Note: If you want Butterball, read on for the many ways to do Butterball deals involving the $10 Jewel coupon, $10 Nestle Catalina, $3 Instant-Savings Nestle deal, and the $3-off-4-and-Butterball coupon. If you just want a cheap turkey, note that the Jennie O and Honeysuckle are $1.21/lb. versus the $1.71/lb. Butterballs. Even with all the deals, you may still be better off simply using the $10 coupon on one of the $1.21/lb. turkeys for the lowest per-pound price. Read on for the explanation…
Ready to hit ALL of the Butterball deals at Jewel this week for a mega deal that will make your head spin? Let’s recap:
#1 – $10 coupon off Butterball, Jennie O or Honeysuckle in today’s Chicago Tribune (page 30)
#2 – $10 Catalina when you buy four participating Nestle items AND a Butterball (Sunday’s Jewel ad)
#3 – $3 instant-savings when you buy any 6 participating Nestle items (through 10/14)
#4 – $3 off 4 General Mills items and Butterball
#5 – Get five $1 Butterball coupons when you buy a Butterball turkey (mail-in receipt offer)
For this example, I’ll use a 14.4lb. Butterball, the smallest turkey I could find at my Jewel. Its price is $24.62.
#1: $10 Coupon with $25 purchase
I bought $25 worth of other groceries, so after the $10 coupon, I’ll pay $14.62 for this Butterball.
#2: Get a $10 Catalina when you buy four participating Nestle items AND a Butterball
Here is a UPC list all of the included items in the $10 Butterball/Nestle Catalina
Participating products (and their corresponding coupons) are:
32oz. Coffee-Mate liquid or powdered creamer – $3.99
– .55 off one and .75 off 2 – printable
Edy’s Ice Cream 1.5qt. – $3
Haagen-Dazs ice cream 14oz. – $3.50 through 11/14, $4.29 after
– $1.10 off 3 – printable
Nestle Carnation evaporated milk (12oz.) – $1.57
– $1 off when you buy two milks and Libby’s 15oz. pumpkin cans – 10/28 RP
– .50 off 2 Carnation – printable (Thanks to Rachel at Mashup Mom for spotting this printable!)
Nestle Pure Life water multipacks – $4.29-$4.49
– $1.25 off 2 or $1 off 2 multipacks – 11/11 RP
NOTE: While the ad shows the water as a participating item, it is NOT listed on the spreadsheet..! (I would be very cautious trying a deal with this, and it’s also not the best item to go with anyway because of the price.)
Nestle Toll House cookie dough – $2.95
– .75 off – 10/7 RP
Nestle Toll House Morsels – $2.49 (but $1.99 each through 11/14 when you buy SIX – more on that in a moment)
– .50 off – 9/9 RP
– .75 off 2 – 11/4 SS
Libby’s canned pumpkin (15oz.) – $1.99, (30oz.) $3.37
– $1 off when you buy two Carnation evaporated milks and Libby’s 15oz. pumpkin cans – 10/28 RP
Stouffer’s Family Size entrees (NOT singles) – $5.47, $9.49, $12.99
– $1.50 off – October All You
Obviously, for the best deal, you want to buy a group of items that totals LESS than $10, so you can apply the remainder of that $10 Catalina value back to the turkey. Buying two Carnation and two Libbys, with coupon, will cost you $6.12! This leaves $3.88 “profit” from the $10 Catalina to apply back to your turkey. (My turkey would now be $10.74.)
Don’t want or need pumpkin? Make it even a little cheaper by doing all four cans of Carnation with two .50-off-2 printables, and you’re looking at $5.28 for the milk, with $4.72 to apply to your turkey!
Or, do the deal this way…
#3 – $3 instant-savings when you buy any 6 participating Nestle items (through 10/14)
Here is a list of all of the included items in the Buy 6, Save $3 Instant Savings (through 11/14 – the Nestle Morsels are the double dip!)
With the Nestle Morsels double-dipping as part of BOTH offers, you can buy four bags to qualify for the $10 Catalina, but you need to buy SIX to get the $3 instant savings that drops each bag to $1.99. Six bags are $11.94. Use six .50 coupons and pay $8.94. This leaves $1.06 “profit” from the $10 Catalina to apply back to your turkey.
#4 – $3 off 4 General Mills items and Butterball
There’s a coupon in the 11/4 SS (or use a printable) for $3 off when you buy a Butterball turkey when you buy four of the following items:
Betty Crocker Boxed Potatoes – $1.85
– .50 off 2 – 10/7 GM, printable
Green Giant Canned Vegetables – .97
Pillsbury Crescent Rolls – $1 (4oz., through Nov. 14, $1.73 after) – $2.35 (8oz.)
– .50 off 2 – printable
– .50 off 2 – SavingStar ecoupon
– .40 off 2 – 10/21 SS, 10/7 GM, 9/9 SS2
– .40 off 3 – 11/11 SS, 11/4 SS printable
If you want the vegetables, you’re looking at .88 for four cans of Green Giant. But if you want the Crescents, they’re a better deal. Buy four cans ($4.) Use two .50-off-2s (now $3) and use the $3 off turkey coupon. The price stays the same, and you get four cans of crescents FREE! So, I stay at $10.74 from my example #2 step, but I’ve picked up four free cans of Crescents.
#5 – Get five $1 Butterball coupons when you buy a Butterball turkey
I don’t count this in as reducing the price of my turkey necessarily, as it’s not truly a rebate, but send in for the mail-in receipt offer and get the coupons for a future Butterball purchase.
THE SUMMARY:
After this deal, my 14.4lb. Butterball is down to $10.74 after all discounts, and I also got two Libby pumpkin / two Carnation milk and four cans of Pillsbury Crescents for that price. (If I’d done the deal with four cans of Carnation instead of the pumpkin, I’d be at $9.90.)
TO COMPARE:
For comparison’s sake, let’s say you ONLY want the turkey and don’t care about any of the extras. I looked for a similarly-sized Jennie O or Honeysuckle turkey while I was in the store, and I found a 14.46lb. Jennie-O for $17.50. With the $10 coupon alone, the price drops to $7.50, which is less than what I’m paying in my Butterball example. Of course, I’m getting no extras either… and if you don’t want any of the other stuff, that’s your best way to go from a financial standpoint.
Otherwise, you’re paying $3.24 for all of those extras, which is still a good deal if you need the baking items and side dishes.
Remember that the prices will vary too depending on which SIZE turkey you’re buying! I also spotted some 10lb. Jennie-O turkeys for $12.10. With the $10 coupon, you’d pay just $2.10 for this turkey! If you get multiple Tribunes, and you have a $50 grocery trip planned this week for Jewel, you may be better off splitting your groceries into two $25 trips and getting two small turkeys. With this math, you could get two 10-pound birds for $4.20 – a steal.
Have fun turkey shopping!
mashupmom says
Aren’t the morsels $1.99 after instant savings, not $1.49?
And if you just want Carnation milk and no pumpkin: $.50/2 Carnation evaporated milk here: https://www.verybestbaking.com/Coupons-Promotions/Coupons-List.aspx . $.50/2 in the 9/30 RP.

