Hello, Super-Couponers! I approached this week’s deals with “reader appreciation” in mind… within the last week, readers have asked for specific deals on “steak and shrimp,” “Palermo’s pizzas,” “cereal under a dollar”, toilet paper, kids’ toothpaste and sunscreen! Whew! I did my best this week to deliver on all counts, as well as bringing many more great deals to the table.
A big welcome to everyone from my Huntley, Elgin, and Gurnee classes this past week!
This week’s newspaper contained two inserts: SmartSource and RedPlum. Parade Magazine also has a .75 Sara Lee coupon inside, so grab & file that too if you’d like.
Now… ready for your Deals of the Week? You may enjoy .50 Kellogg’s cereal, CHEAP Tide Stain Release, .25 Pounce cat treats, an iTunes gift card deal with P&G products, FREE Airwick air freshener, shrimp and steak at stock-up prices, .50 Hefty disposable plates, ridiculously cheap olive oil, .24 kids’ Colgate, FREE Nabisco crackers, MONEYMAKER contact lens solution, FREE John Freida haircare products, and cheap Neutrogena sunscreen! Let’s get started!

If you’re new to my blog, take a quick minute to read Using this site and bring yourself up to speed on all the coupon lingo and abbreviations.
It’s a good idea to save the grocery and drugstore flyers each week to have on hand & refer to too as you go through the deals! And, if you’re new to couponing in general, check out my Super-Couponing® website for a list of coupon classes (most are FREE!) and easy instructions on how to start using coupons effectively!
A note to my non-Midwest readers: While my weekly deals focus on Illinois stores, the Target, Walgreens and CVS deals apply nationally. And, if you’re shopping at a SuperValu, Safeway, or Kroger-owned store, you may find similar sales to our Jewel, Dominick’s, and Hilander deals. Welcome, and enjoy!

Grocery Deals
Time for another 50 cereal deal! Kellogg’s cereals, Pop-Tarts, as well as selected Keebler cookies and crackers are all on sale for $1.50 each when you purchase 8 in one transaction. But that’s before coupons…
If you picked up the “Score More Savings” coupon books at Jewel recently (you may still find them there!) you’ll need 4 to rock this deal. Inside the book you’ll find a coupon for $2 off 2 Kellogg’s cereals. With four of these coupons, buy 8 boxes of Kellogg’s cereals included in the deal and pay $4 for EIGHT boxes, or .50 a box!
If you don’t have the “Score More Savings” book, here are some other Kellogg’s coupons to work into the deal:
– $1 off Cinnabon cereal – 6/27 RP – also makes it .50 a box after coupon & deal. Note that some readers are reporting this IS in the deal at their stores — others say it is NOT in the deal. Check your signage and proceed with caution…
– $1.50 off 2 Apple Jacks, Froot Loops, Corn Pops, Cocoa Krispies or Frosted Flakes, All-Bran, Crispix, Frosted Mini-Wheats, Corn Flakes, or Raisin Bran – 2 printables
– $1 off 2 Frosted Flakes – printable
– $1 off 2 Pop-Tarts – 7/11 RP, 2 printables
– $1 off 2 Cinnabon Bars – 6/27 RP
With four $1.50-off-2 printables, you’ll pay $6 for 8 boxes, or .75 a box.
With four $1-off-2 printables, you’ll pay $8 for 8, or $1 a box.
(Note that you must buy 8 boxes for the deal – no more, no less. If you buy less, they will ring at $2.50 a box. If you buy more than 8, each box over the 8 will ring at $2.50 a box as well.)

