Grocery Deals
Starting at Jewel, here’s a great deal on Butterball turkey products! 1lb. packages of Butterball ground turkey, turkey burgers and turkey Italian sausage for $4.99, Buy One Get One Free. If you did the Jewel Preferred Card Update promotion in 2009, there’s a .75 off Butterball turkey products coupon inside the coupon book. If you didn’t, there’s a printable here. Because Jewel allows us to use one coupon on each item in a B1G1F sale, we’re going to use two here… and the price of our Butterball is going to drop to $3.49 for TWO… or $1.75 a package! Great price!
Fisher Honey-Roasted Peanuts (14oz.) are on sale for $3.89, Buy One, Get One Free. Again, we’ll use two coupons (one on each item purchased) to bring the price of BOTH down! Use two $1 coupons, and you’ll pay just $1.89 for two… just .95 a package!
And where do you get those $1 coupons? There are a LOT of current coupons for this deal… a printable (print 2!), 1/10 SS, 12/13/09 SS, 12/6/09 SS, 11/22/09 SS, and 11/15/09 SS! That’s a LOT of cheap peanuts!
UPDATE: Fisher Fusions nut mixes (think trail mix, cinnamon-coated nuts, etc) are on sale for $1.50 a 5-ounce bag. With ANY of these coupons, they’re .50!
Here’s a deal for my beautiful daughter, “Coupon Heiress” on our Forum… she loves pierogies, and they are CHEAP this week! Mrs. T’s Pierogies (12-16oz.) are on sale for $3.49, Buy One, Get One Free. Use the $1-off-2 coupon from 1/10 RP and take 2 packages home for $2.49, or about $1.24 each!
(Also, Happy Birthday, Coupon Heiress! She’s turning 14 today… guess I’d better make her some pierogies tonight!)
If you’re a fan of Jewel’s Wild Harvest line of organics, here’s your chance to take some home FREE! Numerous Wild Harvest snacks are on clearance for $1 at many stores (look for herbed saltines, “Endangered Species” kids’ crackers [cheddar shapes, like Goldfish] and a few others. Print this $1 off any Wild Harvest coupon (you can print 2!) and these will be FREE!
Incidentally, this is a great coupon for any Wild Harvest organic product that you like — organic milk and produce come to mind. Some readers have reported seeing Wild Harvest frozen waffles on clearance for $1.49 – with the coupon, they’ll be just .49. Others saw mini oatmeal cookies clearanced to $1.50 — just .50 with coupon! Jars of Wild Harvest baby food are under a buck – FREE with this coupon. One reader spotted Wild Harvest tortilla chips B1G1F for $2.89. With 2 coupons, they’re .89 for BOTH. And another reader used two of these coupons in conjunction with the “Buy 2 Wild Harvest Pizzas, get 1 free” coupon (WH pizzas reportedly at $4.99 each) that’s also at www.wildharvestorganic.com.
Arnold natural breads are on sale for $1.50 a loaf. The Jewel Preferred Card Update coupon book has a $1 coupon, making this .50 a loaf! The 12/6 SS insert has a .55 coupon, making this .95! Either way, this is a GREAT price for natural/healthier bread!
Continuing from last week, many people are reporting $1 off Crest Pro Health toothpaste on their Avenu. Cinnamon and Night varieties of Pro Health are on clearance for $1.59-$2.14 at most stores. If your store’s priced at $1.59, stack that $1 electronic coupon with the $1 Crest coupon from 12/27 PG or the .75 coupon from 1/17 PG… with the $1 coupon, this is a .41 moneymaker! With the .75, it’s a .16 moneymaker. Either way… you’re getting FREE toothpaste with overage!
If you’ve got a baby at home, check your Avenu electronic coupons – many readers are reporting $1.25 or $1.50 off Pampers Baby Wipes. Tubs of Pampers wipes are on sale for $1.99. If you’ve got this great Avenu discount, stack it with the .50 manufacturer coupon from 12/27 PG – and you’ll either get these free with .01 overage or pay .25 a tub — either way, a SUPER price for wipes!
(And if you’re looking for diaper deals, we have some good ones at Target this week too… keep reading…)
Several of our Forum readers spotted a good deal on Rubbermaid food storage containers too. They’re on sale (various sizes) starting at $1.73. Use the $1 coupon from 1/3 SS to take these home for .73!
Old Orchard 64oz apple juice is $1.29 a bottle! No coupon needed… and that’s a great price!
Promise buttery spread is on sale for $1.50 a tub. Use the $1 coupon in 11/15 RP and it’s yours for .50!
Anytime meat is under $1.99 a pound (no matter what it is — beef, pork, poultry, or seafood) it’s a buy in my book, because $1.99 is a cycle low and a good benchmark for meat prices.
Jewel meat deals:
- Jennie-O Turkey Breast – .99/lb (MONDAY ONLY!)
