drips. 

Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Remove from oven, remove toothpicks, and serve.

I can’t tell you how good these are! There’s so much flavor here — the shrimp pick up a fruity, tangy flavor from the marinade, and there’s something magical about this horseradish mustard when it caramelizes with the brown sugar and the thick, savory bacon. Yum!
