The deals just keep coming on Kellogg’s Cereals. Finally, this week, the price takes a nice drop too! They are on sale for $1.69 a box. When you buy 3, you’ll get a Catalina for a free gallon of milk on your next shopping trip. (Buy 6, get 2 gallons free, buy 9, get 3 gallons free up to $3.59.)
This time around ALL Kellogg’s cereals 8.9oz in size are included, though not all of them will be on sale for the $1.67 price. The ones that are, are:
Apple Jacks
Cocoa Krispies
Corn Flakes
Froot Loops
Frosted Flakes
Honey Smacks
Mini-Wheats
Pops
Pop-Tarts (8ct.)
Raisin Bran
Rice Krispies
There are quite a few Kellogg’s coupons out for the deal…
– $1 off Frosted Flakes low sugar – printable

– $1 off 2 Kellogg’s All Bran, Crispix or Corn Flakes cereals – printable

Many cereal boxes have “peelie” coupons on the cereal boxes for produce discounts — $1.00 off fresh fruit when you buy 2 boxes. Others have reported seeing tearpads for $1.50 off fresh fruit when you buy 2 boxes. AND, others have reported FREE M&M peelies when you buy 2 Rice Krispies or Cocoa Krispies on the boxes! Any of these will make an already-good deal even better!
So, here’s a possible deal that you could do:
Buy 6 boxes of Kellogg’s cereal ($10)
Use three $1-off-2 coupons ($7)
Use three $1-off-produce when you buy 2 Kellogg’s peelies (still $7, but add in $3 worth of now “free” fruit!)
Pay $7 and get two Catalinas for two gallons of free milk up to $3.59 – so, $7.18 worth of milk, plus 6 boxes of cereal, plus $3 worth of fruit, for $7! Nice!
—–
BONUSES to look for with this deal: Some stores have FREE reusable Kellogg’s shopping bags when you buy 2 cereals – reader Outlander spotted them and sent a photo. They’re cute, with retro-Kellogg’s characters on them… and of course, we like FREE things!
AND.. if you’re a rebater, and you’re buying at least 10 boxes of cereal this week, you will want to check out this $10 Kellogg’s mail-in rebate on SELECTED varieties of Kellogg’s cereal. My beautiful sister Lynn made a quick list of the cereals that double-dip both the sale and the rebate:
Corn Flakes
Crispix
Raisin Bran
Rice Krispies
You don’t even need a receipt – mail in 10 UPCs and get a $10 prepaid debit card. Better yet? You can submit up to FIVE rebates per household! Moneymaker cereal coming your way? You bet!
Old Orchard 100% apple juice (64oz.) is $3.39, B1G1F – that’s about $1.70 each. Reader SuperSavingMommyof2 spotted a coupon to make this even better! Print two .50 coupons. Use one on each bottle and pay $2.39 for both, or about $1.20 a bottle!
Halls cough drops (30ct.) are on sale for $1. Use the .75 coupon from 3/27 SS1 and pay .25! There are also .50 coupons in the February, March, and April issues of All You for more cheap cough drops at .50 per bag.
Angel Soft bath tissue isn’t a bad buy if you need it. 12-count double rolls are on sale for $5.49. Use the $1 coupon from the 3/20 RP and pay $4.49.
Here’s a deal on Similac Formula. Similac Ready-to-Feed 32-ounce bottles are on sale for $5.69. Use the $5 coupon from 4/3 SS and pay .69! A steal for formula. (Even if you don’t formula feed or have a baby, if you can afford to donate it, I’d recommend picking it up for a food pantry donation — that is just crazy-cheap.)
If you missed the deal on Stayfree pads last week, they’re still pretty cheap this week. Stayfree 22ct. are on sale for $1.99. Use the $1 coupon in the 3/27 RP and pay .99!
“No Coupon Needed” Deals
Jewel large eggs are .99 a dozen, limit 2.
Florida’s Natural orange juice (59oz.) are $2.50 each.
Redi-Serve breaded chicken strips or nibblers (10oz.) are on sale for $1.50.
Dozen Long Stem Roses are $5.99
Deals continuing from previous weeks:
My beautiful sister Lynn spotted a super deal on Hartz Crunch N’ Clean dog treats! They’re on clearance at numerous Jewel locations for $1.99 a box. There’s a $1.50 coupon in the 3/6 SS that will net you .49 dog treats! (And, if you don’t mind opening your boxes, we’ve found that many of our boxes have had additional $1 coupons inside!)
Time to stock up on dog treats! Look for boxes with a free chew toy inside too!
9-count packs of Clorox Wipes are .25 each (through May 1!) It is currently cheaper to buy multiple small packs of Clorox Wipes like this than to buy a canister of them. (Really – the 35ct. canister is $2.50 this week, but buying 4 9-packs will give you 36 wipes for $1! If you’ve taken my Super-Couponing workshop, remember what I have said about those small sizes..!
LAST WEEK FOR THE DEAL! Ronzoni Pasta is on sale for $1 again. A reader found more $1-off-2 printables for this sale. Click “Promotions and Coupons” after printing the first coupon you see for even more $1-off-2s.
