It’s a crackdown on one of the biggest corporations in the country. For the next three years Walgreens will be on Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster’s radar for what he calls misleading advertisement. “It’s a unprecedented amount of babysitting that’s going to occur with this national corporation,” he said.
For the next three years, 25 percent of Missouri’s 200 stores will be audited. Walgreens must pay for the audits. The Attorney General’s office will approve the firm. This all comes after an investigation last summer which found customers were overcharged.
“Investigators from my office found more than 20 percent of the merchandise they purchased from around the state, rang up at the register at higher prices than the price that was displayed on the shelf,” Koster said.
Auditors will check at least 100 items to determine if prices advertised on the shelf tags match the prices at the register. Each store audited must demonstrate at least a 98 percent pricing accuracy rate.

It is about time that the corporate office begins to listen to the consumer after we have complained about the past
coupon experiences at the stores. They are so hard to deal with every time you go in there to do a deal. Especially
now since once again they have changed their coupon policy to suit them not the consumer. I am so happy that
finally they are getting audited for bad practices.
