Deals continuing from previous weeks:
Milk and Cereal Deal continues through 4/16!
Jewel is running a special on Kellogg’s cereal and milk. Kellogg’s cereals are on sale for $1.98 each. Buy 3 cereals and get a Catalina for 1 free gallon of milk. Buy 5 and get 2 free gallons, or buy 7 and get 3 free gallons.
While this is not a great price for the cereal alone, the milk definitely sweetens the deal (many of us do this deal simply to get discounts on ORGANIC milk, as the Catalina’s value is up to $4.19 off a gallon.) Obviously, the best deal involves the 3 gallons, so here are some scenarios…
With no coupons: pay $13.96 for 7 Kellogg’s and 3 gallons of milk.
Blinkie scenario: Look for .70 Kellogg’s coupons in the blinkie dispenser. With 7 blinkies, pay $9.06. If you go with organic milk and actually spend the full $4.19 per coupon on milk, you’re getting $12.57 worth of milk AND 7 boxes of cereal for $9.06. Not bad either.
Note that the price on Frosted Mini Wheats has increased since last week so I removed the Mini Wheats scenario. If you’re still interested in it, it’s posted with last week’s Deals…
If you’re a fan of Jewel’s Wild Harvest line of organics, here’s your chance to take some home cheap or FREE! Print this $1 off any Wild Harvest coupon and look around the store — there are MANY Wild Harvest products that sell for $1, or close to it — crackers, cookies, organic produce… even reusable shopping bags.
Jewel meat deals:
- Jennie-O fresh hen or tom turkeys are $1.79/lb
- Jewel smoked sausages (16oz.) are $1.99
- Fresh leg of lamb is $2.99/lb (yes, slightly over my usual benchmark for meats, but a VERY good per-pound price if you like it)
(Anytime meat is under $1.99 a pound (no matter what it is — beef, pork, poultry, or seafood) it’s a buy in my book, because $1.99 is a cycle low and a good benchmark for meat prices.)
Jewel produce deals:
- Sweet potatoes are .38/lb.
- Broccoli crowns or cauliflower are .98/lb.
- Dole whole sweet pineapples are $1.98 each
- 1lb. bags of Wild Harvest organic baby-cut carrots are $1.99. Use the $1 printable above and pay .99!
- Idaho or red potatoes are $1.98 for a 5lb. bag
- 1lb. packages of strawberries are $3.99, Buy one, get one free – about $2/lb.
Note to my Safeway shoppers reading from outside Chicagoland: In Chicago, Dominick’s currently accepts expired coupons up to one year past the expiration date, so my coupon matchups for Dominick’s deals will include expired coupons. If an expired coupon matchup is provided, it will be noted with (exp) after the date. Also, in Chicago, Dominick’s does not double coupons (as other Safeway stores do) – if your store doubles, you’ll do even better with many of these deals.
Pillsbury refrigerated Easter cookies (bake-at-home kinds) are $1.50 a package. Load the $1-off-2 ecoupon AND the .75 off Pillsbury Holiday ecoupon from ShortCuts. Load the $1 off 2 ecoupon AND the .75 off Pillsbury Holiday ecoupons from Cellfire. Buy 2. Use manufacturer coupons here too! 12/13/09 SS (exp) has a $1 coupon! Find a current $1-off-2 refrigerated cookie dough manufacturer coupon in 2/7 GM, (3/28 SS2 has a .75-off-2 also/instead) and…
… what the heck will happen here? Well, your cookies will definitely be FREE, and with all of the e-stacking, you’ll likely end up with bunches of overage. Many people are reporting ALL of these coupons coming off 2 boxes of Pillsbury Easter cookies. Give it a try, but make sure to have something else in your order to “eat up” that overage.
Want to take this to the next level? Pillsbury cookies are part of the national Pillsbury Catalina deal:
Buy 4 Get $2
Buy 5 Get $3
Buy 6 Get $4
So… figure that in too. Buying 4 (with no coupons) would cost you $6, and you’d get $2 back – with all of the coupons, you can sweeten things even more.
Tropicana and Trop50 orange juices are on sale for $2.50 each. Use the $1 Trop50 coupon from 3/14 RP and take it home for $1.50, or use the $1-off-2 coupon for Tropicana in 2/21 RP – buy 2 and pay $4 for two, or $2 each!
As usual, there are some Dominick’s Super Coupons* in this week’s ads too. Best bets?
- Birds Eye and Birds Eye Steamfresh frozen vegetables (1lb.) are $1.25 with Super Coupon, limit 4. Stack this with either the .35 coupons from 3/21 SS or the $1-off-3 coupon from 3/7 RP and pay less than $1 a bag!
- Safeway Select rising-crust pizzas are $2.99 with Super Coupon.
Dominick’s meat deals:
- Beef back ribs are .99/lb. – a STEAL!
- Fresh Safeway chicken drumsticks, thighs or leg quarters are $1.29/lb.
- Fresh Safeway boneless skinless chicken breast or thighs are $1.99/lb.