Now, for those of you with a Nintendo DSi (or a child who has one) here’s a fun double-dip. When you buy 5 or more participating Kellogg’s cereals (over 10 ounce sizes) you’ll also get a Catalina good for 1000 DSi points in the Nintendo DSi store online. (Redeem them at this link – games start at 500 points!)
Cereals participating in the Nintendo DSi double-dip are:
Kellogg’s Apple Jacks
Kellogg’s Cocoa Krispies
Kellogg’s Corn Flakes
Kellogg’s Crispix
Kellogg’s Froot Loops
Kellogg’s Frosted Mini-Wheats Bite Size (Original, Blueberry Muffin, or Strawberry)
Kellogg’s Frosted Mini-Wheats Little Bites (Original or Chocolate)
Kellogg’s Rice Krispies
(I have not cross-referenced this against all of the varieties on sale at Jewel, but if you’ve got a DSi, you may want to. Note too that some BOXES of the cereal also have DSi points inside the box. Whew!)
If you missed the news, Jewel stores are downsizing their product offerings (if you click the link & read, you’ll see most of us are not happy about this development — please feel free to add your two cents to the discussion.)
However, when any store downsizes, they clearance out sizes and types of products they’ll no longer be carrying. One is the larger powdered variety of Tide Stain Release. It’s on clearance for $4.99. Use the $3 coupon from 7/4 PG and pay $1.99!
(Note the sizes on this coupon — the liquid Stain Release is $3.99 on clearance, but this coupon is not for the smaller, clearanced liquid variety. If you want the liquid, there’s a $1 coupon for it in the same insert.)
Here’s a little deal on Pounce cat treats. They’re on sale for $1. Use the $1.50-off-2 coupon from 7/11 RP, buy 2 and pay .50 for 2, or .25 each!
If you didn’t pick it up in previous weeks when it was super cheap, Xtra laundry detergent is on sale again for $1.99 for a 44-load bottle. Use the $1 coupon from 6/6 SS and pay .99! That’s about .02 a load!
To my reader whose mom wanted a deal on Palermo’s frozen pizzas, they’re on sale this week 2 for $10. When you buy 2, you’ll also get a free 1.5qt. carton of Store Ridge ice cream (that is, if you’re not cheap-ice-creamed out after last week’s deals!)
Make this one better with a coupon — print this $1-off-2 coupon and pay $9 for 2 pizzas and one ice cream. Not super-cheap, but if you’re brand-specific to Palermo’s, that’s the best I can do :) Note that Palermo’s pizzas range insize from 14.85oz. to 32.35 oz – if you’re paying $4.50 per pizza, make sure you get that nice big 32-ouncer!
Spend $30, get $15 iTunes Gift Card Sale Jewel is running a “Spend $30, get a $15 iTunes gift card” Catalina sale. (Honestly, I’m not too thrilled with this sale and have been planning to sit it out — I’d much rather have a $15 Catalina! However, if you like iTunes, you might like this sale. Deals continuing from previous weeks:
Air Wick Aqua Mist Air Freshener spray is on sale for $2.50. Use the $2.50 coupon from 6/20 SS and it’s FREE!
(Note that some editions of the Tribune received a $2 or $1 coupon instead — this is similar to the Electrasol/Finish Quantum $5 coupon we saw about a month ago. It’s a random insertion, so if you didn’t get the $2.50, you might want to pass unless you need this.) Sale runs through July 25th.
Selected Malt O Meal cereals are $1.50. Use any of these .75 printables (There are 3 different coupons listed, but the chocolate variety appears to have hit its print limit – you can print twice though for the other two varieties.) With coupon, pay .75. Certainly, we’ve seen cereal MUCH cheaper, but if you need it…
Are you on the Jewel-Osco email list yet? If not, you’re missing out on some GREAT coupons! Jewel has been emailing coupons out for everything from meats to party trays over the past few weeks. I have really been impressed with the nice coupons Jewel has been sending to their email subscribers lately & would highly recommend getting on their list if you shop there.
UPDATE: If you use the promotional code “PRODUCE” when you sign up, you’ll get a $2 coupon off a $2 or more produce purchase! (You can sign up again even if you’ve signed up before. AND, if you use the promotional code “FREEBREAD” … guess what you get? The coupons are good through 7/26 and are unlimited print but limited to one per transaction… have fun!
Jewel’s house brand of diapers, Baby Basics, are a good buy with coupons! Jumbo packs are $7.99-$16.99 each at most stores depending on size of box/package. Use these $4 printables here (print 2!) and cut that price nicely!

Jewel meat deals:
- Fresh chicken drumsticks or thighs are $1.49/lb.
- Fresh whole cut-up fryers are $1.69/lb.
- Fresh jumbo chicken wings are $1.99/lb.
(Anytime meat is under $1.99 a pound (no matter what it is — beef, pork, poultry, or seafood) it’s a buy in my book, because $1.99 is a cycle low and a good benchmark for meat prices.)
Jewel produce deals:
- Green beans are .99/lb.
- Picked ripe peaches or nectarines are .99/lb.
- Broccoli crowns or cauliflower is $1.69/lb.
- Fresh green asparagus is $1.98/lb.

- Picked ripe plums are $1.99/lb
- Fresh strawberries are $3.99 for a 2lb. container
Note to my Safeway shoppers reading from outside Chicagoland: In Chicago, Dominick’s currently accepts expired coupons up to one year past the expiration date, so my coupon matchups for Dominick’s deals will include expired coupons. If an expired coupon matchup is provided, it will be noted with (exp) after the date. Also, in Chicago, Dominick’s does not double coupons (as other Safeway stores do) – if your store doubles, you’ll do even better with many of these deals.
Dominick’s is running a special on seafood this week. All seafood is an additional 20% off sale prices. I like this sale as it’s usually a good time to stock up on shrimp! 2lb. bags of Waterfront Bistro large raw shrimp are on sale for $9.58 (that is with the 20% additional savings.) Use the $2 coupon in the “Simple Summer Seafood” booklet available on in-store displays to take it home for $7.58 — that’s $3.79/lb. (Yes, we’ve seen it cheaper, but this is the lowest I’ve seen it since Lenten season earlier this year… and I am in the mood for grilling some shrimp-and-pineapple shish kebobs! :)
UPDATE! Thursday’s ad has 2lb. bags of Waterfront Bistro medium cooked shrimp for $7.98 on a 3-day (through Sat.) sale. With the same $2 coupon, pay $5.98 for 2lbs — that’s $2.99/lb! STOCK UP!
STEAK STEAK STEAK! For those who’ve been wondering when we’ll have a great deal on steak, here it is! Rancher’s Reserve boneless chuck steaks are $1.99/lb. – lowest price we’ve seen for steak for this entire grilling season. Time to stock up… (and use all that bargain Worcestershire sauce in marinades!) I’ll post this with the meat deals too, but I wanted to make sure everyone saw it…
As usual, there are some Dominick’s Super Coupons* in this week’s ads too. Best bets?
- Hefty foam plates are .99 a package, limit 2, with Super Coupon. Use the $1-off-2 coupon from 5/16 RP and pay .49 each! 11/15/09 RP (exp) also has a .50 coupon for more .49 plates!
- Skippy Peanut Butter is $1.49 with Super Coupon, limit 6. Stack this coupon with the .75-off-2 manufacturer coupons in the 3/29 RP (exp,) 1/31 RP (exp), and 11/15/09 RP (exp,) buy 2 and pay $2.23 for 2, or $1.12 each…
- Knorr Rice or Pasta side dishes are .88 each with Super Coupon. Use the .45 off any Knorr product from the 5/2 SS Espanol (exp.) and pay .43! If you didn’t get the Spanish SmartSource that week, there are .50-off-2 coupons in 6/27 RP, 3/28 RP (exp) and 11/15/09 RP (exp) that will drop the price to .63 each when you buy 2 with coupon.
- Quaker Chewy granola bars are $1.49 a box with Super Coupon. Use the $1-off-2 coupon from 1/3 RP1 (exp) and pay $1 a box when you buy 2. There are also .75-off-2 coupons in 5/2 RP (exp) and 2/14 RP (exp) for more cheap bars.
- Welch’s Juice Cocktail (64oz) i s $1.99 each, limit 4, with Super Coupon. Use the .75 coupon from 6/6 SS, 3/14 SS (exp) or a printable (print 2!) and pay $1.24 each! There are more coupons out for these too — the 3/21 SS (exp) and 9/27/09 SS (exp) have $1-off-2 coupons. IF the sparkling cocktail variety is included, the 11/15 SS (exp) has a $1 coupon that would bring this to .99.
- Hot or Lean Pockets are $1.50 each, limit 4, with Super Coupon. Use the $1-off-3 coupon from 10/25 SS(exp,) buy 3, and pay $3.50 for 3 boxes, or $1.17 each.
Deals continuing from previous weeks:
Paper and cleaning deals: Dominick’s is running a “Spend $15, get $5” Catalina deal on Brawny, Glad, Dixie, Clorox, Windex, and Hidden Valley Ranch through 7/13 (that’s a TUESDAY end date.) With all of the deals on these lately, I didn’t blog this one extensively, but you can use the Coupon Lookup (www.coupontom.com) to do your own matchups if you’d like.
Dom’s also has another deal running called “Clean Up and Save Big” – 3 “big” cleaning items are $4.99 each when purchased in quantities of 3, mix or match. If you buy 3 Brawny, you’d be at $14.97. Find the cheapest
filler” you can to get over $15 — the Glad bags are probably a good bet, or some Dixie plates/cups, or Clorox (remember to bring coupons for these too! Then add Brawny coupons… 6/27 RP and 3/14 RP (exp) have .50 off Brawny, and 1/24 RP (exp) has $1 off. With all 3 coupons, pay $12.97 and get $5 back – $7.97 for 3 Brawny 8-packs is $2.66 each!
With three $1 coupons, pay $11.97 for the Brawny and get $5 back.
OR, work Charmin into the deal. With the $3 ecoupon from www.pgesaver.com, stack that in and use a $1 Charmin coupon from the P&G Year of Savings book (last year’s 2009 book also has $1 Charmin coupons.) You’ll pay .99 for the BIG multiroll Charmin pack, and that’s a steal! Even with a .25 Charmin coupon, you’re looking at $1.74 for the big pack? Also a great deal!
Coupon booklets currently found at Dominick’s

O Organics – brochure card with “$1 off any O Organics Item” coupons in the store, expiring 12/31/10! These are GREAT coupons for products like organic milk and produce. Watch them though, as when they scan, they usually only take off $0.01 instead of $1.00… have your cashier adjust the coupon if it does not scan correctly.
July Coupon Booklet – small yellow square book released monthly.
Add Dairy to your Summer Adventure – $26 worth of manufacturer AND store coupons for many dairy products, expiring 7/14-7/24/10
Dominick’s meat deals:
- Fresh whole Safeway chickens are .69/lb – very good price
- Fresh Perdue whole cut-up chickens, drumsticks, or thighs are $1.49/lb (but honestly, save over half the price and just buy the whole bird with the deal above. Celebrity chef Christopher Walken will show you how to cook it.)
- Rancher’s Reserve boneless chuck steak is $1.99/lb. – EXCELLENT price for steak!
- Fresh 80% lean ground beef is $1.69/lb. (93% lean is $1.99/lb.)
Dominick’s produce deals:
- Pints of fresh Michigan blueberries are $1.50
- Sweet yellow Georgia peaches are .99/lb.
- Vine ripe tomatoes are .99/lb.
- Illinois-grown zucchini or yellow neck squash are .99/lb/
- Jumbo cantaloupes are $1.50 each
*A note on Dominick’s Super Coupons:
What does “minimum $10 (or $20) purchase required” mean? To use store coupons that include a minimum purchase requirement, you must spend a minimum dollar amount on that shopping trip. You will reach the minimum purchase amount based upon total purchases after your Club Card discount is applied. For example, the regular retail price of a box of Cheerios (after Club Card discounts) will count toward the minimum purchase required in order to use the Cheerios coupon.
Heading over to Meijer, here are your best deals of the week for Meijer stores in in Algonquin, Aurora, Bloomingdale, Bolingbrook, Elgin, McHenry, Oswego, Plainfield, Rolling Meadows, and St. Charles:
Here’s a deal on Kool-aid and sugar that may have you buying Kool-aid even if you don’t drink it – because the sugar ends up cheaper WITH the Kool-Aid (Those of you that have taken my Super-Couponing live or DVD class will recall a similar example involving Kool-Aid used as a “filler” item.)
The deal is this. Packets of Kool-Aid are on sale for .10 each. Buy ten and use the “$2 off Domino’s sugar when you buy 10 Kool-Aid packets” coupon from 6/20 SS. Domino sugar is $3.64 (4lbs.) – $3.85 (5lbs.) If you buy 10 Kool-aids ($1) and the sugar, it will cost you $2.64-$2.85 for both the sugar and the Kool-Aid! (And if you’re not a Kool-Aid drinker, remember they make lemonade mix too — which is nice on these hot summer days!)
Now, here’s where the deal could be EVEN better. Starting 7/18, If you buy 20 packets of Kool-Aid, you will get a Catalina for a FREE 4lb. bag of Meijer brand sugar! (The identical deal ran last year too.) Now, here’s my dilemma when putting these deals together… wait a few days for the FREE sugar and do these deals together? I wasn’t able to find an end date for the .10 Kool-Aid price at my Meijer as they didn’t have the tags up, but if it’s going to stay at ten cents a pack through next week, you might want to WAIT to do the deal until the extra sugar Catalina starts. You could buy 20 Kool-Aids and 1 Dominos, pay $4.85 and have 20 Koolaids and 2 sugars.
OR…
Use no coupons at all. Buy 20 packets of Kool-Aid ($2) and get a Catalina for FREE Sugar. End of deal! :)
The Catalina alert for this deal states that it runs from 7/18/10 through 8/14/10, so for those of you who just skim the deals, note that the bonus Catalina for free sugar has NOT yet started. If anyone sees tags as to how long Kool-Aid’s staying at .10 a packet, please let us know, and we can mull over when would be the best time/days to do this one.
Reader Sebrugger spotted a fantastic deal on Pompeian Olive Oil! (Truly, in all my years of couponing, I’ve NEVER seen olive oil this cheap.) Pompeian is on sale for $3.81 for a 16oz. bottle. Use the $2 store coupon from Meijer Mealbox and stack it with this $1 manufacturer coupon. You’ll pay .81 a bottle! Incredible!
32-ounce bags of Meijer chicken breast nuggets are $2.99 — that’s $1.50 a pound, and we haven’t seen chicken nuggets this low since March/April, when the Tyson ones were cheap at Jewel. Stock-up time!
Meijer is running a Buy 10 for $10, get the 11th FREE sale on many products (see ad for listing.) Unfortunately, most of the items featured are Meijer brand, so not a lot of opportunities for good coupon deals here. Your best bets are going to be on things that are low sale prices, even for a store brand, which are…
16oz. bags of Meijer frozen vegetables are $1
6ct. packages of Meijer English Muffins are $1
50ct. Meijer reclosable sandwich bags are $1
“No Coupon Needed” Deals
64oz. cartons of Meijer orange, orange blend, or orange-pineapple juices are $1.89 each – a very good price.
Meijer Grade A large eggs are .88 a dozen…
Meijer meat deals:
- Grade A chicken drumsticks or thighs are .89/lb.
Meijer produce deals:
- Zucchini or yellow squash is .88/lb.
- Red or green seedless grapes are .97/lb.
- Apricots are .99/lb.
- Midnight Moon, Starless Ruby or Sunrise Red plums are .99/lb.
- Washington sweet cherries are $1.99/lb.
- Pints of blueberries are $1.50 each
Note that Meijers in other states are on different schedules. The Illinois Meijers are about a week behind on the sales vs. Indiana/Michigan. If you’re in Illinois, these Meijer deals run through Wednesday. If you’re reading from another state, they ENDED Saturday at your store… Confusing? Yes.
AND, if you shop at the Illinois NILES Meijer location, they haven’t been following the same sale flyer as the other Illinois Meijers, under the convoluted reasoning that because the store is newer, people will shop there -without- as many products being on sale. O-kay.
For my Rockford-area shoppers (and Kroger shoppers too!) here are your Hilander sales for the current week…