- Jewel Whole Chicken Fryer – .99/lb
- Bone-in Country Style Pork Ribs – $1.29/lb
- 80% Lean Ground Chuck – $1.99/lb
- Center Cut Pork Rib or Loin Chops – $1.99/lb
Jewel produce deals:
- 8lb. bag of California navel oranges – $3.48 – that’s .44/lb
- 3lb. bag Gala or Red Delicious apples – $1.88 – that’s .63/lb
Jewel is also running a “Fav 4” deal on produce – any 4 items in the ad for $9.99. Honestly, this is not a good price for much of anything included in this deal. Ditto the “Buy 3lb. roast at $10, get carrots, potatoes and celery free – okay if you need it, but not a blockbuster.)
Lastly, many, many readers have anxiously been awaiting news of Jewel’s annual FREEZER DEAL! While it’s not in the ad yet (the ad shown is from a previous year) the big date is supposed to coincide with Super Bowl Sunday — February 7th! I’ll keep you posted as we get closer.
In my Super-Couponing classes, people often ask how to save on meats. Meats cycle in price just like anything else, and as I’ve posted many times, I watch for meats at or below my benchmark price ($1.99) – then buy in quantity and put them in my freezer. This Jewel freezer sale is the best, cheapest way to get a second freezer for your household. In past years, Jewel has sold this 5.2 cubic foot Igloo chest freezer for $149… and it comes with $150 worth of FREE frozen food coupons! So, you’re essentially buying the food and getting the freezer free, or vice versa.
However, those coupons become even more valuable when paired with B1G1F sales on frozen food — doubling your investment on those products! This deal only comes around once a year, so start thinking about whether you’ve got room in your garage, basement, or house for another freezer…
Let’s talk Dominick’s! Before we dig into this week’s Dominick’s deals, if you haven’t read or had a chance to respond to this Dominick’s discussion regarding customer service and coupon issues in their stores, please do. I have been in touch with Dominick’s Public Affairs department, and they are reading this discussion. So many readers have taken a few moments to share their concerns.
If there is anything (good or bad) you’d like to share or add to this discussion of coupon acceptance at Dominick’s, please take a moment to do so.
And now… on to the Dominick’s deals!
Forum reader Soapboxtray spotted a nice freebie! PureVia sweetener is on sale for $1.99. Use the $2 coupon in 1/3 SS1 and it’s yours… FREE! PureVia is made from Stevia, a natural, plant-based sweetener, and each box contains 40 single servings.
2-bar packs of Lever 2000 soap are on sale for .88 each. Use the .50 coupons from 7/12/09 RP and pay just .38 for each pack!
Here’s a great deal on Ocean Spray Craisins (dried cranberries.) You’ll need the “Buy one 6oz Ocean Spray Craisins dried cranberries and get one 100 calorie six-count pack Craisins free” coupon, which appeared in the Dec. 20, 2009 issue of Parade Magazine (found in the Chicago Tribune inserts and other newspapers – up to $3 value, exp. 2/28/10.)
There’s a reason I try to notify my readers of any high-value coupons in the Sunday paper that -aren’t- in the inserts – save them for a future deal too! For me, I just pulled these pages out of Parade and stuck them with my other 12/20/09 inserts.
So, here’s the deal! 6oz. Ocean Spray Craisins are on sale for $2.99 a package.. buy one get one free! So, buy 2 package, AND buy a package of 100-calorie six-count Craisins ($2.50.) The B1G1F coupon makes the 100 calorie package FREE… and one of the Craisins packs will be free with the store’s sale. In short, you’ll pay $2.99 for THREE!
Now, if you get multiple papers and have multiples of this coupon — with 2 coupons, you’ll also buy 2 6oz. Craisins, but you’ll also buy TWO 100-calorie Craisins. Since you’re already buying two of the big packages, with two coupons, you’ll get TWO 100-calorie packs FREE… again, paying $2.99 for EVERYTHING!
Softsoap 7.5 ounce pumps have dropped in price AGAIN! Even cheaper than last week, they’re now just .88 apiece. There are numerous .35 coupons out for these that will bring them down to just .53 each: 4/26/09 SS, 3/29/09 SS, 2/1/09 SS, or 1/4/09 SS. And, here’s a .40 printable that will drop the price to .48 for one of your bottles. Cheap little pump soaps!
Dominick’s has got a good “Buy 3, save $3” instant-savings deal going. Mix or match and buy in groups of three, and you’ll save $3 for every 3 that you buy! You can buy 3, 6, 9, 12 or more at a time, but make sure you stay with multiples of 3 to receive the instant savings.