- Dominick’s has a coupon in the Sunday flyer for $9 off a shank half ham, butt half ham or spiral sliced ham with coupon, with an additional $20 purchase. The ad shows a bone-in shank half ham for $1.49/lb. pre-coupon and aa Safeway spiral half ham that’s $2.29lb. before coupon.
Dominick’s produce deals:
- Large navel oranges are $1/lb.
- Broccoli crowns or cauliflower are $1.49/lb.
- 2lb. bags of Eating Right baby-cut carrots are $2 – excellent price
- 1lb. packages of strawberries are $3.99, Buy one, get one free – about $2/lb.
- Whole sweet golden pineapples are $1.97 each
- 5lb. boxes of Clementines are $6.99
*A note on Dominick’s Super Coupons:
What does “minimum $10 (or $20) purchase required” mean? To use store coupons that include a minimum purchase requirement, you must spend a minimum dollar amount on that shopping trip. You will reach the minimum purchase amount based upon total purchases after your Club Card discount is applied. For example, the regular retail price of a box of Cheerios (after Club Card discounts) will count toward the minimum purchase required in order to use the Cheerios coupon.
Heading over to Meijer, here are your best deals of the week for Meijer stores in in Algonquin, Aurora, Bloomingdale, Bolingbrook, Elgin, McHenry, Oswego, Plainfield, Rolling Meadows, and St. Charles:
Smart Balance sour cream is on sale for .99 (supposed to be through 4/18.) Use the $1 coupon from 3/21 RP and pay… NOTHING! :)
Splenda sweetener is $2.09 at most Meijer stores. Use the $1 manufacturer coupon from 3/21 SS or 2/28 SS or printable and stack it with the $1-off-2 Meijer store coupon from Mealbox. You’ll pay $1.18 for 2, or .59 each!
If you didn’t buy Philadelphia Cream Cheese during last week’s Jewel Catalina sale, it’s still a pretty good price at Meijer. Kraft Philadelphia Cream Cheese is on sale for .99 a 80z. box, limit 4. It’s also part of a national Catalina sale where if you buy 4, you’ll get a $1 Catalina back. So, buy 4, pay $3.96 and get $1 back! There are also tearpad coupons out for this from not too long ago.
A couple more little Meijer deals…
Meijer eggs are .88 a dozen… very good price.
Land O Lakes 1lb. packages of butter are $2.
Meijer meat deals:
- Cook’s shank portion smoked hams are .77/lb., limit 2, with a $15 purchase
- Cook’s spiral sliced half hams are $1.28/lb., limit 2, with a $15 purchase
- Sugardale whole boneless hams are $1.28/lb.
- Fresh boneless, skinless chicken breasts are $1.79/lb
Meijer produce deals:
- 1lb. packages of strawberries are $1.50
- 10lb. bags of russet potatoes are $1.79 – GREAT price.
- 5lb. boxes of mandarin oranges are $5.99
Note that Meijers in other states are on different schedules. The Illinois Meijers are about a week behind on the sales vs. Indiana/Michigan. If you’re in Illinois, these Meijer deals run through Wednesday. If you’re reading from another state, they ENDED Saturday at your store… Confusing? Yes.
AND, if you shop at the Illinois NILES Meijer location, they haven’t been following the same sale flyer as the other Illinois Meijers, under the convoluted reasoning that because the store is new, people will shop there -without- as many products being on sale. O-kay.
For my Rockford-area shoppers (and Kroger shoppers too!) here are your Hilander sales for the current week…
I Can’t Believe it’s not Butter is on sale for .99 a tub (already an excellent price!) Use the .50 coupon from 3/28 RP – doubled, it makes this FREE!
But why stop there? Promise spread is also on sale for .99 a tub. Use the $1 coupon from 3/14 SS and it’s FREE too!
Bird’s Eye Steamfresh and frozen vegetables are on sale for $1. Use the .35 coupon from 3/21 SS – doubled to .70, it makes your vegetables just .35 a bag!
Post Cereals and granola bars are $1.50 each when purchased in quantities of 4. These also overlap with the national Catalina deal running on Post Pebbles cereal (same one that I featured in last week’s Jewel deals.) If you buy four Post Pebbles Cereals, you’ll receive $3 Catalina (through 4/18.) Use two $1-off-2 coupons in 2/28 SS and 3/14 SS. So, buy 4, and they’ll be $1.50 each ($6 total.) Use two $1-off-2 coupons and pay $4… and get a $3 Catalina back! You’ll ultimately pay $1 for 4, or .25 each… my “buy” point for cereal! :)
Reader Marks_gal posted this great deal on Pillsbury Grands! They’re on sale for .98 a can. Buy 6 and use 2 .75-off-3 Blinkie coupons. Pay $4.38 and get a $4 Catalina for buying 6 or more Grands… that works out to .38 for SIX cans of Grands! Time to stock up!
A couple more little Hilander deals…
Kroger eggs are $1 a dozen…
Kroger butter is $1.67 a pound…
Hilander meat deals:

- Shank portion ham is .87/lb
- Honeysuckle turkey breast is $1.49/lb
- Kroger half spiral ham is $1.67/lb
- Whole semi-boneless ham is $1.69/lb. (hee… “semi-boneless?” Either it has a bone or it doesn’t, right? Hey, I just read the ads…
- Catfish fillets are $2.99/lb – a little higher than my usual benchmark, but we’re nearing the end of our cycle low for seafood, so if you need it…
Hilander produce deals:
- 1lb. packages of strawberries are $1.50
- Seedless white grapes are $1.88/lb
Remember too that Hilander doubles coupons up to .55 face value every day!
Here’s a good deal on Schick razors! Schick Razors (Intuition Plus, Quattro) are on sale for $6.99 each. Buy 2 and get a $5 Target gift card! So, buy one Schick Intuition and one Schick Quattro for Women. Use two $4 coupons from 2/28 SS (both coupons in same insert.) Pay $5.98 and get a $5 gift card back! TWO “expensive” razors for .98 is a steal!
Here’s another good gift-card deal running on many Tampax and Always products. If you have two sets of inserts, you can really shine on this one! Here’s the deal:
Buy two 40-count Tampax Pearl ($6.99 each)
Buy 2 Tampax 18-20-count tampons
Use two $2 off Tampax Pearl coupons from 3/7 PG
Use two “Buy 1 Tampax 36-60 count, get one 18-20 count Tampax free” coupons from 4/4 PG
Pay $9.98 for all 4 boxes and get a $5 gift card back. That’s $4.98 for 4, or about $1.25 a box!
Continuing from previous weeks, there’s a great deal on Crest Kids Toothpaste. It’s on temporary price cut to $1.49. Use the .75 coupon from 3/7 and stack it with this $1 Target Store coupon for $1 off Kids’ Crest. And guess what… it’s FREE!
Over at Kmart, the big big news of the week is that their SUPER DOUBLES double coupon promotion is back! Running 4/4 through 4/12 at these stores, here’s the scoop:
- You must have a Kmart Rewards card to participate. If you don’t have one, you can sign up online or fill out a form in the store.
- Only FIVE coupons will be doubled per customer/card, per day. (Yes, this is disappointing to us, as previous sales’ limits were 25 coupons per customer per day.
- Coupons with a face value of up to and including $2 will be doubled. (.75 doubles to $1.50, $1 doubles to $2, $1.50 doubles to $3, $2 doubles to $4.) You do NOT get coupon overage with doubling as the store is matching the coupon’s value up TO the purchase price, but not over. Coupons with a face value of $2.50 or $3 or more ring at FACE VALUE ONLY.
It’s never super-easy to write matchups for these as Kmart store prices vary a little by EVERY location. Several popular coupon blogs have done some great matchup lists, including Southern Savers, My Frugal Adventures, and Common Sense With Money. The following list was compiled from all of the above sites – if you would like even more matchups, I encourage you to visit them.