Remember too that Hilander doubles coupons up to .55 face value every day! You are only allowed to double two of the SAME coupon per day though — additional coupons will ring at face value. (Split your trips if you’re stocking up!)
Readers outside Illinois will want to check with their local Kroger or Kroger-affiliated stores to determine how they handle coupon doubling.
Here are a couple little Colgate deals…
First, a deal on kids’ Colgate toothpastes. They’re on sale for $1.99. Use this $1 Target coupon for any Colgate toothpaste or toothbrush and stack it with the .75 manufacturer coupon from 6/27 SS. You’ll pay .24! (Not free, but the best I can do this week!)
The second is on Colgate Wisp disposable toothbrushes. They’re on temporary price cut for $1.50. Use this .50 Target coupon and stack it with the .50 manufacturer coupon from July All You. You’ll pay .50!
If you didn’t get Tide Stain Release at Jewel, it’s even cheaper at Target this week! 10-count Duo-Pacs of Tide Stain Release are on temporary price cut to $2.99. Use the $1.50 Target store coupon from 6/6 RP and stack it with the $1 manufacturer coupon from 7/4 PG or 6/6 PG. You’ll pay .49!
Air Wick Aqua Mist Air Freshener spray is on sale for $1.99. (Yes, we have a similar deal at Jewel right now, but for those of you that got the $2 coupon in your 6/20 SS instead of the $2.50, you now have a place to get this FREE! Use either the $2 or $2.50 coupon from 6/20 SS and it’s FREE!
Deals continuing from previous weeks:
The Big Swiffer Deal
(This deal’s legendary! If you hold your coupons and play them right, it’s always cheaper to buy a Swiffer and a refill than buying the Swiffer or the refill alone. I’ve done this deal numerous times over the past few years in one form or another…)
You’ll need the Target store coupon for $3 off the Swiffer Starter Kit from the 6/27 Target insert (some editions of the Tribune did not receive this insert) and the “Buy a Swiffer Sweeper starter kit, get a FREE refill coupon from the Home Made Simple: Decor Done Right coupon book.
Buy a Swiffer Sweeper starter kit ($8.99 at most stores.) Your $3 coupon knocks this down to $5.99. Now, get the LARGEST Swiffer refill you can find, as the coupon does not specify a size or quantity for your refill. (I like the 36-count Swiffer wet floor wipes, which usually sells for $14! It comes in a large cardboard “case” as opposed to the plastic tubs, and I’ve only seen this size at Target.) Pay $5.99 for the Swiffer AND the wipes — that’s cheaper than buying the wipes alone.
Ray-O-Vac batteries are $1 in Target’s Dollar Spot. $1 printable. ‘Nuff said.
Some editions of the 5/16 RP contained a Target store coupon for $1 off any Bounty paper towels. Single rolls of Bounty Basic sell for .99 at most Targets! Get a roll free (through 7/31!)
Target has launched mobile Target coupons which you can load to your phone. They are Target store coupons that you can stack manufacturer coupons with. Load coupons here. You can also print these offers by going to www.target.com/save and entering your phone number.
Remember too that you get .05 off your total at Target for each reusable bag you bring and use!
Drugstore Deals
Salonpas hot pain relief patches (for backaches, arthritis, strains or muscle sprains) are .99 with the Walgreens store coupon in this week’s ad. Use this $1 printable (print 2!) and get 2 FREE.
Nabisco Crackers (3oz. bags) are on sale for .50 each. Buy two, use the $1-off-2 coupon in 5/16 SS and pay NOTHING for two! FREE crackers taste the best. :)
Goldfish Crackers are .99 a bag. Print this .50 coupon and take them home for .49…
Nevella sugar substitute is on sale for $2.99. Use the $2 coupon from 7/11 RP and pay .99!
Right Guard Total Defense deodorant is on sale for $3.99, Buy One, Get One Free. Buy 2, use this $3 printable and pay .99 for 2, or about .50 each!
(And… print 2 of those coupons and buy 4 if you want to stock up!)
Deals continuing from previous weeks:
Gillette Fusion ProGlide razors are on sale yet AGAIN in a Register Rewards deal… on sale for $9.89, you’ll get $5 back in RRs when you buy one. Use the $4 coupon from 6/6 PG, pay $5.89 and get $5 back! Enjoy that .89 “expensive” razor!
Complete multipurpose solution is $7.99. Buy it and get 7.99 back in Extra Care Bucks – making this FREE! Use the $2 coupon from 5/16 RP and make it a moneymaker!
John Freida Haircare products are on sale for $5 each. Buy 2 and get $5 back in ECBs! Use coupons to make this better… Print two $2.50 coupons, pay $5 for 2 and get $5 back! FREE!
6/6 SS also has a $2 coupon. This deal is limit 1 per card.
FREE School Supplies Deal! Paper-Mate 10ct. pens and Caliber 5″ scissors are both on sale for .99 each. Get .99 back in ECBs when you buy each, making these FREE too! THROUGH TUESDAY ONLY!
The Neutrogena Sunscreen deal is back! Neutrogena sunscreen is $9.99 a bottle. Buy 2 and get $10 back in ECBs! Let’s make this deal better with coupons… print two $2 coupons for Neutrogena sunscreen. Pay $15.98 for 2 and get $10 back! That knocks it down to $2.99 a bottle…
6/13 SS has a $1 coupon too, but the deal’s better with the $2 coupons.
Dean’s Milk continues to be on an ECB deal. Buy a gallon at $2.69 and get $1 back in ECBs, resulting in $1.69 for your gallon of milk. This deal is limit 2.

