As pretty much anyone who woke up in northern Illinois already knows, we went from a calm fall afternoon to a sparkly winter morning in a matter of hours. I wish I would have taken a photo of our yard before everything began, but I did take a photograph of the sunset reflecting off one of our trees:

Our boys were in our room around 7:30 this morning asking if they could go out and play. They just came in for lunch — they’ve been in the snow for hours exploring, playing, and enjoying the beautiful snow. How much did we get?
I took this photo around 9:00pm last night. Here’s the same view this morning…
The snow is still falling..! We had to measure it. Here’s a ruler on top of our deck rail:
