After using all my Balance Points on the free items during Thanksgiving week, I had all these Register Rewards. I bought games for gifts & food & hair accessories.
I was able to find the 64 ct. baby wipes that were the hot item this week for $1.99. The thing was it was part of a buy 1 get 1 free deal & get 1000 points on each = 2000, basically making them free. I found 2 stores with only 1 on the shelf.
I took them to the Algonquin Walgreens on Randall Rd, and Chika (great name!) was a great help in the cosmetics department. She returned both individual receipts, and allowed me to repurchase them with Register Rewards. And with them now being on the same transaction, I got the 2nd one free, giving me the deal and I recycled that Register Rewards back into Balance Rewards.
That was the best experience with a no hassle return I’ve ever had at Walgreens. In the past, I just wanted to shoot myself with the agony I’ve been through with a return at the Hanover Park location (on Irving Park Rd.)
Just something to keep in mind when you only see 1 on a shelf for a B1G1Free deal in the future at a store where a rain check won’t work like at Walgreens where a sale price, a BIG1Free, and a Balance Rewards promotions lined up for a freebie deal. And you can find another store with an odd ball single left. Combine them & get the deal. I wouldn’t even know how they would write up a rain check like that!