With a $1-off-2, you’re taking two boxes home for $1, or .50 each! $1 sale price runs through 4/6/11.
There is a national Catalina deal running on McCormick herbs, spices, extracts, food coloring, black pepper, garlic and onion. Buy two and get a $1.50 Catalina; buy 3 or more and get a $2.50 Catalina (through 4/10.)
There is a $1 coupon in the 3/13. Prices vary, but I spotted some McCormick around the $1.99 price point at Jewel. If you have 3 coupons, buy three, pay $2.47 and get $2.50 back. .47 for 3 is about .16 each!
NOTE that NOT ALL McCormick items are included. Many readers have reported issues with some products not working, namely the carded recipe spices and the grill packets. Stick to the jars.
Jewel-Osco information:
Jewel-Osco has a Facebook page. If you have questions directly for corporate, you can ask them there.
Are you on the Jewel-Osco email list yet? Jewel has been making coupons available for many different products over the past few months, and they’re usually store coupons that you can stack manufacturer coupons with too.
Coupon books currently found at Jewel:
It’s a Spring Thing – coupons and details of Spring Thing online contest
Jewel meat deals:
- Split chicken breasts are $1.99/lb.
- Jennie-O bone-in turkey breast is $1.99/lb.
- Always a deal: Jewel-Osco has 1lb. chub packs of Carolina Ground Turkey in the freezer case for around $1.69, every day, at most locations.
Jewel produce deals:
- 5lb. bags of Value Wise Russet potatoes are $1.99 – that’s about .40/lb.! Super cheap!
- 5lb. bags of Wild Harvest organic russet potatoes are $3.49 – that’s about .70/lb.!
- 5lb. boxes of Cuties Tangerines are $6.99. Use the $1.50 coupon from 2/27 SS (expires TODAY, 4/4!) and pay $5.49, or $1.10/lb.!
- Zucchini or yellow squash are $1.29/lb.
- Organic Anjou pears are $1.79//lb.
- Tomatoes on the vine are $1.99/lb.
- Honey Manila or Kent Tropical mangoes are $1.49, B1G1F – that’s about .75 each.
(Anytime meat is under $1.99 a pound (no matter what it is — beef, pork, poultry) it’s a buy in my book, because $1.99 is a cycle low and a good benchmark for meat prices — ditto for most produce. Seafood, by its nature, is more expensive per pound, but a good “buy” benchmark is $4 per pound or less for fish or shrimp.)
Let’s go to Dominick’s (View weekly ad)…
Note to Safeway shoppers reading from outside Chicagoland: In Chicago, Dominick’s does not double coupons (as other Safeway stores do) – if your store doubles, you’ll do even better with many of these deals. Also, in Chicago, previously-available ecoupons (Cellfire, ShortCuts and PGEsaver) have been discontinued. Ecoupons are now available in the “Just For U / Coupon Center” section of electronic coupons available at Dominicks.com.
Dominick’s Super Coupons:
These are store coupons found in the weekly Dominick’s flyer, which (in the case of the name-brand products) means they can be stacked with manufacturer coupons for even bigger savings. You can also now load these Super Coupons to your Fresh Values card via Dominicks.com and not have to clip them. Best bets this week?
In the 3/30/11 Chicago Tribune “Good Eating” section, page 9:
- $10 off a grocery purchase of $50 or more Dominick’s coupon
- Fisher Boy seafood selections (18-24oz.) are $2.99 each, limit 2, with Super Coupon. Use this .75 printable and pay $2.24 – great price!
- Safeway Thick Sliced Bacon (3lb.) is on sale for $6.99, limit 2, with Super Coupon – that’s $2.33/lb., a good price for bacon.
- Safeway Artisan breads are $1.50 a loaf, with Super Coupon.
- Jack’s Pizzas (15-18oz.) are on sale for $1.99, limit 3, with Super Coupon.
In the Mar. 31-April 6 flyer – “4 Day Sale” on cover:
- 12oz. Lucerne String Cheese is $2.49, limit 2, with Super Coupon.
In the April 3-April 6 flyer – “4 Day Deals” on cover:
- Colgate Toothpaste is on sale for $1.99, limit 1, with Super Coupon. Use the $1.50 coupon from 3/27 SS1 and pay .49!
- Kleenex (75-200ct.) is .99 a box, limit 2, with Super Coupon. Buy two and use the .50-off-2 coupon from April All You. You’ll pay $1.48 for two, or .74 each!
Through 4/8, if you spend $75 at Dominick’s (that’s post-store coupon) you’ll get a $10 Catalina back. This could work nicely with the $10-off-$50 too if you’re planning a big shopping trip. (This offer was announced on Dominick’s Facebook page.)
However, WATCH the Catalina machine if you try to do this deal. It didn’t print for me & I had to pull Dominick’s Facebook page up while in the store to convince customer service that the deal was running (more details here.) Others in the same discussion I linked have had it not print either.