Dominick’s meat deals:
As posted above, meats under $1.99 a pound are a buy in my book, because $1.99 is a cycle low and a good benchmark for meat prices. But look… all of these meats are .99 a pound… HALF of our guideline for an already-good price!
- Pork Loin Rib chops
- Boneless pork sirloin chops
- Safeway smoked shank half ham
- Honeysuckle or Jennie-O frozen turkey breast 5-9lbs.
– $1 off Jennie O – 8/30/09 SS, 7/26/09 SS
– $1 off 2 Jennie O – 1/3 SS1
(Note – buying the 5lb turkey breast with a $1 coupon would cost about $3.95 – effectively reducing your per-pound price to .79/lb…)
(The last time Dominick’s had this sale on the rib chops, I bought TWENTY POUNDS of them… and paid under $20. If you’ve got a freezer, this is a great way to beat higher-cycle meat prices… stock UP when prices are low!) And if you DON’T have a freezer…
Dominick’s produce deals:
The following produce items are ALL on sale for .99/lb:
- Crisp Gala or large Fuji apples
- 5lb. bag Idaho Russet potatoes

*A note on Dominick’s Super Coupons: All Super Coupons require a total purchase of $10 or more to use. But, the “Minimum $10 purchase” applies to the REGULAR, non-sale price of those items. Really! It’s even spelled out very well on Safeway’s corporate site:
What does “minimum $10 (or $20) purchase required” mean? To use store coupons that include a minimum purchase requirement, you must spend a minimum dollar amount on that shopping trip. You will reach the minimum purchase amount based upon total purchases before your Club Card discount is applied. This total will include the coupon item’s regular price, not the discounted price. For example, the regular retail price of a box of Cheerios (before coupon and before Club Card discounts) will count toward the minimum purchase required in order to use the Cheerios coupon.
So, knowing this, getting over that qualifying dollar amount isn’t as hard as it seems.
At Meijer, they have a good deal running on Quaker Oatmeal. Quaker Quick or Old-Fashioned Oats are on sale for $1.49 a package. When you buy 5 or more Quaker oatmeal , you’ll receive a Catalina for a FREE carton of Tropicana orange juice! This deal gets even better, as Meijer Mealbox has printable coupons for $1 off 2 Quaker oatmeal products.

AND… here’s another way to work the deal. It’s not that much more expensive to add a 6th package of oatmeal, as you’ll be able to use another $1-off-2 Mealbox coupon too:
Buy 6 Quaker Quick or Old-Fashioned Oats ($8.94)
Print & use three Mealbox $1 coupons ($5.94)
Stack them with this $1 printable manufacturer coupon (one-time printable)

Note that Meijers in other states are on different schedules. The Illinois Meijers are about a week behind on the sales vs. Indiana/Michigan. If you’re in Illinois, these Meijer deals run through Wednesday. If you’re reading from another state, they ENDED Saturday at your store… Confusing? Yes.

But the REAL big deal this week? A Target diaper deal! It’s stock-up time if you’ve got a little one in diapers or training pants. The deal is this…

Many readers have reported finding good deals on GE Energy Smart light bulbs at Target. There are a lot of current coupons available for these – 1/3 SS1, 11/23 SS have $1 manufacturer coupons – here’s a printable too. And, the 1/10 SS insert has a $2 Target store coupon, and and Section 1 of the 1/19 Tribune had a $1.50 Target store coupon. Stacked, you’re looking at $2.50-$3 in coupon value toward GE light bulbs — many of which for sell less than that… netting you FREE light bulbs!
This week, Target is also selling a 7-pack if GE Energy Smart bulbs for $9.99. With $3 in stacked coupons, you’re looking at $6.99, or $1 a bulb. (I think I’d go for the FREE though, but if you need a bunch, that’s not bad.) Some readers have seen 2-packs of these bulbs on clearance in the $2-$3 range too.
Other readers have noted that Ace Hardware has single GE Energy Smart light bulbs for .99 through February too. Some Ace Hardware stores do not accept coupons, but if yours does, they could be free there too!
SuperTarget meat deals:
- Sutton & Dodge steakhouse-quality chuck roast – $1.99/lb

Drugstore Deals
Heading to Walgreens, it’s just a crazy week of FREE stuff! Where to begin?
Sure For Men deodorant/antiperspirant is on sale for $1.50 with the store coupon in the Walgreens ad. Stack this with the $1.50 manufacturer coupon from 1/24 SS and it’s FREE! (There’s a $1 coupon for women’s Sure which would make this variety .50.)