Pre-coupon total: $25.97

A Pedialyte and Johnson’s deal
Buy 4 Pedialyte – ($4.99 each)
Buy 2 Johnson’s baby products – $2.99 each
Pre-coupon total: $25.94
Use two B1G1F Pedialyte coupons and two $1 Johnson’s coupons.

An all-Pedialyte deal
If you have 3 B1G1F coupons, you can really rock this.
Buy 6 Pedialyte
Pre-coupon total: $29.94
Use 3 B1G1F Pedialyte coupons
Pay $14.97 and get $10 back! $4.97 for SIX Pedialyte is .83 a bottle. Truly, in all of my years of couponing, I have never, never seen it this cheap, and it’s wonderful to have on hand in case you have a sick little one. And, in case you’re wondering about the expiration date on this, the bottles I bought expire in February 2012.
I’d also expect a big RUN on Pedialyte this week – this is going to be a hot deal. Print/cut some Johnson’s baby coupons to bring with you just in case there are less than 6 bottles on the shelf and you have to switch scenarios when you’re at the store. The 4-bottle scenario is still a steal.
CVS Tip: Remember to always scan your CVS card at the price scanner in the store — it prints bonus coupons for you!

As always, these deals are guidelines for shopping. I can make no guarantee that these items will be on sale, in stock, or available at your area store. I can also not guarantee your Catalinas will print, your cashier will smile at you while you check out, or that your shopping cart won’t have a broken wheel. But I CAN teach you how to save money :)
And, also, as always, a huge thanks to the many readers who posted and emailed deals that made it into today’s Deals of the Week! We’re all in this together, and I sincerely appreciate everyone who spots and passes along good deals that we can all enjoy :) Thank you… to YOU!
* (All You magazine is not a requirement for using the site, but if you like coupons, you will probably really enjoy it. It’s a cheap ($2.49 an issue) magazine that is absolutely filled with coupons each month — typically $50-$100 worth per issue! You can subscribe to All You online and save about $10/year off the cover price. And depending on the values, if you use 2 or 3 coupons alone from each issue, you’ve recouped the cost of the magazine, and you’re on your way to even bigger savings.)

Okay…so I’ve read that All is free with the $2 off. Well the $2 off I have is for 150oz All, not the All on sale for $4. I have a $1 off the smaller on sale size…but it makes it $2. So I didn’t try it. Is this what all the sites are talking about?

My MIL picked up a few coupon booklets for me at Jewel on Friday. She usually shops at Algonquin East so I’m not sure if they’re at all locations.
It is a General Mills coupon booklet, and it looks similar to the “heart” coupon booklet from February. Be on the lookout! :)
PS on a separate subject, Luvs diapers are on sale $6.99 at Target. When I signed up on their website they sent me 2 $4 off diapers Qs in the mail. THat’s $2.99 for a jumbo pack! :)

Let’s sweeten the free gallon of milk deal by adding free Nabisco cookies when you ‘buy’ your gallon of free milk from the cereal deal. If you have a Facebook account, become a fan of Nabisco Cookies on FB, click on the Cookies&Milk tab and click Print Coupon for a FREE package of Nabisco cookies when you buy 1 package of Nabisco Cookies and 1 gallon of milk. You can print a maximum of two coupons. Then, pick up your free cookies with your free gallon of milk. :)
The offer is good for today (4/5) only and the number of coupons is limited (I believe it’s the first 210,000 people) so you’ll need to hurry for this one. The coupons are good through April 23.