POSSIBLE PASTA DEAL: Creamette pasta is .88 a box through MONDAY only. IF the quick cook variety is included (this was the only thing I forgot to check this week when I was price-gathering at Doms… oops!) there is a $1-off-2 printable on Creamette’s site. Buy two and pay .76 for two, or .38 a box!
Reader Bookmaven spotted a .50 off ANY Creamette ecoupon in Just For U at Dominicks.com as well — see if you have it for more .38 pasta…
Coca-Cola 12-packs are on sale “Buy 2, Get 2 Free plus 2 boxes of Nabisco crackers FREE” too. If you have coupons for free 12-packs of Coke from Coke Rewards, use them here. The 12-packs’ price is $5.99 each (ridiculous!) so if the value of your FREE Coke 12-pack coupon is less than $5.99, you will pay the difference. Still a deal!
Reader Outlander spotted a deal on FREE Frank’s Red Hot sauce! Small bottles are on sale for .50. Use the .50 coupon from 3/13 SS and pay… NOTHING! It’s FREE!
Dog food deal: Dominick’s has 11.5lb. bags of Chef Michael’s Dog Food on sale for $14.99. Use the $10 coupon from 3/27 SS2 and pay $4.99!
New Just For U ecoupons on Dominicks.com worth checking out:
$1.49 Girard’s Salad Dressing: 12oz. bottles, limit 4. Make these FREE with $2 printable coupons! (Note that these coupons WILL beep because of the overage. If you anticipate any problems at the register, print a copy of Dominick’s coupon policy and refer to point #1, which states “if application of the redemption value yields a price less than zero, the coupon will be redeemed only for the amount that yields a zero price.”)
—
$1.99 Johnsonville Sausage: Make the Johnsonville price even better with $1 printables, which will drop the price to .99 a package!
—
.99 Eating Right bagged salads (11oz): A good price for these.
—
Classico pasta sauces (15-24oz.) are $1.49 a jar, limit 4. If you have any $1 peelies for Classico (they were on boxes of Ronzoni, which has been free over the past month during several pasta deals at Jewel,) use them here for .49 sauce!
—
Red seedless grapes are .79/lb.
Other online-only deals to check for while you’re logged in to your electronic coupons at Dominicks.com:
Some readers have reported finding ecoupons for a FREE box of Special K or Lucky Charms cereal.
—
I spotted a deal on Magnum ice cream bars that some other readers have also reported having in their electronic coupons. If you have “Save $1 on Magnum Ice Cream Bars” 3-pack, Limit 1, load that to your card, and here’s the deal:
Magnum Ice Cream bar 3-packs (they’re gourmet Belgian chocolate ice cream bars… very yummy!) are on sale for $3. Print a $1 manufacturer coupon too to stack with your $1 store coupon. This SHOULD make the bars $1.
However, when they rang up at the register…
They rang up as being on SALE for $1, not $1 off. And with the $1 printable…FREE! It has rung up the same way for all of the readers who have reported having the same ecoupon on their card. Reader CouponDad tried buying a second box in the same transaction, but the second box DID ring up at $3, so this truly is a limit 1.
“No Coupon Needed” Deals:
8ct. Safeway hot dog or hamburger buns are .99 each.
6ct. Safeway bagels are $1.99 each.
If you haven’t yet signed up for the “Just For U“ electronic discounts that you can load to your Dominick’s Fresh Values card, you may want to. For registering your card, you’ll receive an ecoupon for a FREE 12-ct. Lucerne large eggs! You’ll also activate a set of electronic discounts that are tied to your card for the next 90 days. Each person’s discounts are different, and they’re based on past purchases made with your Fresh Values card at Dominick’s.
Coupon booklets currently found at Dominick’s
Note that this is a listing of what you MAY find. Coupon books tend to move very quickly once they become available! Look on displays throughout the store to find them. Some Dominick’s are now keeping these coupon books behind the Customer Service counter, so you may want to ask at your store.
$42 Frozen Food Coupons – Just as the title says, it contains $42 worth of coupons for frozen food.
Dominick’s meat deals:
- Fresh Safeway whole chickens are $1.29/lb.
- Fresh Open Nature natural chickens are $1.99/lb.
Want FREE marinade? Many Dominick’s will marinate your fresh meat free at the meat counter, so depending on what you’re buying, you may want to take advantage of that.
Dominick’s seafood deals:
- 32-48oz. bags of frozen Safeway fish fillets (Tilapia, Swai) are $7.99 – that’s about $2.66-$4/lb.

