My deals writeups reference “IVC” coupons. These are found in the monthly Instant Value Coupon books found at the front of the Walgreens store on the flyer racks.

Walgreens Register Rewards Deals

You cannot use Register Rewards to pay for items made by the same manufacturer. This will prevent the next set of Register Rewards from printing.
Example: I have a $1 Register Reward that I received buying Colgate. If I use it to buy more Colgate, the register will not generate another reward, as the first Colgate reward prevents it from printing. Now, if I used a Crest Reward to buy Colgate, the Colgate Reward would print. I could then use that to buy Crest, and so on.

You can receive multiple Register Rewards in the same transaction, provided they are separate offers. I can buy a box of cereal that generates a Register Reward, a tube of toothpaste that generates a Register Reward, and a bottle of shampoo that generates a Register Reward — all in the same transaction — as long as they are different offers in the same ad.

  2. Claritin is buy one get one 50% off at Walgreens this week. Can I use two of the same manufacturers coupons since there are two of the product in my transaction? I find coupon policies confusing and hoped you could give a quick answer.

  5. Quick Question – If I use my Balance rewards to pay for a transaction, I understand that no new balance rewards will generate, but will I still receive the register rewards for that transaction?

    Also, are the balance rewards used to pay posted to my after coupon amount or pre coupon amount? I’m curious because I don’t want to lose any balance rewards $$$$ by not having a large enough transaction.
