Deals of the Week for August 8, 2011

Meijer’s having a Buy $10 Kellogg’s, get $10 off 3 packages of Fruit of the Loom Basics instant-savings sale through 8/10/11! You must buy the Fruit of the Loom items in the same transaction as the Kellogg’s. Are you a Meijer Mperks member? Mperks is a different set of electronic Meijer coupons. They’re attached to your cellphone number, but aside from one text message to activate your account, you do not need to use text messaging to continually use them. Once you register with Meijer Mperks, you log into the Mperks website and click the electronic coupons you’d like to load to your account. Then, when you’re at the checkout, type your cellphone number into the keypad at the register, and your coupons come off automatically.

Off to Target…
View weekly ad | Print store coupons from Target.com …

If you did not receive the Target “Back to School” coupon mailer a couple of weeks ago in the mail, Target put some of those great store coupons online on their site this week.

If you need adhesive bandages, print the .75 coupon for NexCare from the link (or clip it from the mailer.) NexCare kids’ bandages are $1.87 a box. Stack that .75 coupon with the .55 coupon from the 4/3 SS. After coupons, you’ll pay .57! Not free, but not bad.

Check out the clothing coupons too that they’ve added to their site too. There’s a $3 off Denim Jeans coupon there, and several readers have reported finding jeans for $4.98 on clearance again (remember that sale back in March?) With coupon, you’re looking at $1.98! There are also coupons for 20% off two kids denim, and 20% off Shaun White clothing.

Target has launched mobile Target coupons which you can load to your phone. They are Target store coupons that you can stack manufacturer coupons with. Load coupons here. You can also print these offers by going to www.target.com/save and entering your phone number.

Remember too that you get .05 off your total at Target for each reusable bag you bring and use. If you pay with the Target credit card, you receive another 5% off.

Heading to Walgreens (View weekly ad)…

Coupon books to look for at Walgreens: Walgreens Infant Care (has a $2 coupon inside for Walgreens brand diapers, which often go on sale. All expire 12/2011.)

Keri lotion is FREE and a moneymaker after Register Rewards! It’s on sale for $5.99 with $5 back in RRs. Use the $2 coupon from the 7/17 SS or a printable, pay $3.99 and get $5 back! You’re up $1.01… and you’ve got FREE Keri!

Listerine Smart Rinse is on sale for $3 a bottle. Buy it and get $2 back in Register Rewards! Use the $1 coupon from 7/31 SS or 1/9 SS2. Pay $2 and get $2 back, making this FREE!

Colgate Total toothpaste is cheap after a coupon/Register Rewards deal too. It’s on sale for $3 a tube. Buy two and get $4 back in RRs. Use the .75 coupon from 7/31 SS.

With one coupon, pay $5.25 and get $4 back in RRs. $1.25 for two is about .63 each.

With two coupons, pay $4.50 and get $4 back in RRs. That’s .50 for TWO, or .25 each!

Here’s a great deal on Huggies baby wipes! The 184-216ct. packages are on sale for $5.99. The August Walgreens coupon book (available on racks in front of the store) has a $2 store coupon, and there’s a .50 off coupon in the 7/17 SS. After both coupons, pay $3.49!

This deal become even more fun if you have the Walgreens Infant Care coupon books (started showing up in stores in early 2011.) There’s a $2 store coupon for the big Huggies wipes in this book too! The coupons DO have different bar codes, but I’m not sure if they will both scan (usually Wags will take two store coupons on the same item, as long as the dollar values are different. With these being the same… not sure what will happen!) But, if you’ve got both, use that one here too. If it all comes together, you’ll pay $1.49 for the BIG pack!

Another Huggies deal?

Huggies Slip-On Diapers (like pull-ups, sort of?) are $9.99 per jumbo pack. Buy one and get $2 in Register Rewards! Use the $1.50 coupon from 7/17 SS. You’ll pay $8.49 and get $2 back, making these $6.49.

Here’s a weird little deal… if it works! I’ve confessed before to my affinity for Carmex lip balm. This week’s Wags ad has a Buy One Get One Free store coupon for Carmex. But there’s ANOTHER Carmex coupon on page 15 for .99 Carmex!

If both of these scan correctly in the same transaction, buy two Carmex. You -should- pay .99 for two, or about .50 each.

CVS is again running a gas card promotion. Spend $30 on selected items in the ad and get a $10 gas card. You do NOT have to purchase all $30 in the same shopping trip, but you DO have to purchase $30 worth in this particular calendar week — it will not carry over to next week. Your CVS Extra Care Card will track the $30 for you.

CVS Tip: Remember to always scan your CVS card at the Coupon Center scanner in the store — it prints bonus coupons for you!

Wrapping things up with Walmart…

Coupon books to look for at Walmart: “Bright Ideas, Delicious Cereals“ (Kellogg’s cereal and breakfast coupons)

Policies to know:

• Walmart will price match any competitor’s advertised price. Bring the other store’s flyers with you to the store.
   
• With the new coupon policy, Walmart will also accept other store’s STORE coupons with an actual price listed on them. For example, a Dominick’s store coupon advertising “.99 Ragu Pasta Sauce” would be accepted. A Walgreens store coupon advertising “2/$1 Morton’s Salt” would be accepted. (A Target store coupon for “$2.50 off Huggies” would not, because it does not show the actual selling price of the item.)
   
• With the new coupon policy, Walmart will also accept competitor’s Catalina manufacturer coupons. You can get a Catalina for $1 off Snuggle and use it at Walmart.
   
• Walmart’s new coupon policy specifically addresses coupon overage. It says “Coupons may exceed the price of the item. Change may be given or applied toward the cost of the basket purchase.”
   

I would print a copy and carry a copy of the coupon policy with you if you anticipate any issues.

Will I blog Walmart in its entirety each week?

I will not be blogging entire writeups for Walmart each week. Every store location’s regular prices are different, and Walmart does not issue a weekly ad every week. I’ve listed Walmart at the end of each week’s Deals writeup, because if you see any deals above that you want, you’ll likely also be able to do them at Walmart.