Note that Meijers in other states are on different schedules. The Illinois Meijers are about a week behind on the sales vs. most of Indiana/Michigan. If you’re in Illinois, these Meijer deals run through Wednesday. If you’re reading from another state, they ENDED Saturday at your store… Confusing? Yes.
AND, if you shop at the Illinois NILES or ORLAND Meijer locations, they haven’t been following the same sale flyer as the oter Illinois Meijers, under the convoluted reasoning that because the stores are newer, people will shop there -without- as many products being on sale. O-kay.
Here are your Hilander and Kroger deals (View weekly Hilander ad …
Need a laundry detergent deal? Xtra Laundry Detergent (62oz.) is on sale for $1.98. Use the .50 coupon from 3/6 SS, which doubles to $1, and pay .98!

12-count packages of Dannon Danimals are on sale for $3.98 each. Use the $1 coupon from 2/27 SS and pay $2.98 for 12 cups — that’s about .25/cup, which is a good per-piece benchmark for a cup of yogurt.
And, 16-count packages of Yoplait Go-Gurt are also $3.98 each. Buy two and use any of many .75 printable coupons (more here and here. Buy two and pay $7.21 for two, or about $3.61 each. Per Go-Gurt tube, that works out to .23 each.
Hilander is running a “Spend $25, get $5” instant-savings deal on baby products. Honestly, nothing is super-great to write home about here. I was shocked to see the PediaSure shakes priced at $9.69 for the 6-pack… the regular price at both Jewel and Dominick’s is $6.99. Mega packs of Luvs are $9.99 each, but there are no current coupons.
If you’re a Pampers fan, they’re definitely your best bet for this deal. Pampers Jumbo packs (diapers and training pants) are $8.99 in this deal. Buy three ($26.97.) After instant-savings, it’s $21.97. Use as many $1.50 coupons from the 4/3 PG as you have.

