I’ve been getting quite a bit of email asking whether or not Jewel-Osco will do their annual freezer deal this year. This year, Jewel has a new owner, and they do not seem to be planning a freezer deal this year. If you’d like a chest freezer, which many couponers find invaluable for stocking up on meats and frozen foods, this is one of the cheapest, best ways to get a freezer.
Beginning 3/7, Ultra Foods has a 5.2 cubic foot Igloo freezer priced at $159.99. Like past years’ freezer deals, the price of the freezer is offset by the large quantity of free-product coupons that come with it! This year’s Ultra deal comes with $200 worth of free-product and dollars-off coupons.

And, as in past years, your best strategy is not to redeem all of your free-product coupons at once! Hold onto them, wait for Buy One Get One FREE sales, then take home TWO items instead of one. We do not know all of the details about the expiration dates on these, but think about it — you know you can always get one free item. By waiting, you may take home two instead of one!
