Note that at this time, Walgreens does not have a formal coupon policy. The following documents were obtained by iheartwags.com, an excellent site for following Walgreens sales:

Thank you for taking your time to contact our Corporate Offices. We appreciate hearing from our customers and value all comments received.
1. Can I use one IVC and one manufacturers coupon peritem? YES
2. How does it work if the face value of a coupon or coupons (IVC and manufacturers) is greater than the price of the item?
THE ITEM WOULD BE FREE, NO CASH VALUE
3. I noticed that almost ALL of the IVC coupons now state that they cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer. Does other offer refer to manufacturer coupons, sale items, or something else?
IVC AND OTHER COUPONS MAY BE APPLIED TO THE SAME ITEM
4. BOGO Questions; Examples:
Q: If you have Rimmel cosmetics on sale for Buy 1 Get 1 Free, the price is 4.99 for 1 or if I buy 2 I get the discount and they ring up as 2.49 and 2.50. Can I use 2 manufacturer coupons? One coupon for each one I’m purchasing since I have to buy 2 to get the discount? Such as 2 coupons that are 1 off each?
A: Buy one get one free – one item will be rung up free. You can use 2 MFR coupons on the product you are paying for because the # of coupons cannot exceed the # of items scanned.
Q: What about If you are having a store promotion for Buy 1 Get 1 Free and I have a manufacturers coupon for Buy 1 Get 1 Free/ Do I get both Items Free and just pay the sales tax?
A: Yes.
7. I understand that managers are allowed to limit the number of items purchased even if there is no limit stated in the weekly flyer. However, is there any minimum acceptable number? For example, I actually had a manager tell me that customers were only allowed to purchase 1 of the Garnier
Fructis (on sale for 1 this week)!!! That just seems like a ridiculously low number, and a person couldnt even purchase a shampoo AND conditioner without leaving the store and coming back at a later time.
THERE IS NO SET LIMIT BYU CORPORATE UNLESS STATED ON THE COUPON. MANAGAMENT
HAS THE DISCRETION TO LIMIT ANY AD ITEM.
8. When a coupon states one per purchase, does that mean one coupon per item, or one per transaction? ONE PER ITEM PURCHASED
9. Can I use more than one Register Rewards in a transaction?
# OF COUPONS CAN NOT EXCEED # OF ITEMS
10. Can I use Register Rewards in a transaction that will print out other (different product) Register Rewards? THIS DEPENDS ON THE TRANSACTION. IF THE SAME $ AMOUNT R.R. IS USED FROM THE SAME MFCTR IT WILL NOT PRINT
11. Is there anywhere in Walgreens stores where we can call Walgreens customer service number if we feel as though policies are not being followed correctly? And is there a customer service number that we can call after hours for the stores that are open 24 hours? YOU MAY CALL 800-925-4733 DURING BUSINESS HOURS. WE ARE IN TRANSITION OF OPENING 24-7.
Again, thank you for contacting our corporate office. We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your comments.
Sincerely,
April S.

Walgreens Coupon FAQ – for stores
Coupon FAQ’s
Use the information below to ensure that your store is following the appropriate policy when accepting both Walgreens and manufacturer coupons.
Can a customer use both a Manufacturer’s coupon and Walgreens coupon for the same item in a purchase?
One Walgreen and one manufacturer coupon can be used for the same item, unless either coupon prohibits such use.
Walgreens Roto Ad Coupons, Instant Value Coupons (IVC), and a manufacturer’s coupon can be used towards the purchase of any one item.
“One coupon per purchase” means one coupon must be tendered for each PIECE sold.
What happens if the Manufacturer coupon’s value is more than the retail value?
Walgreens does not provide cash back if a coupon is presented for more than the purchase value of the item (e.g., the customer is using the coupon to purchase a
clearance item).
If the retail of the item is less than the face value of the coupon:
• the coupon value shall be the retail value if the state requires taxes to be paid on that
item,
• the coupon value shall be the retail value plus taxes if the state does not require taxes
to be paid on the item.
Can a customer use a coupon after a sale has been made?
All valid coupons must be presented to the cashier at the time of sale only!
If there is no quantity limit on a Walgreens coupon can a manager impose his/her own limit?
Yes, managers have the right to limit the quantities of all advertised items.
Does Walgreens price match or accept coupons from other retailers?
Walgreens does not price match with other retailer.
Walgreens does not accept coupons from other retailers or coupons for products not carried in our stores.
Walgreens does not accept expired coupons.

Happened to me to today. I was buying 4 body washes. First they said the limit was 4, then they changed their minds and said the limit was 1. Nice…

Warning: Be sure to verify who is sponsoring and redeeming the Walgreen’s Register Rewards coupons. Walgreen’s advertising leads one to believe they are redeeming them, but they aren’t. I tried to stack a manufacturer’s coupon with their RR and was told that I couldn’t. After reading the very fine print, I realized P&G was redeeming the coupons. It was an honest mistake on my part, as I always try to follow the redemption guidelines.
Moral: READ THE FINE PRINT

The above mentioned everything except for this. It says they don’t honor coupons from other stores. But I think that means store coupons. What about manufacturer coupons with different store logos? I’m imagining the answer is no since I know they don’t take OYNO Catalinas.

Walgreens has been giving me fits. Today, I tried to purchase the AirWick Compact i-Motion Air Freshener and Listerine Zero. After using store sales, in-store coupons, and manufacturer coupons, both of these items should have been free. However, the register beeped and denied me. The clerk said it was because the value of the coupons exceeded the price of the items by 1 cent. For example, the air freshener was $7.99. With the combination of the 50% off sale and my manufacturer coupon, the value was $8.00 off. She said it had something to do with the sales tax. I was also purchasing other items that were not free. I said, “Even though I’m paying for these other things, you still can’t do it?,” and she said no. It seems from the answers that were received from Consumer Relations above, I should have received the items for free. What went wrong?