Wrapping things up with Walmart…
Reader Flygirl spotted a super deal on Olivari Olive Oil! 22.5oz. bottles (big bottles!) are on sale for $8.15 at most stores. (Remember, regular prices can vary depending on location.)
Print this Buy One, Get One Free coupon, and you’ll take two bottles home for a little over $4 each. Make this deal even better with the $1 coupon from April All You for one bottle. Now, pay about $7.15 for two, or about $3.58 a bottle! A steal for that large size, too.
Nature Made Fish Oil Twin Packs (two 100ct. bottles) are on sale for $9.98. Use the $4 coupon from February All You and pay $5.98 for two, or $2.99 a bottle! Good price.
There’s also a $2 coupon in the April All You.
Super Walmart deal: 4lb. boxes of frozen Tilapia fillets are $12.48 – that’s $3.12/lb., an excellent per-popund price.
Deals continuing from previous weeks:
FREE Gain Dish Detergent: The P&G $110 Everyday Savings coupon mailer contains two current coupons for $1 off Gain Dish Detergent. Walmart sells Gain for .97 (exp. 4/30/11, 6/30/11)
Policies to know:
- Walmart will price match any competitor’s advertised price. Bring the other store’s flyers with you to the store.
- With the new coupon policy, Walmart will also accept other store’s STORE coupons with an actual price listed on them. For example, a Dominick’s store coupon advertising “.99 Ragu Pasta Sauce” would be accepted. A Walgreens store coupon advertising “2/$1 Morton’s Salt” would be accepted. (A Target store coupon for “$2.50 off Huggies” would not, because it does not show the actual selling price of the item.)
- With the new coupon policy, Walmart will also accept competitor’s Catalina manufacturer coupons. You can get a Catalina for $1 off Snuggle and use it at Walmart.
- Walmart’s new coupon policy specifically addresses coupon overage. It says “Coupons may exceed the price of the item. Change may be given or applied toward the cost of the basket purchase.” I have heard from one reader who used a $3 Register Reward on a $2.49 copy of All You magazine and DID receive change, in cash.
I would print a copy and carry a copy of the coupon policy with you if you anticipate any issues.
Will I blog Walmart in its entirety each week?
I will not be blogging entire writeups for Walmart each week. Every store location’s regular prices are different, and Walmart does not issue a weekly ad every week. I’ve listed Walmart at the end of each week’s Deals writeup, because if you see any deals above that you want, you’ll likely also be able to do them at Walmart.
However, if there IS an ad with noteworthy sales or I’m aware of great coupon matchups, you’ll find those here too.

As always, these deals are guidelines for shopping. I can make no guarantee that these items will be on sale, in stock, or available at your area store. I can also not guarantee your Catalinas will print, your cashier will smile at you while you check out, or that your shopping cart won’t have a broken wheel. But I CAN teach you how to save money :)
And, also, as always, a huge thanks to the many readers who posted and emailed deals that made it into today’s Deals of the Week! We’re all in this together, and I sincerely appreciate everyone who spots and passes along good deals that we can all enjoy :) Thank you… to YOU!
* (All You magazine is not a requirement for using the site, but if you like coupons, you will probably really enjoy it. It’s a cheap ($2.49 an issue) magazine that is absolutely filled with coupons each month — typically $50-$100 worth per issue! You can subscribe to All You online and save about $10/year off the cover price. And depending on the values, if you use 2 or 3 coupons alone from each issue, you’ve recouped the cost of the magazine, and you’re on your way to even bigger savings.)

I just thought I should mention that Walmart does not accept competitors catalinas anymore, and starting a few days ago I found out that they will not price match generic brands from other stores. For instance you will not be able to match generic milk gallon prices from another store that has it on sale. Anyone interested should phone 1-800-WALMART and complain!

Just a heads up that some Jewels (maybe the “Spanish” Jewels?) have eggs for .79! The Mundelein one has them at that price through Wednesday.
Also check your emails for CVS coupons. I got a $5 off purchase of $25 and my mom got $4 off purchase of $20.
I found the deals of the week just before I headed out to CVS tonight to get milk and ended up buying 2 toothbrushes, 2 toothpastes, a gallon of milk, contact solution, and 2 packages of corn tortillas. Paid .78 out of pocket, used $12 in ECB and got back $15.97 in ECB PLUS $2 in ECB printed from the Magic Machine when I swiped my CVS card. So my late night milk run turned into a $5.19 money maker! Jill rocks and rolls!