As always, these deals are guidelines for shopping. I can make no guarantee that these items will be on sale, in stock, or available at your area store. I can also not guarantee your Catalinas will print, your cashier will smile at you while you check out, or that your shopping cart won’t have a broken wheel. But I CAN teach you how to save money :)
And, also, as always, a huge thanks to the many readers who posted and emailed deals that made it into today’s Deals of the Week! We’re all in this together, and I sincerely appreciate everyone who spots and passes along good deals that we can all enjoy :) Thank you… to YOU!
* (All You magazine is not a requirement for using the site, but if you like coupons, you will probably really enjoy it. It’s a cheap ($2.49 an issue) magazine that is absolutely filled with coupons each month — typically $50-$100 worth per issue! You can subscribe to All You online and save about $10/year off the cover price. And depending on the values, if you use 2 or 3 coupons alone from each issue, you’ve recouped the cost of the magazine, and you’re on your way to even bigger savings.)

Went to Wags last night just to get a few things including some sort of hot patch as I pulled a muscle in my shoulder. I went through the ad first, looking to see if anything was on sale. I TOTALLY missed the Salonspas coupon and paid $5.99 for an 8 pack of ICY HOT. Oh well….

Last night I admit I cleared the shelf…got the last 4 packages (and already used 3)of chicken wings. MARKED .79/lb! Thighs and legs were only .69! And it was Perdue! They were the small packages, about 1 pound each, and there were tons of thighs and legs there. Now if only I still had room after all that ice-cream!

My Target sells the Swiffer Starter Kit for $11, so I decided to wait and see if a better price came. Well, my patience paid off since Walmart has the Swiffer Starter Kit on sale this week for $7.97. Since this price was printed in their ad and Target price matches, I was able to score a SUPER deal using 6/27 Target insert (some editions of the Tribune did not receive this insert) and the “Buy a Swiffer Sweeper starter kit, get a FREE refill coupon from the Home Made Simple: Decor Done Right coupon book. I paid $4.97 for the starter kit and a 36 count wet swiffer refill kit. SWEET!

