Hello, Super-Couponers! Christmas is just THREE days away! Hopefully everyone found enough time last week to Christmas-shop amidst all of the great, cheap ham and turkey runs to Jewel! How many hams and turkey breasts did you buy? :)
This week’s 12/20 newspaper contained NO inserts – which is normal for a holiday week. However, if you’ve been Super-Couponing for any length of time, you’re saving ALL your newspaper inserts too, so we still have plenty of good coupons to play with! Note though that there were 3 coupons worth pulling from the Tribune this week though — a one-page insert for Duracell batteries, a B1G1F Craisins (cranberry raisins) coupon from the Parade magazine, and a $5 off $50 coupon for Jewel in section one, page 11, of the actual newspaper. Clip those to have on hand…
If you’re new to the site, take a quick minute to read Using this site and bring yourself up to speed on all the coupon lingo and abbreviations. It’s a good idea to save the grocery and drugstore flyers from both Wednesday and Sunday each week to have on hand & refer to too as you go through the deals! And, if you’re new to couponing in general, check out my Super-Couponing® website for a list of coupon classes (most are FREE!) and easy instructions on how to start using coupons effectively!
AND… my Super-Couponing® class is now available on DVD! Own the 72-minute class and watch it whenever you like! Click for a video preview & learn how to order!

Grocery Deals
Starting at Jewel, here’s an exception to the “deals ending Wednesday” rule! During Christmas week, stores tend to have less sales, and these deals actually all run through 12/26… so you’ve got MORE time to shop.
LAST WEEK for this deal! Gillette Foamy shaving cream is on sale for $1, and there’s a $1 coupon in the 11/29 PG insert. I have long said that the personal care items are some of the easiest products to get for free with coupons, and this is no exception. Enjoy this FREE shaving cream!
Rachel at Mashup Mom spotted a fabulous deal on Wholly Guacamole! Wholly Guacamole (found in the produce department) is on sale for $5.49, buy one get one free. Use this printable B1G1F coupon and go get TWO for free! Note that Jewel does not accept coupons for FREE items in excess of $5. This is kind of a grey area as it’s a B1G1F. I’ve heard of some Jewels choosing to apply up to $5 to the order, leaving shoppers with a .49 balance for two… which is still a smashing deal for fresh guac.
Now, the great HAM deals at Jewel continue this week! You’ll need that $9 off ham coupon from the weekly flyer (last week’s Wednesday Tribune has one too in the Good Eating section).
Now, look for the SMALLEST ham you can find. Many blog readers have been buying hams in the $9-$10 range and paying under a buck for them with this fabulous coupon!
Note that the ham coupon also requires a $20 Jewel purchase, but you can fill that $20 with any other items, especially any free coupons you’ve got that are expiring 12/31!
Now, here’s a cheap cereal deal for those of you with access to two computers. Jewel currently has the following Kellogg’s cereals on sale for $1.67 a box when you buy in quantities of 3:
Apple Jacks
Cocoa Krispies
Corn Flakes
Corn Pops
Crispix
Frosted Flakes
Raisin Bran
Rice Krispies
So far, not much of a deal. But here’s where the fun begins… go to Target’s site and print THREE $5-off-4 Kellogg’s cereals coupons. As these have a print limit of two per computer, you’ll need access to a second to get three in hand. While printables from Target’s site, these coupons are MANUFACTURER coupons, and any store can redeem them.
So, buy 12 boxes (mix or match varieties. We need 12 as we have to buy in quantities divisible by 3 — and with the $5-off-4 coupons, we also need to get to a total where each box can have a coupon applied to it.
12 boxes = $20.04
Minus $15 (3 $5 coupons)
Pay $5.04 for 12 boxes of cereal, or .42 per box!
Note that Dominick’s also has Kellogg’s on sale for $1.49 a box this week, but most Dominick’s are funny about taking more than one like printable coupon per transaction. If yours will take three, you’ll pay just .24 a box for your 12.
Lastly, we are nearing the end of 2009! If you did the Jewel Freezer Deal this February and still have coupons for free items, don’t forget about them. Of course we want to use them during those good Buy One Get One Free sales, but if they haven’t lined up with any, better to use than lose — and of course, they’re great ways to pad up to $20 to use the $9 ham coupon too!