I LOVE Almay’s Smart Shade concealer. It’s usually $8.99 – with the 40% off it rang up as $5.39. After the $2Q = $3.39. I was VERY happy until I read the deals and realized I forgot to check for the $2 STORE coupon… BUMMER!!! oh well…
If your kids like stickers as much as mine does, they have mini sticker books 3/$1 with the wag coupon in the ad. Not bad for a basket stuffer. A tub of Sidewalk chalk (I think it has 8) was also $1.
And, I know we can get this product cheaper and/or free sometimes, but – if you really need them, I don’t think this is a bad price: Buy a 40ct box of Tampax Pearl tampons, us the $2 Q from 4/3PG. Pay $4.99 and get $2RR = $2.99. Sweeten the deal by looking for a box that has “$14 of coupons inside” on the front.(However, I got home and realized someone must have stolen the coupons out of my box -there were none to be found. More than a little disappointing so check your box first!)
UglyChixImMe says
The $1 off 2 Coupon stipulates 10 oz or larger. So the 3/6 red plum coupon is out for the 8.9 oz boxes on sale.

Not only did I find peelie coupons for fruit and free m&m’s on my cereal boxes I purchased at Jewel, but they also had tear pads in the cookie aisle for $1.00 off nabisco cookies (which oreo’s were 2.49) with the purchase of a gallon of milk. If you use the catalina coupons that print off after your cereal purchase, you can utilize the cookie coupon, making Oreos $1.50. Just an FYI. I get a high from these types of things and can’t wait to shop this week because I got my first Chicago Tribune since super-couponing. :) Yay

I loaded this onto my card not 10 minutes ago and now I can’t find it on the JFU Dom’s website or my “list” of stored offers! It just magically disappeared….has this happened to anyone else? Is anyone still seeing this on their JFU and if so, where? I’d really like to try Jill’s deal :) Thanks!

I must have misread or misunderstood the CVS Pampers Deal. My store had the big boxes of Pampers at $19 per box. Was there another size/price that I missed or do various stores have various prices for items? I wasn’t able to make this diaper deal work quite as well as the example you gave. Any ideas? Thanks!

I tried to buy mascara this morning using the $2 Wags coupon and the $2 coupon from SS. The clerk told me the Wags coupon was also a manufacturer coupon so I couldn’t stack them. Please help!

I had the same problem last week. Today, I went to another Wags store and had no problem at all using both coupons. From what I can tell, it really just depends on the store as the whether or not you can use both coupons together.

Last week for the Clean&Clear body wash deal, my local CVS did not have that product…so I thought I’d do an ad match at Walmart. I did, but at the register the cashier said I couldn’t use a BOGO coupon and a $2 coupon also. I said I thought that the policy was one coupon per item, but she said not if one is free. I started to not get the product, but went ahead and got them..at $2.99 and BOGO that’s $1.50/ea…which is still a good price..but I probably wouldn’t have bought them had I known that up front. But reading the coupon policy again, it does say “one coupon per item”..so should I have been more insistent?
centsless says
I’ve searched through both coupon inserts from this week’s paper for the Complete multi-purpose solution coupon…and even checked my neighbor’s paper in case it had been left out of mine..but it wasn’t in our paper this week. So, do different cities have different coupons in their SS inserts?

I found hang tags on some of the jars of Red Classico sauce for a free jar when you buy 2 White Sauces. The Alfredo sauce is a part of the JFU $1.49 pricing…combine that free q with two of the $1 peelies from the Garden pasta boxes and pay .98 for 3 jars. For some reason she rang my free q in as $2.29 instead of $1.49 so all 3 jars cost me .18. :D
mrsemerson says
I think that the diaper deal will end up to be 11 for a box. 15.99 is the price of each box when the manufacturer’s coupon is applied. So after coupons, 31.98 minus $10 ECB, leaves you with 21.98, or 10.99 a box, which is still pretty good for a big box.