If anyone is interested, there are also $2 off Neutrogena suncare coupons in the current $13 coupon book from dominick’s.
Also, there are some good deals to be had in the clothing area of target using their online coupons! Their C9 athletic clothing line has a good $5/1 coupon and you can even use this on CLEARANCE items, making many of them free! I also used their women’s merona tops $2 coupon to get some nice lightweight tops for work/summer/camping at about $4 each. not free, but a pretty good deal for what you get (I think) I know a few ladies snagged free purses using the merona handbag $3 coupon.. HTH! :o)

I just bought some last night. The cashier told me that if I buy 5 this month (I think by July 24 or 25), I will get a free milk. Since I had already bought 2 a week or so ago… yes, got $2 ECB’s with each purchase… all I need is one more. The limit for the $2 ECB’s is weekly, but the promo is monthly, so you can get $2 ECB each week with this. Really good for Dean’s milk, which we prefer. Hope this makes sense. :)

The 10 oz Kellogg’s Cinnabon cereal is included in the buy 8 get each for $1.50 deal this week at Jewel. The box I got today also has a try for free deal on the box. Until June 2011 you can send in the form and your receipt and get a rebate for the cereal. I also had a $1.00 off coupon for this cereal.

At the Spring Grove Jewel today I found a tearpad of coupons by the Kool Aid packets for two free packets when you purchase ten. They expire at the end of the year. Goes well with the deal Jill lists for the KoolAid and sugar.

I just went to my Jewel (Larkin, Elgin) to do the $30/$15iTunes deal with all Charmin, and there were no packs with a non-preferred price that matched the ad. The ad states that the non-preferred price is 10.99, and the card price is 5.99. The only packs they had were 14.99/12.99 and 8.99/5.99. I brought one of the cheaper packs to the front and asked why the price didn’t match the ad, and the lady who worked there said I had picked the wrong pack (which wasn’t true). Then she tried the “well, the deal works off the preferred price” shpeal, so I just smiled and said thank you.
I ended up buy 3 Charmins at 8.99, and 2 Pringles at 1.79 each. So not as great, but what could I do? We needed TP. :)

I must be doing something wrong! Looked for the Colgate Max Fresh – it was $2.99 but no sign indicating the RR. Checked the flyer nothing in there either. I’m still pretty new at this so it was confusing. But boy, am I saving a lot!!! Thanks Jill :)

The ziploc bags, storage, freezer, sandwich and snack are also part of the 10 for $10 get the 11th free. There are signs under all the products. The supply was low today, but they are giving out rainchecks. There are some MF coupons out there.

With Jewel decreasing product selection, looks like they forgot to remove some boxes of Kellogg’s cereals that were involved in the recent recall. After my 4 year old became ill in the middle of the night last night, I was checking my boxes at 3am. Come to find out, and confirmed with Kelloggs this morning, 2 of my boxes were part of the recall. Kelloggs was very responsive and provided me with a generous-enough refund. Although, I was quite annoyed with the store director over at Jewel. I called, and very nicely let them know that they still had recalled boxes on their shelves. First, the director told me that it was not possible that they had pulled all of the boxes several weeks ago. When I let him know it “obviously” was possible given the match up of dates, UPC, size, and code of the boxes, he simply said thanks for letting him know. No apology for my daughter becoming ill, either way hopefully the boxes have been removed now. Tempted to go make sure…

Did anyone find the Tide Stain Release 10 count duo-pac at Target for $2.99? The Target in Oswego had them for $3.99. Was it a one day “temporary” price cut? I scanned the item at the scanner and it came up $3.99. Is the temporary taken at the register? I didn’t have time to find out. Does anyone know? Thanks!

After spending way too long looking at cereal yesterday, I ended up buying 5 boxes of Rice Krispies specially marked with DSi, a box of Corn Pops and 2 boxes of Pop Tarts. But now, that I’m rereading Jill’s post, I wonder if they didn’t have to be specially marked to be in the DSi deal. Anyway, I did get the cat with the 1000 DSi points (son already spent them) and the $1.50/box price (of course, I used coupons too!)