The Filippo Berio Olive Oil at Jewel is on sale for $4.99 this week (orig. price = $8.69). Redplum (www.redplum.com) has a $1 coupon…making it $3.99. Not bad for olive oil; I ran out this week and needed more.
jenjen348 says
I did the $30/$10 deal at Jewel today, among other things :) I did purchase more than I needed to get to the $30, but I have a 2 year old and one that is due in 4 days. So this is what I got:
Big Pack size 4 Pampers Cruisers-64 ct=$18.99
Big Pack size 1 Pampers Swaddlers-92ct=$18.99
320ct Pampers sensitive wipes=$8.99
I had 2 $2 off diapers Q, the $1 off store Q from the Jewel flyer, and a $1.50 off wipes Q.
I got back the $10 cat and a surprise $2 OYNO compliments of Pampers. I don’t know what exactly triggered it, but you have the ability to make Buy $30/Get $10 to Buy $30/get $12 :) Yay! $28.47 for all that is not bad in my book.

Hi everyone,
I’ve only been doing this about a year – I’m still pretty new, but getting better.
I can’t see the Suave on sale on Jewel’s online ad.
Is this unadvertised, yet on sale? I’d like to use the 3/$2 and CAT as Jill suggests.
Thanks,
DanaMc

I have a Pampers $2 off on my Avenu, but it says it’s only good for the Mega Packs, which I don’t see on the UPC list. Anybody have the same situation and somehow either get the Mega Packs to trigger the Catalina or the Avenu to discount the Big Packs?

I was excited to see the Pantene Nature Fusion included in the sale at CVS. I still had the 3 coupons for $2 that came with my full size sample a few weeks back so I was able to get 3 Pantenes for FREE. If anyone still has those I’d get over there before they run out.

You get a $5 catalina for spending $15 in Dove products. I did it twice today :-)

I have a question. I had a bunch of coupons for that activia your bucks deal. I bought 6 packs, used the coupons but only got 2.00 your bucks back. Shouldn’t it have been 3 2.00 of them since I bought 6 or can you only do it one time? sorry still new at this. Figuring it all out

I don’t know how many people shop at Aldi regularly. I used to, but since I started following Jill I haven’t had to. I ran into the St. Charles, IL store tonight for a few things and found some great deals:
Yogos – 6 pk – assorted flavors – marked down to $.49 per box
Bakers Corner Confetti White Cake Mix – marked down to $.49 per box
Nature’s Nectar – 10 pk – 100% apple juice pouches – marked down to $1.15 per box
I’ve gotten juice boxes for free before but never the 100% juice ones so I thought that was an especially great deal. They had many other great deals, but I ran out of cash. Darn!

Since couponing, I’ve only gone into Aldi for thier bacon bits which are better than any others I’ve tried. We recently switched to organic milk but Aldi has a gallon for $1.68.

I went to Dominicks to buy the Promise tubs of margarine and they are not on sale for $1.99. I looked through the ad and did not see it on sale. Jill, where did you see this price? I really need tub margarine and wish I had some type of proof that it is on sale for $1.99. Has anyone seen this price?

I went to Jewel in Plainfield this evening and bought:
Huggies size 4 big box $18.99
Huggies wipes refill $5.99
2 Johnson & Johnson baby bubble bath and wash 2@ $4.29
Total: $33.56
No $10 cat printed – and furthermore, the deal wasn’t advertised at all in the store. Anyone else having this problem? I usually have no problems with my cats printing – but the last 2 weeks of cat deals haven’t worked out!