So we can use the $10 and get the $10 Catalina?
Couponingtofitandfifty says
Sounds like a great opportunity for us to give back and donate to our local food pantries.
Does anybody know if Hessed House in Aurora or Loaves and Fishes in Naperville will take frozen food? Other pantries?
I often take canned and boxed foods, but if I could donate a couple of turkeys that would be fantastic.
Thanks

It seems like you are saying we can use the $10 off turkey after $25 purchase coupon (from #1 example) AND the $10 cat offer (#2 example) AND the $3 off 4 GM + butterball items (#4 example)? Is that right?
Isn’t that using a $10 off turkey and $3 off turkey in same transaction? How would that work? OR, did you not use the $10 off turkey Q in your “The Summary” example?
Sorry, I’m just a little confused trying to decide how I want to do this.
Definitely appreciate all you do, so Thank you!

with the Butterball Website…butterball.com/ savings.
No matter how big the text and sizing, I can’t get a bottom scroll bar to print the coupon or offer.
Anyone know how to resolve this?

can you use the $10 catalina on the same purchase that your receiving the catalina for or does it have to be used for the next purchase also does the price of the turkey go towards the $25 purchase to use the $10 off a turkey coupon?
So if i was doing Deal #2 would I have to buy the 4 qualifying items (but reach $25) in addition to purchasing a butterball turkey…then use the $10 turkey coupon and get a $10 catalina to use on my next purchase…?
rswehrle says
Is the catalina for the nestle morsels only at Jewel? My closest store closed and I was wondering if the cat applied to other stores, like walgreens.
Calibabydolly says
I wonder what the prices will be like for next weeks Jewel ad?
I know they may run out of Butterballs, but the deals on the side items to do all the deals could get a bit better. Am I being too greedy?
I notice all the Butterball Jewel coupons say good thru 11-22.