$1 Toothbrush coupons: 10/18/09 RP, 10/4/09 RP.
$1 Floss coupons: 1/3 RP, 10/18/09 RP, 10/4/09 RP.
Bic Flex 4 or Bic Hybrid disposable razors are on sale for $6.99, Buy One, Get One Free. Use the B1G1F coupon ($6.99 value) from 1/10 SS to get TWO packs FREE!
Mini Super-Couponing lesson: Why does this work? When you use a B1G1F coupon during a B1G1F sale, you will buy none and get two for free. Here’s why… and remember, it’s important to think of your coupons AS cash. If you walk into the store and give them $6.99 in cash, how many packages of razors will that pay for? Two — because the store is selling you TWO for $6.99. Now, look at your B1G1F coupon. What is its value? $6.99. That coupon essentially states “$6.99 off two packages of razors,” and when the price of two packages of razors is $6.99… the coupon’s $6.99 value pays the entire price. You WILL pay tax on the pre-coupon price, as always… but your razors will be free.
Here’s a cheap deal on Pert shampoo! It’s on sale for $2.50 a bottle, and when you buy 2, you’ll get $2 in Register Rewards. The 1/24 SS has two good coupons to use here – $1 off Pert and $1.50 off Pert for Men. With both, pay $2.50 and get $2 back in RRs! TWO bottles of Pert for .50!
Or, if you get multiple papers, use TWO $1.50 Pert for Men coupons! Pay $2 for 2 bottles and get $2 back! FREE Pert!
We’ve seen some great deals on Stayfree products lately, and here’s another one. Stayfree 16-24ct. maxi pads are on sale for $1.99. Use the B1G1F coupon from 1/3 RP to take home TWO for $1.99, or about $1 each!
If you’ve taken my Super-Couponing 2 class, we talk about the yearly cycles on specific kinds of products and the best times to buy them. Right now is a cycle low for snacks and sodas, because Super Bowl’s approaching… and depending on your desire to stock up, this deal could knock 2-liters of Pepsi products out of your budget for months to come!
Here’s the deal. Walgreens is running a “Buy $20, Get $10” deal on Pepsi products and snacks. Spend $20 and get $10 back in Register Rewards. Best buy here? 2-liters of Pepsi, Mountain Dew or Sierra Mist (diet/Cherry varieties too.) 2-liters are on sale for $1.25 a bottle. Buying 16 bottles will put you at $20 – pay $20, get $10 back, and you’ll knock that price in half. Now, make it better with coupons! Many of the bottles have hangtag coupons for $1 off 4 2-liters. Pick up four bottles with these! With four $1 coupons, you’ll pay $16 and get $10 back — $6 for 16 2-liter bottles of Pepsi products? That’s about .38 a bottle!
CVS is running an identical deal this week too, if you’d prefer to get your pop there.
And, to go with that cheap pop, let’s get some deliciously inexpensive Chex Mix too! It’s on sale for .99 a bag. Use this .50 printable and this .50 printable (print 2 from each link!) to get 4 bags at .49 a bag!
Wags also has a diaper deal going on Huggies products. Spend $25 on Huggies diapers and/or wipes and get $5 back in Register Rewards.
Huggies Jumbo packs of diapers are $8.99 each. Buying 3 packs puts you at $26.97. Use any of the following coupons to reduce the prices of each pack:
$1 off – 1/17 SS, printable
$1.50 off Overnites – 1/17 SS
$2 off Little Snugglers, Little Movers, Overnites – printable
$2 off Pull-Ups – 1/17 SS, printable
.50 off Huggies Wipes – 1/17 SS
.75 off Huggies Wipes – printable
Now, to really rock this deal, you will also need the $1 store coupon in the Walgreens Children’s Activity Book. This is a coloring book that sells for .99 — note that they are NOT the easiest things to find, unfortunately. But if you’ve got it, that coupon will stack with your manufacturer coupons, reducing the prices again by $1 per pack.
Forum member Brizzde wrote some excellent scenarios:
1) 3 jumbo packs of diapers at 8.99/pk = $26.97
minus $3 from the coloring book coupon = $23.97
minus 3 $2 coupons = $17.97
You’ll get a $5 RR back = $12.97 for 3pk of diapers!2) 2 jumbo packs of diapers at 8.99/pk = $17.98
plus 3 tubs of wipes at 2.50/ea = $7.50
before coupons = $25.48
minus $2 from the coloring book coupon = $23.48
minus 2 $2 coupons = $19.48
minus 1 $1 coupon = $18.48
minus 2 .75 coupons = $16.98
You’ll get a $5 RR back = $11.98 for 2pk of diapers and 3 tubs of wipes.
Brizzde also notes that “Dominick’s has a January 2010 coupon book with [manufacturer] coupons for $2 off Huggies diapers and $1 off Huggies wipes.” Enjoy!
Let’s wrap Wags up with a chocolate treat… Hershey milk chocolate bars are on sale for .49 with the coupon in the weekly Walgreens flyer. So grab one… and grab a Hershey’s Special Dark bar too. Use the “Buy Hershey’s, get Special Dark FREE” coupon from 1/10 SS and get BOTH for .49… or about a quarter apiece!
And finally, over at CVS, they’re running a “Buy $20, Get $10” deal on Pepsi products and snacks. Spend $20 and get $10 back in Extra Care Bucks, limit 1 offer per card.
Walgreens is running an identical deal this week too, if you’d prefer to get your pop there.
If you missed the FREE Crest toothpaste at Jewel last week, CVS has it pretty cheap this week too. Several varieties of Crest are on sale for $1.99 with $1 back in Extra Care Bucks. Use the .75 coupon from 1/17 PG, pay $1.24 and get $1 back in ECBs! Toothpaste under a quarter? That’s a deal.
If you haven’t yet picked these up (we’ve seen deals on them at Jewel and Target over the past two weeks) 3-packs of Ivory Soap are on sale for .99. Use the $1 coupon from 12/27 and enjoy your 3 free bars of Ivory soap!
SoyJoy 6-packs snack bars continue to be free after ECB too. They’re on sale for $6 with $6 back in Extra Care Bucks!
The moneymaking deal on Oust air and surface sanitizer continues through 2/14! Oust is on sale for $3.99 a can. For each can you buy, you’ll get $3 back in ECBs, limit 3. Buy 2, use the Buy One, Get One Free Oust coupon from 1/3 SS. Pay $3.99 and get $6 back! Hello there, moneymaker! If you have multiple inserts, buy 4, use 2 coupons, pay $7.98 and get $9 back.
As this has been running for a few weeks now, it seems to be getting a little easier to find on the shelves too…
Lastly, CVS is running a new promo where you’ll get 4% of your CVS house-branded products back in ECBs through March 15. To take advantage of this, register your CVS card online, and the ECBs will automatically accumulate.
Best CVS-branded products this week? Gold Emblem Spices — these .49-8oz. spice shakers are .88 each, already a fabulous price for spices. But, for each one you buy, you’ll also rack up .035 (yeah… that’s three-and-a-half cents) in ECBs for each spice shaker.
So, if you bought 25 Gold Emblem spices, you’d accumulate enough ECBs to get one free. Ha. :) Well… perhaps the bonus ECB deal would work a little better for a higher-priced item. But the spices are cheap :)
CVS Tip: Remember to always scan your CVS card at the price scanner in the store — it prints bonus coupons for you!