I’m new, which means I sometimes make mistakes. But, I’m pretty organized. Usually the problem is…I don’t fully understand all the rules.
I don’t understand the Your Bucks limits. I didn’t see anything to indicate I needed to separate things out into separate orders – so I ran it together. I expected 5 – $1 You Bucks= Suave – $1 x 2, Jewel sugar – $1×2, Campbell’s soup – $1. I only got one $2 and one $1. (Since I didn’t know which printed and which didn’t, I don’t feel like I can fill out the form on the Your Bucks site to be reimbursed. Next time, I’ll be watching.)
Homelife Awesome Paper towels. In a separate order, I bought 9 rolls and expected 3 – $1. I received 1. My cashier was about to work the service desk and he said to follow him and he’ll refund them and I can do them separately. I got the other $2. Great service guy.
And, Ziplocks, running…something like Buy 3 get$X on a cat. (The white price tag label with red on it.) I bought 3 of the same product and got nothing.
Is that something you usually go to the service desk for? I had a manufacture’s Q, that shouldn’t make a diff, right?
How do we know which Your Bucks deals have stand alone?
Thank you so much!
brc says
Your post indicates that it ends today.

Was just wondering if anyone knew of any CVS’s that had the Pampers big box of diapers that are included in the baby deal in either size newborn, 1 or 6? I went to a CVS in Hoffman Estates and Streamwood, and the sizes in the big packs were very limited. Was just wondering if anyone else was planning on purchasing Pampers at CVS. Thanks!

Hi All,
I’m new so forgive me…but I went to Walgreens to combine a $1.00 coupon for U by Kotex and the $2.50 RR. The cashier told me I couldn’t do it b/c it would not even out and I would get the product for free. She never did try scanning in the coupon. Has anyone else had problems with this? Did she just lie to me so I would not get the free product?
Thanks,
Tina

I went to Target to do the Tampax deal and the cashier said she could only use one manufactored coupon per item and I explained to her how the BOGO coupon was for the smaller box and wasn’t discounting anything off the box that was discounted 2 off. She went and got the manager (who I have history with… LONG story) and the manager said that I couldn’t Use them. Not only did I not get the deal but the cashier started to yell at me!!! So disappointed with target today, especially because I’ve done a similar deal with razors and the tampons! Can Target really not take these or was it just mean people?

how long is the sale at Jewel for BOGO? Freezer space issues otherwise this would be a nobrainer for four of six boxes.

I went to the Crystal Lake Kmart yesterday for the double coupons. I am not sure why, but I WAS able to get the overage on the coupons. They even ate into the tax! I didn’t know this as the transaction was taking place, because their computer screen is so tiny (in comparison to Jewel) and I couldn’t see how it was ringing up. I checked my receipt afterwards, and there it was at the bottom. Sales tax – $0.38. But I only paid $0.22….

Sorry guys! I think my post was unclear — it was a reader deals roundup and my heading was misleading. Lynn found the promise margarine deal at JEWEL, not at Dominick’s:
Lynn has a great deal on Promise margarine: “Promise is on sale for $1.99 (thru 4/11). There is a $1/1 in the 3/14 RP, dropping the price to $.99. There is also a $2 OYNO w/y/b 3. $.97 for 3 pounds (or whatever passes for a pound these days) of tub margarine! The OYNO cat runs thru 4/18.”

Just went to Jewel to score the deal on the Suave Deodarant. My yourbucks didn’t print. Spoke with the manager & he looked it up in his master yourbucks sheet from his office and said that the yourbucks ended yesterday 4/6. I’m new to this and thought Jill’s posts said that deals listed were good through Wednesday unless noted. Anyone have some insite?

I know I saw the Huggies & J&J Your Bucks at some point on my account, but when I went to buy the deal yesterday, the $10 CAT printed, but the $7 ($3, $1, $3) You Bucks didn’t print. I forgot to check my Your Bucks account yesterday and today of course all those items aren’t there anymore. I spoke with c/s and she said I can contact Your Bucks, but I wonder when they expired. Any idea? Was it on 4/6 and I missed it by 1 day (so sad, if that’s true)???

Someone gave me their ECBs for an item I still wanted to purchase at CVS. Can I use their ECBs to puchase it myself or is it like Walgreens where you can’t use the RR from the same item to buy it again?

I know Kmart can’t double buy 1 get 1 free coupons but can I still use them while using my 5 coupons to be doubled or do they count as part of the five. Also could I use them with my $10 off coupon? Sorry, still trying to figure all this out. But it’s been soo fun so far!