Tried this twice, once in LITH Dominicks and today in Carpentersville. Both said no to the mfg coupon I brought and today in Carpentersville I brought the coupon policy, spoke with a manager & he said the JFU coupons are MFG coupons that is why I can not use it, it would be using two mfg coupons. The cashier said if it beeps not to be used. I pointed out the price is $1.49 with JFU and my mfg coupon was $2, that was the problem. They continued to disagree and I pointed out that is why I brought the policy and stated it was posted on Jill’s site. They commented Jill has posted incorrect info in the past. I told the manager I thought the JFU was a Dominicks coupon, but he still said no, it is a MFG coupon. Has anyone else had the problem? Or a suggestion?

# 5lb. bags of Value Wise Russet potatoes are $1.99 – that’s about .40/lb.! Super cheap!
…
# 5lb. boxes of Cuties Tangerines are $6.99. Use the $1.50 coupon from 2/27 SS (expires TODAY, 4/4!) and pay $5.49, or $1.10/lb.!
Caputos & Woodmans regularly have 10# bags of russet potatoes for $1.99-$2.40. Just got back from Caputo in Algonquin where the 10# bags were 1.99.
Target had the Cuties on sale a couple weeks ago for $4.99. I used my coupon back then. I thought I posted this one at the time.

I also had an issue at the Vernon Hills Dominick’s. The cashier said that he couldn’t take the coupon because it is an internet coupon that is more than 50% higher than the price of the item. (Yep, that’s a new one on me. Never heard that one before. But, this is Dominick’s we are talking about, and they are known for making up rules as they go along). Anyway, there were others complaining of this same thing on MUM, and Rachel suggested we email Dominick’s, which I have done. No response yet of course. If I don’t hear back from them by tomorrow, I will try again, and again, and again until I hear back from them. I’ve said it before, but I truly don’t know why I keep subjecting myself to Dominick’s. They really aren’t worth the aggravation.

I did the Hershey’s Easter candy deal last week and instead of regular RR, I got $5 “rewards” good toward Hershey’s products. Today I did the Pamper’s deal at a different Wag’s and instead of the regular RR I was expecting, I got $5 toward a future purchase of Pampers products. HUH?! I want regular RR, not product-specific “rewards”. (Note that I did get regular RR as expected, on the other RR deal items I purchased.) Is anyone else experiencing this? I’m frustrated!
brani says
I got this $5 Hershey RR on Saturday – checked the print ad and it didn’t specify it was going to be for next Hersheys purchase, however in the 4/3 flier for Wags it has been changed and now states on your next “Hersheys or Cadbury” purchase. When I used the $5 today it would not scan (cashier finally entered $5 manually). Not really happy with my Wag’s experience the last 2 trips – they wouldn’t let me use $3 RR on today’s purchase and I still haven’t figured out why!

So here’s the deals we did tonight post attending Super-Couponing 2… :) Some of them I’m sure I could have done better, but we were out of things, and some of them were just too good to pass up.
We got 12 boxes on one trip with the cereal/poptart deal, we also got 3 free reusable bags, $2 of free fruit (smaller bag of grapes), 4 cats for milk. I used 4 coupons for the cereal and poptarts. We could have used more, but frankly we got the kinds we liked and sometimes that’s worth it to us. I think for all of it we paid about $15?
Lunchables were $1. That’s the best price I’ve seen pre-coupon and since my illness they really do save the day when I’m sick. So we stocked up and got 10. We got a cat back for $2 off 9. If we use it before the sale is over, we could clean up.
Spaghetti-O’s were 50 cents. She eats them all the time, and again, an easy meal when I’m sick.
An incredible deal was on Edy’s Ice Cream. They had buy 1 get 2 free. So it’s $6.99 for one usually. Now it’s $6.99 for 3. With the high price of ice cream we usually waited for it to be BOGO, or BOGO with a coupon. But, this was a GREAT deal for us!
There was the same deal – Buy one get 2 free on Mrs. Smith’s pies. We did not get them but plan to go back. i wanted to go home and see if there were any coupons before I got any more of these crazy deals! :) I don’t think it’s too early to stock up for Easter, do you? Or maybe Christmas. We do have a chest freezer, LOL.
There were tons and tons of BOGO sales on meat, 33% off Gorton’s fish – which have stacking potential, lots of great deals we knew we could do better on.
We saved so much money. I’ll have to post the receipt totals later, but some of the ice cream was for family who requested we pick it up for them at that price. :)
Also, went to Wag’s for a few of the deals. We bought the Purex, not 2X but the white hypoallergenic one pictured and they said that was okay since it was the one in the picture. We also got 2 PB Eggs with the Hershey deal going on, and 2 Color Wonder Travel sets for 50 cents a piece.
I think my husband has evolved into a Super-Couponer. I’m so proud of him. We walked the aisled and he would point out coupons as we walked.
So thanks Jill, that idea of triple stacking has my coupons flying out of here, and my money staying put!!!