Over at Dominick’s, did you see the AMAZING set of coupons inside this week’s flyer? They are offering a FREE product every day with a minimum $20 purchase*. The products are:
Dec. 22 – FREE Dominick’s mini muffins – 12 ct. pumpkin, chocolate chip or orange cranberry
Dec. 23 – FREE Butternut Brown N’ Serve Rolls
Dec. 24 – FREE Safeway 2-liter club soda
Now, if you like these coupons but plan to hit Jewel this week too, you may wish to take a look at this discussion on Jewel’s policy on competitor store-brand coupons…
Kellogg’s cereals are on sale from .99-$1.49 a box when purchased in quantities of 3.
Easy deal here? Buy 3 boxes of Kellogg’s Corn Flakes.
With the $1 Corn Flakes coupon from 11/8 RP, you’ll get these for FREE! If you don’t have multiples of this coupon, note that you will need to buy three boxes to get the .99 price. There is also a $1.50 off 2 printable here. With this, your next two boxes will cost you a quarter apiece (which many of you know is MY price point for buying any cereal :) And, here’s another link for $1.50 off 2 Kellogg’s Corn Flakes!
Now through 1/6! Dominick’s has a cracker deal going on many varities of crackers. It’s a “Buy 5, save $5,” and the prices shown assume you are buying in quantities of 5. You can buy many multiples of 5 in the same transaction too (5, 10, 15) to get the prices. Here are your items and matchups…
General coupons to use with any of the following:
– 11/8 SS – $1 off Nabisco crackers
– 12/13 SS – $1 off 2 Nabisco crackers
– 8/23 SS – .75 off 2 Nabisco crackers
Nabisco “Back to School” coupon book found in stores in September has MANY $1 off 2 coupons for these as well, as does the “Jingle In Your Holiday” Nabisco coupon book currently found near Nabisco displays in many Dominick’s.
.99 when you buy in quantities of 5:

Mix and match any way you like here… but any way you look at it, you’re getting some CHEAP or FREE (if you buy the .99 Cheese Nips, with a $1 coupon) crackers! :)
Note too that the Jingle In Your Holiday coupon book contains a $10 rebate when you buy $10 worth of Nabisco crackers. While the Cheese Nips aren’t included, many other varieties (Ritz, Triscuit, Wheat Thins) are — and with coupons, you can take home 10 boxes of those for $1 each… then send in for your $10 rebate!
A note on Dominick’s Super Coupons: All Super Coupons require a total purchase of $20 or more to use. But, the “Minimum $20 purchase” applies to the REGULAR, non-sale price of those items. Really! It’s even spelled out very well on Safeway’s corporate site:
What does “minimum $10 (or $20) purchase required” mean? To use store coupons that include a minimum purchase requirement, you must spend a minimum dollar amount on that shopping trip. You will reach the minimum purchase amount based upon total purchases before your Club Card discount is applied. This total will include the coupon item’s regular price, not the discounted price. For example, the regular retail price of a box of Cheerios (before coupon and before Club Card discounts) will count toward the minimum purchase required in order to use the Cheerios coupon.
So, knowing this, getting over that $20 mark isn’t as hard as it seems…
Lastly, note that some stores are offering 10% off any Safeway house brand products from now until the end of the year! I don’t have a complete list of which stores are participating (saw the signs at the Crystal Lake store) but it comes off automatically at the register when your Fresh Values card is scanned… and is a good way to bring prices of meats, dairy and other house-branded items down even more!
At Meijer, refrigerated cookie dough is really cheap (AGAIN!) Simply Cookies are on sale for $1.79. With the $1 coupon from 12/13 GM, pay just .79…
Philadelphia Cream Cheese is cheap this week too. It’s on sale for .99 an 8oz. package. Buy 3, use the $1 off 3 coupon from 11/15 RP, and you’ll pay just .66 per package!
But the big deal of the week at Meijer? Jell-O! Jell-o is on sale for .50 a box. Buy 6 and get a $2 Catalina. With no coupons, pay $3 and get $2 back… that’s $1 for 6 boxes of Jell-o! Many stores have had Blinkie coupons recently for Jello — if you’ve got them, use them here, as you could make this a moneymaker…
Note that Meijers in other states are on different schedules. The Illinois Meijers are about a week behind on the sales vs. Indiana/Michigan. If you’re in Illinois, these Meijer deals run through Wednesday. If you’re reading from another state, they ENDED Saturday at your store… Confusing? Yes.

