I saw this campaign today and thought it was neat, as it’s something we’ve been trying to do every day this summer — but especially as we’re in the home stretch of the kids going back to school.
The Tech Timeout challenge is an on-your-honor pledge to stay off all electronics (yes, your beloved phone, tablet, computer, TV, or fill in the blank!) for at least one hour a day to enjoy some downtime for yourself and your family. Taking the pledge is FREE, and you only have to leave a first name. You can leave your idea for “turning off” too!
I’m enjoying reading some of the ideas others are posting:
- “Go swimming with your kids or bike ride”
- “Go outside and indulge in some gardening”
- “Put together a jigsaw puzzle in a common area in your house”
- “Go to a roller rink”
- “Make pizza from scratch”
What’s your idea? Share it at Tech Timeout – and get some new ideas to embrace too!