As always, these deals are guidelines for shopping. I can make no guarantee that these items will be on sale, in stock, or available at your area store. I can also not guarantee your Catalinas will print, your cashier will smile at you while you check out, or that your shopping cart won’t have a broken wheel. But I CAN teach you how to save money :)
* (All You magazine is not a requirement for using the site, but if you like coupons, you will probably really enjoy it. It’s a cheap ($2.49 an issue) magazine that is absolutely filled with coupons each month — typically $50-$100 worth per issue! You can subscribe to All You online and save about $10/year off the cover price. And depending on the values, if you use 2 or 3 coupons alone from each issue, you’ve recouped the cost of the magazine, and you’re on your way to even bigger savings.)

Love the move to Monday deals. Better yet, checked on Sunday night and they were already posted.
Monday may turn into my new shopping day.
Thank you Jill for all you do.

Thank you Jill for moving up the date of your deals! LOOOOOOOVVVEEEE Monday! Excited that I actually had a find that was posted! Whoooo Hoooo! :-) It is the little things…

Thanks! Tuesday is typically rather hectic here, so having an extra day means I might be able to get back to scoring some of these deals.
It was a lot easier to bargain hunt when I was unemployed and had a more flexible schedule. Plus going to all the networking sessions got me out and around to various stores that I don’t have time to visit any more.
If only the new job were worth the hassles and the low pay. But alas, I absolutely HATE it, and am looking for something else full speed…

I was all excited about getting the Lever soap yesterday…until I saw my Qs were for 4 packs, not the 2 pack that’s on sale. I clipped mine out already so I don’t know which insert they came from-just a warning to read the Q!
My cashier at Dom’s would only input for one pound of bananas on the Buy 2 salads, get free bananas Q–I think these automatically scan, though. She didn’t try to scan it.

your making me go to dominicks!! if it dont work, never ever ever again will step foot in that store, of corse if i do everything correctly witch im sure i will, wish me luck!!

Oh Jill you made my day! Monday is my day in town, now my dh won’t have to do as many deals!
stretchingabuck says
There is a $0.55 off 2 Fresh Express Blends or Gourmet Cafe in the 10/4 SS (expired 11/30). I haven’t checked it out at Dominick’s, but could this coupon be used along with the $0.99/1 and the bananas coupon (of course, purchasing 2 salads)?
brizzde says
I used one of these .55 coupons last week. I didn’t scan because it was expired so the Dominick’s at Lake Cook and AH Rd. almost didn’t accept it. I was about to leave all of my groceries on the belt when they “made an exception” and manually entered my coupon. You should be able to use it. Just be prepared to fight for it. I’m going to try using another one this week but at a different location. Good luck :)

Great new site and thanks for the Monday deals!

Already stopped at Jewel for the deals this week and we’ll be having pierogi’s in honor of your daughter birthday as well. Thanks for posting the deals a day early, very helpful.