For my Rockford-area readers, Hilander has some good deals this week too.
GUM children’s toothbrushes are on sale for $1 each. With the .75 coupon from 11/15 RP, they’re just .25…
Green Giant frozen boxed vegetables are cheap too! On sale for $1, buy 2, use the .50 off 2 coupon printables here and here. The coupon will double to $1. Now, load the .50 coupon from Cellfire and pay .50 for both, or .25 each!
How about some FREE cake mix? Duncan Hines cake mix is $1 too. With the .55 coupon from 10/11 SS doubled to $1, it’s FREE!
And, Clementines are REALLY cheap this week too! A 3lb. bag of Cuties Clementines is on sale for $3.77, and the .55 coupon from 12/6 SS doubled to $1, pay just $2.77!
Continuing this week, Kroger 1/2 gallons milk and shredded or brick cheeses are on sale for $1.25 each.
The milk and cheese coupons from www.dairymakessense.com would work well here. If you’re buying 2 gallons of milk (4 half-gallons,) use the $1 off chocolate milk coupon to get a 1/2 gallon of chocolate for a quarter!
And, the coupons for $1.50 off 2lbs of cheese can be applied to multiple bags of Kroger cheese here too.
Off to Target… my longtime blog readers may remember a crazy deal last winter on RayOVac batteries. During that sale, Target had RayOVacs in the Dollar Spot… at the same time that RayOVac had a $1 unlimited printable on their site.
Think about that for a moment. Oh yes. Many of us didn’t buy batteries for a very, very long time.
Wish you had gotten in on that?
Incredibly, the deal is back. Visit www.rayovacbonus.com and enter coupon code 74016761. You’ll get an unlimited-print $1 RayOVac coupon!
Keep in mind this coupon is for ALKALINE batteries only (Target Dollar Spot has other RayOVac varieties too.) And… enjoy those free batteries!
We’ve seen some really good deals at Target over the past few weeks on children’s movies! Over the past few weeks, many people picked up “Santa Buddies” and “G-Force” incredibly cheaply with a great coupon stack… and here’s a similar deal!
The Disney movie “Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure” is on sale for $19.99 on Blu-Ray DVD. Visit the Disney Movie Rewards site, create an account (it’s free!) and print this $10 manufacturer coupon (enter promo code GIFT to access coupon) … then stack it with this $5 Target coupon for any Blu-Ray DVD… and you will take Tinker Bell home for just $4.99!
With all of these Disney DVD deals lately, remember to enter your rewards points from the DVD packages into your Disney Rewards account too… and get credits toward additional prizes or future DVDs!
The great deal on Swiss Miss that will not only net you FREE hot cocoa, but overage too continues this week… Swiss Miss is currently selling for .97 a box at many Target stores. Use the $1 off Swiss Miss Target coupon (already making it free) stacked with the $.50 off 2 Swiss Miss coupon from 11/15 SS. Buy 2 boxes and pay nothing… with .06 overage! If your Target will allow you to use a second $1 Target coupon on the second box (some stick tight to one Target coupon per transaction) you’ll get $1.06 overage for your two.
Drugstore Deals
Heading to Walgreens, St. Ives Body Wash (13.5 oz) is CHEAP after Register Rewards! It’s $1.49 with the coupon in this week’s Walgreens flyer. Stack that with a $1 manufacturer coupon from 11/15 SS and pay just .49!
Need cheap stocking stuffers for kids? Hot Wheels cars are just .49 with the coupon from this week’s flyer, limit 10! That’s a great deal… and for those of you that have daughters, don’t be afraid to buy them some cars for Christmas too! As a kid, I had QUITE the vintage Hot Wheels collection… [ thanks Dad :) ]
And finally, over at CVS, here are some good free-after-ECB products…
Thermacare heat wraps (neck-to-arm, 1ct) are on sale for $2.99 with $2.99 back in Extra Care Bucks. Free after ECB!
Oral B dental flosses are on sale for $2.88 with a $2 ECB. Make it a small moneymaker with the $1 coupon from 11/29 PG… free floss, and you’re up .12 too!
Listerine 500ml mouthwash is $3.99 with a $3 ECB. Use the $1 coupon from 12/6 RP, and it’s FREE!
Altieril sleep aid is $1.99 with $1.99 back in ECBs too… free!
Complete multi-purpose solution is $9.99 with $9.99 back in ECBs. Make it a moneymaker with the $1 coupon from 10/25 RP!
And the big moneymaker (and the one I’ve already found sold out everywhere?) Nivea body wash. It’s $5.99 with a $5 ECB – use a $2 coupon from 12/13 RP, 12/6 RP, 11/1 RP, 10/11 RP or a printable, pay $3.99 and get $5 back! FREE and a nice moneymaker!

As always, these deals are guidelines for shopping. I can make no guarantee that these items will be on sale, in stock, or available at your area store. I can also not guarantee your Catalinas will print, your cashier will smile at you while you check out, or that your shopping cart won’t have a broken wheel. But I CAN teach you how to save money :)
* (All You magazine is not a requirement for using the site, but if you like coupons, you will probably really enjoy it. It’s a cheap ($2.49 an issue) magazine that is absolutely filled with coupons each month — typically 20-30 of them. Many websites are now tracking the All You coupons and matching them to deals, just as they do with the newspaper coupon inserts. You can subscribe to All You online and save about $10/year off the cover price. And depending on the values, if you use 2 or 3 coupons alone from each issue, you’ve recouped the cost of the magazine, and you’re on your way to even bigger savings.)

IF you can print 2 of the IPs for the shampoo, Wags has them 2 for $2!! And they don’t beep when you use em! BUT, with Wags’ weird pricing, if you only buy one, it’s $1.29 (or so).

Actually when I tried to use the BOGO Wholly Guacamole coupon at Jewel, the Jewel coupon policy the CS showed me said NO internet coupons over $5. – whether it is free or not. (Two other Jewels took them without question)

Jewel would not let me use the Target coupon 5.00 off 4 cereals because they do not accept any internet coupon 5.00 or over.

Especially to Jill who has changed the way we shop and therefore our lives! Love those bargains! Please keep up the great work. We REALLY do appreciate your hard work and enthusiasm.

I notice that when I print more than one Rayovac coupon, they are exactly the same thing, with exactly the same numbers on it.
Is this okay? I just want to be sure before I use these. I don’t want to unknowingly commit coupon fraud.

on Wednesday 12/23/09 at the Algonquin store on Randall and the price rang up $2.89 no $1.79. Was this sale already over or is it for this coming week? Never know because of the different sales weeks for this store depending on location.
