- They’ve clarified (finally!) that you cannot use more manufacturer coupons + Register Rewards than you have items in the transaction — something we’ve known for a long time but hasn’t fully been articulated in their policy;
- Walgreens no longer allows you to use a coupon that exceeds the sale price of the item;
- Shoppers can no longer use two coupons in a “Buy One Get One Free” situation. You may only use coupons on the one item you’re actually buying, not the free one.
Here’s the new portion of Walgreens’ coupon policy from their site:
The number of manufacturer coupons, including Register Rewards®/Savings Rewards manufacturer coupons, shall not exceed the number of items in the transaction. The total value of the coupons shall not exceed the value of the transaction.Walgreens will not accept coupons that exceed the selling price of an item and no cash back is ever provided in exchange for any coupons.
For offers when multiple items are purchased and additional items are free (buy 1 get 1 free; buy 2 get 1 free, etc.), the number of coupons applied to that offer cannot exceed the number of items required in the “buy” portion of the offer.
Coupons may not be applied against any free item received in any offer
Thank you to reader NFriday for spotting these changes.

will no longer be accepted.. Walgreens truly has always beens awful w/coupons. Its a cheap company, run like convenience stores. I only shop there because its nearby.. We miss Dominicks.. Walgreens has some nice people working there, But also hires free interns through Good Will, “free job training” = exploiting free labor..
Thanks,
P