Jill,
Thanks a million for the Monday post. I absolutely love it as I’m not nearly as quick as you and others and it takes me time to gather my coupons.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

We love Deal Day Monday. Thank you so much. I know this is probably a switch for you as you’ve said Sunday is family day. Remember that it is appreciated by so many.

Jewel has Wild Harvest tortilla chips Buy One, Get One. I bought one for $2.89, got the other free. Then used two $1 wild harvest coupons. Got both for .89 plus tax.
OR, the Wild Harvest garbanzo beans, rang up as .99 (with preferred card). This item wasn’t tagged on the shelf so I was pleasantly surprised when I checked out. Use two $1 coupons and get both for free.
Bernard2003 says
When the Kellogg cereal deal came around, I actually got a few boxes of original special k that had a free sample of craisins in the box – they also had a coupon on the back of the box for $1 off any one package of craisins… a really good coupon to work into the dom’s craisins deal you mentioned (if you have two, you can take home 4 packages of craisins for only .99!!)
UglyChixImMe says
But I figured I’d let everyone know before wasting their ink that the $1.50 off coupon at target is a manufacturers coupon and not a Target coupon.
onceuponacoupon says
The Wild Harvest pizza’s are really good, we had one for lunch today. Kind of on the smaller side, but more than enough for me and two of my boys. I really wish I had another coupon for the buy 2 get 1 because I would have bought more!
I couldn’t find any WH on clearance at my Jewel, the only thing on sale was the yogurt at .79, so I used my 2 $1 coupons on 2 of those for the overage.

Has anyone found any variety of “Chocolate” Chex Mix at Walgreens?
The coupons that we linked to were for “Chocolate” — or something like that — only.
I did notice tons of Chex Mix gone, but no tag for “Chocolate.”

Thanks, Jill, for spelling out the diaper deal. With baby #2 due anytime now, I’ve been stocking up on diapers (much to my husband’s chagrin…he doesn’t get the stocking up thing at all…just sees all these packs of diapers and despairs…he would really despair if I paid full price all the time). So now I’ve got another 9 packs of Pampers and 6 packs of Huggies. Gotta get them while they’re cheap (and that’s $5 or less for a jumbo pack).
I remember last spring when I came to your classes a lot of blog discussions were about where a good diaper deal could be found…most people remembered the last good deal back in Dec. ’08 or Jan ’09. It was then that I realized that if a good deal should happen to come along to jump on it, because who knows when the next “diaper deal desert” should happen upon us. So I’ve been stockpiling this fall and winter…thanks to you and other great savers out there. Feeling very grateful!

Jill have you gone to our “favorite” Dominick’s this week and used more than one internet Q? I have several $1 expireds I can use for the Cinnamon Crunch and am hesitant since my venture last week Tuesday was a big slap on the hand.

There are BOGO Nature’s Path Hot Instant Oatmeal boxes (& I THINK Natures Path waffles) PLUS an in-store Jan/Feb flyer coupon for $1.50 off of 2. This brings an Organic hot cereal down to .75 per box instead of $2.99.

Target would not take my Target coupons because they had to be the sensitive ones and I bought the cruisers. Unfortunately, they did not have the bigger ones for this one. Anyone else encounter this problem?
In addition, I went to use both coupons for the GE bulbs. Clerk refused to take it because it was overage. I told her your corporate policy advised that they should mark the coupon down. She disagreed and got front manager who also disagreed. Finally, a manager came along and state the same things. Right then and there, I told them to call corporate. 25 minutes later, they confirm that I was correct and adjusted the coupons down by a penny. No apology at all.
I was so angry being later back from lunch that I called back to complain. I do not think it made a difference.
Does anyone else have problems with the Target in Villa Park? I feel like it is becoming another Dominicks where I just will not go in there anymore. I am so disgusted.

This has been the best week all because of your wonderful Monday post! First, I went shopping today instead of my usual Wednesday and everything was in stock! I was thrilled to be able to do all the deals. Second, I keep thinking today is Wednesday so, I feel like you have given me the gift of a day. Thanks, Jenni

Has anyone had any problems with the wild harvest coupons? My Jewel wouldn’t take them tonight. Told me to come back tomorrow when a manager was in. She wasn’t really clear why, something about it missing something and it was in the book. She was really nice, but does anyone know what she’s talking about?

