I just got off the phone with a representative from Dominick’s regarding shoppers having issues with the Just For U discounts not coming off their cards. Anyone who signed up for and unsuccessfully loaded Just For U offers prior to today will have a $5 bonus discount loaded to their Just For U account for their next shopping trip to Dominick’s to make up for the issues (apparently whether you experienced any issues or not.)
Earlier this week, one of my readers had posted that their store stated the discounts were not coming off because Just For U was only intended for store employees — that seemed a bit ridiculous as Just For U was being promoted on the front page of Dominicks.com. However, it turns out that the employee wasn’t far off (and I owe an apology to the reader who posted this!)
Evidently, Just For U was supposed to roll out only for Dominick’s employees over the weekend to give them time to try and test the system before releasing it to the general public.
However, someone took the campaign live for everyone, and many people complained that their discounts were not coming off. It was Dominick’s intention (again, according to the rep I spoke with) that only store employees receive the discount during this interim period, but since it was taken live to everyone, they are issuing a $5 credit to anyone who signed up and loaded offers prior to today.
Again, if you signed up and unsuccessfully loaded offers for Just For U over the weekend, you should now have an extra $5 discount attached to your Fresh Values card to make up for the confusion. If you have not yet signed up for Just For U, signing up today will not add this bonus $5 discount.

I signed up over the weekend loaded some things picked up a few things yesterday (forgot the eggs) then picked up a few things today (remembered my free eggs) and no sign of a $5 credit.

Can you please advise where they will add the $5? I loaded over weekend under Personalized Deals for the free eggs, bundt cake, Bounty, Tide etc. I also added items from Coupon Center and Club Special. I do not see the $5 yet. Was there a timeframe given? Sorry…sure you are getting bombarded!! This is a wonderful surprise. Also…have not shopped at Dominicks since getting on just for U!
One added item….are we stuck w/ these prices if these items go further on sale such a Super Coupon?

I also signed up last week, haven’t gone yet to get the eggs and when I tried to log in this morning they didn’t have my email address so I had to call and have it added AGAIN. I didn’t see the $5 loaded on the card online but saw the eggs. Is it just an automatic at the register?

I have been doing a crazy amount of Capri Sun and Kraft dressings for pennies and have not seen any $5 credit.(I have bought other items which should bring my total over $5) My computer has been down a couple days now, and this is the first I have seen about it. Hopefully this $5 credit will magically appear on my card. I’ll wait and see.

But when I got home their was a message from Dominicks on my machine telling me that they were adding a $5 credit on my next order ,Do to a problem with my Cat . not working when I tried to do a roll over last week . Even tho I did get the $5 from the CS when she redid my order.

I live in WI, but work in IL. I’ve done the deal shopping at Dom’s for a year now (& never had any problems). I signed up for the Just for U program last week, but it won’t recognize me as being eligible for the program because I don’t live by a Dom’s. I’ve contacted Dom’s and am waiting for their answer. But wanted to give a headsup to anyone else in WI doing this same thing- you may have problems!

I really appreciate your work toward this and I have not tried to use my card at doms to see if I did get the $5 credit yet but I did go back onto the Just for U site and it turns out that I had to RELOAD all my coupons and personal saving again!!! Is that Doms way of not giving me my $5 credit because I KNOW THAT I HAD LOADED WHEN IT FIRST LAUNCHED, TRIED IT AND THE FREE EGGS DID NOT COME OFF THEN. I am really disappointed with Doms, what can we do, has this happened to anyone else?

Oh well – it was just a bonus anyways, but I was hoping it’d help me pay for my Riesling habit!

We are sorry for the issues you experienced with Dominick’s Just For You and thank you for bringing this to our attention. There are a few things we’d like to clarify regarding the $5 offer, and we hope you can share them with your readers.
The $5 offer was only given to customers who registered, selected offers, and tried to redeem an offer in the store between 9/14 and 9/18. Customers who do not meet those criteria are not extended the $5 offer. The offer has been loaded directly to these customer’s cards and will not show up on their Just for U site–there is nothing they will need to do to take advantage of it. For those customers impacted, the redeemed offer will be visible at the bottom of their receipt. We have called or emailed all the customers impacted as some of your readers have indicated.
We also noticed some other questions readers had and wanted to give you some answers!
Q. What if a better price comes up for an item – like a super coupon or Fresh Values offer?
A. The customer always wins! You will receive the lowest price available on that item.
Q. What if I didn’t get the right price at the register?
A. First, make sure that you bought the right item; it’s important to make sure the product size or count is the same as what is on the offer. The easiest way to do this is to print your shopping list. If you still think the register price is not correct please give our customer care center a call at 1-877-SAFEWAY (1-877-723-3929).

I joined the new program on Sunday, Sept. 19th. I immediately loaded the coupons to my card. Today, I went to redeem my free eggs and the Huggies $3 off coupon. Neither of these offers came off my card. Luckily, I had printed the list of my offers and brought it with me. A manager was called over, and I must say that she was very friendly and helpful. I don’t ever feel that way when I shop Dominicks, so this was a pleasant surprise. She looked over my items and issued my the discounts including the extra $5 off. She did say that anyone who was being issued the extra discount would have received an email. She showed me a letter sent from corporate regarding the issue. So, if you didn’t get the extra $5, and didn’t receive an email…you probably didn’t qualify for it. I still don’t know why my discounts didn’t come off…

Signed up for “Just for U” the afternoon of 9/15/10 and loaded several personalized offers onto my card. Went shopping later that evening, offers did not come off. Called Dominick’s toll-free CS number and sent them an email the next day. Got a reply back acknowleging issues redeeming offers with Just 4 U and promising me the next time I visit my local Safeway the offers will come off at the register automatically, along with a reference contact ID. Shopped at Dominick’s several times this past weekend, eggs and personalized offers came off but the $5 credit never did. Called CS several times about the $5 credit offer but they know nothing about it.