I went last night to do the deal on the Milk Bone and I was not allowed to do it. I picked two Milk Bone dog treats and and Soft and Chewy Dog Snack. I was told that I could not use the Buy two treats get the Chewy Snack free coupon because I did not buy two treats. I told the cashier, I bought two. And she insisted that the other one rang as free; therefore the coupon did not apply. She tried to scan the coupon, but the computer would not take it. Is anyone having the same problem?
I think she should had manually entered the coupon, but with the lack of carrying a coupon policy, I told her to take them off. I checked the policy this morning and I did not see anything related to this.
I have been having problems lately… with Meijer. Pissed because I only wanted to donate them.

I’ve learned by trial and error at Walgreens – you cannot have more coupons than you do products – and RR counts as a coupon. So if you have a coupon for every item you are buying, you cannot also use RR to pay. You also cannot use an RR and get an RR for the same product – so if you are buying, say, a toothbrush and getting a $2 RR, you cannot use that RR to buy another toothbrush in a separate transaction and still get the RR – it won’t print. Hope this helps.

For the 3rd time, Meijer cashiers have not scanned all of my coupons. I watched the girl pick up a couple at a time, and only scanned one. I added my coupon dollar amount up before I went. I should have had $12 off of my bill, instead I only had $4. I was very careful to make sure they had not expired, and was properly using them. Has anyone else had this happen to them? I am about finished with Meijer.

Grumble! So I went to my dominicks to get the free girard’s dressing. I only wanted 2 and had 2 coupons. They beeped and wouldn’t scan so I told them what Jill posted to say “#1, which states “if application of the redemption value yields a price less than zero, the coupon will be redeemed only for the amount that yields a zero price.”” But they said this doesn’t apply to online coupons. Was I right or them? I gave up and just had them take the dressings off, but was bummed!

I tried to use the fresh fruit peelies (2 of them) while buying 6 boxes of Kelloggs cereal yesterday at the Woodstock Jewel and the cashier wouldn’t let me. She said that the manufacturer coupons I was using cancelled out the fruit coupons since they are both from Kelloggs. She told me to use one or the other. I tried to explain that the peelie is for fruit, but she wouldn’t have it. I took back the fruit coupons to use later…I didn’t feel like fighting with her over $2, but I was really annoyed! Grrrr. Not sure how much longer this sale is – but Jewel has the small bags of M&M’s on sale for $1.00 and B1G1 – there is a coupon in the 3/13 RP – B2G1 – so I got three for $1.00! According to “coupon lookup” the coupon has an .89-cent limit – which I honestly did not notice when I clipped the coupon – I think the cashier gave me the $1.00 off. . . But even 3 bags for $1.11 would be a good deal!
Eggs at my Jewel (Morris) were also 79-cents.
3/13 RP also has 75-cents off two boxes of Quaker Chewy Granola bars – no size specified – Jewel (and some other stores) have small boxes that are 3 Chewy Granola Bars for $1.00 – I’ve seen them on endcaps and in clearance/good deal sections – two boxes (six bars) for $1.25 is cheaper than even the Jewel brand.
Thanks for the formula deal and food pantry reminder, Jill! I had a bag of things I’d been meaning to take, and buying the formula reminded me to get it together and drop it off.
Had a good day at Jewel – $118 before coupons, $80 after – plus three Catalinas for free milk. (No peelies on Kellogg’s boxes in Morris, though – and no free grocery bags. . .)