This was my 1st Deal Outing – so I expected to be somewhat disorganized & flustered trying to get so many coupons thru the correct way… Anyways, I told the clerk my plan to do the Extra Bucks Perts 1st (for 4) then apply that to the Deodorant deal. So 1st she rang everything up – which only prints ONE $2 Catalina … then when i asked why there was one – it was a big ordeal getting the manager and voiding & reringing. I learned WAGS Catalinas need to be separate transactions. Also, in the BOGO + coupon Razor deal, I was made to pay tax on a $0 balance. The clerk told me I can’t escape luxury tax, is this true?

Quick question:
I tried to use the $1 coupon for the Reach toothbrush at Wag’s. Clerk said the coupon was $1 and the toothbrush was only 99cents, so that is fraud. I asked her to adjust it down to a 99cent coupon, and she said that is against the law. And, I told her I’d pay the extra penny, but again, she said that is against the law. By now, there was a line behind me and I left, embarrassed. What’s the true story?
I hate feeling like a criminal……….

I just found out about this feature at some stores, and I have a few questions. Are they considered store coupons, such as Target coupons? Can you stack a manufacturer’s coupon with the coupon you have loaded on your card? And, if you can’t, what would happen if you had a coupon loaded to your card and then found a better one in the paper for example and would rather use that one? I can’t seem to find any of these answers on my own, help! Thanks

I forgot to ask about this in my last post. Tonight, a woman in customer service at the Dominicks in Carpentersville told me that I couldn’t use the $2.00 off coupon for the PureVia, which was on sale for $1.99. She said it would be against the law and coupon-fraud (the second time she used that term in a conversation that only lasted a couple of minutes) for her to accept a coupon that was for a value higher than the price of the item.
This is the first time I have ever had a store tell me this, and I often have a coupon that is higher than the sale price of an item. Is it really coupon fraud and against the law??
luva79 says
Can i make copies of that coupon? The taco bell cashier said I could, but there are a lot of reference number on it. I don’t want to get in trouble. Thanks!

I didn’t see this anywhere, so thought I’d post it. There is a Wag’s coupon in the Sun. insert making Sure 2/$3. In the 1/10 coup. insert (I think SmartSource, but not sure….there were only 2, so it can’t be too hard to find) were coupons for $1 off any Sure and $1.50 off of Men’s Sure. If you get multiple inserts, use the 2 Men’s coupons and get free deodorant.
Missie
Edit: Oh, duh! It’s the very first item under the Wag’s segment. I need more coffee!

Went to Walgreens to do the diaper deal this afternoon, and when I walked in I saw “photocopied” type of sheets sitting with the sale flyer display which say “Over $100 in coupon savings!” at the top. One of the coupons is for $1 off Huggies Baby Wipes 64 or 72 pack, limit 2. So, I added it to the deal detailed above in the Walgreens deal section, and the cashier took off $1 for each of the three that I purchased! Made my total $13.48 (without tax)and then, of course got a $5 RR! The sheet is black and white – has many other coupons also which I haven’t absorbed yet as I wanted to get this out to you! Coupons don’t expire till 2/27!

I went to the Dominicks in BG and was attempting to buy the Cheerios at the $1.49 price. After the cashier rang up my 10 boxes of cereal, she said she didn’t think she’d be able to take my coupons. After consulting the CS person, I was told that Dominicks’ store policy was that they could not accept internet coupons if they are for more than half the price of the item. They too, embarrassed me in front of the FEW customers they even had. The two employees (one a CS person) commented as I left without my cereal in rather loud voices, “can you believe after ALL that she wouldn’t even buy the cereal?”. I have never been so embarrassed. Can someone please tell me if that is in fact their policy? I can tell you that based on their rude attitudes I won’t be shopping there. There are too many stores nearby who do appreciate my business to be treated like that.
