Hello, Super-Couponers! In my Super-Couponing workshops, I always mention what a great magazine All You is for coupon shoppers — each issue costs under $2 and has between $50 and $100 worth of coupons inside. I do joke that I never read the thing though, as I’m just incredibly busy.
But this week, I flipped through it and saw a recipe for marinated mango/pineapple/shrimp kabobs, and I giggled when they estimated it would cost $3 per serving to make. I used my $2.99/lb. shrimp, a .99 pineapple and 2 free mangoes (thanks, Jewel $2 free produce coupon) and fed the entire family of FIVE for $3.98! :) Yum!
A big welcome to everyone from my Barrington and Moline classes this past week!
This week’s newspaper contained one insert: SmartSource. Parade Magazine also has a coupon for a FREE smoothie or frappe at McDonald’s, so grab that too.
Now… ready for your Deals of the Week? You may enjoy FREE produce, cheap Chips Ahoy and a free movie, FREE Reach dental floss, FREE Air Wick air freshener, $1.69/lb. steak, a fabulous snacks and granola bars instant-savings deal that will have you taking things home for around .14 a package, cheap Barilla pasta, FREE Crystal Light, FREE Totino’s pizza rolls, FREE Colgate toothpaste, cheap (.09-.49) school supplies, FREE Bic highlighters, FREE Pretzel M&Ms, FREE Celsius green tea, cheap Pantene stylers… Let’s get started!

(Note that some editions of the Tribune received a $2 or $1 coupon instead — this is similar to the Electrasol/Finish Quantum $5 coupon we saw about a month ago. It’s a random insertion, so if you didn’t get the $2.50, you might want to pass unless you need this.) Sale runs through July 25th.
Are you on the Jewel-Osco email list yet? If not, you’re missing out on some GREAT coupons! Jewel has been emailing coupons out for everything from meats to party trays over the past few weeks. I have really been impressed with the nice coupons Jewel has been sending to their email subscribers lately & would highly recommend getting on their list if you shop there.
UPDATE: If you use the promotional code “PRODUCE” when you sign up, you’ll get a $2 coupon off a $2 or more produce purchase! (You can sign up again even if you’ve signed up before.) Note that the “FREEBREAD” promotional code no longer works, though stores are still accepting the coupon.

Coupon booklets currently found at Jewel
Kellogg’s coupon books – I haven’t spotted any yet in my stores, but many have written to say they’ve seen them.
Score More Savings – (soccer ball on cover) – has $28 worth of manufacturer and store coupons inside, including a FREE cookie at the deli counter, $2-off-2 Kellogg’s, B1G1F 5lb. bags of Riceland rice, and many other goodies. Full list here. Expiring 7/31/10, with the exception of the Riceland coupon, which expires 12/31/2011..!

If you missed the news, Jewel stores are downsizing their product offerings (if you click the link & read, you’ll see most of us are not happy about this development — please feel free to add your two cents to the discussion.)
Jewel meat deals:
- Fresh whole chicken fryers are .99/lb.
- Honeysuckle white frozen bone-in turkey breast is $1.99/lb.
Jewel seafood deals:
- Arctic Shores Cod, Orange Roughy or Whiting frozen fish fillets are $6.99 for a 12-32oz. bag. Go for the largest bag here, as it works out to $3.50/lb.
Jewel produce deals:
- Sweet Vidalia onions are $1/lb. – get 2lbs free with $2 produce coupon!
- Illinois peaches are $1.29/lb.
- 1lb. bags of Farm Stand baby carrots are $1.49 each
- Dole pineapples are $2.99 each – just .99 with $2 produce coupon!
(Anytime meat is under $1.99 a pound (no matter what it is — beef, pork, poultry) it’s a buy in my book, because $1.99 is a cycle low and a good benchmark for meat prices — ditto for produce. Seafood, by its nature, is more expensive per pound, but a good “buy” benchmark is $4 per pound or less for fish or shrimp.)
Note to my Safeway shoppers reading from outside Chicagoland: In Chicago, Dominick’s currently accepts expired coupons up to one year past the expiration date, so my coupon matchups for Dominick’s deals will include expired coupons. If an expired coupon matchup is provided, it will be noted with (exp) after the date. Also, in Chicago, Dominick’s does not double coupons (as other Safeway stores do) – if your store doubles, you’ll do even better with many of these deals.
First off, did you notice how the front page of the Sunday Dominick’s ad is advertising a “Summer 3 Day Sale!” that runs from July 18th through July 21st? That’s FOUR days. 18, 19, 20, 21… perhaps Dominick’s has been doing some of the same “new math” that Walgreens has lately…
More STEAK STEAK STEAK! Here’s another great steak deal… Dominick’s has Rancher’s Reserve boneless round steak for $1.69/lb! What else is there to say? That’s a fantastic price! Stock up! :)
“Buy 4, Save $4 PLUS Free Granola Bars” instant-savings deal Buy any 4 participating cereals, granola bars, or fruit snacks and receive $4 instant savings PLUS a free box of Nature Valley Granola Bars! Here are your products and matchups:

There’s already potential for some great deals here with all of the ecoupons! But here’s where things start to get really interesting. When I was scoping out this deal at the store, I saw that some of the fruit snacks were tagged as $1.19 when you buy 4, and Trix cereal was tagged as $1.79 when you buy 4. So, knowing this, you could potentially do even better with these varieties.
Ready for some scenarios?

*A note on Dominick’s Super Coupons:
What does “minimum $10 (or $20) purchase required” mean? To use store coupons that include a minimum purchase requirement, you must spend a minimum dollar amount on that shopping trip. You will reach the minimum purchase amount based upon total purchases after your Club Card discount is applied. For example, the regular retail price of a box of Cheerios (after Club Card discounts) will count toward the minimum purchase required in order to use the Cheerios coupon.
Heading over to Meijer, here are your best deals of the week for Meijer stores in in Algonquin, Aurora, Bloomingdale, Bolingbrook, Elgin, McHenry, Oswego, Plainfield, Rolling Meadows, and St. Charles:
Reader iluvtosave spotted a great deal on Crystal Light Pure Fitness natural drink mixes! They’re on sale for $2 this week at Meijer. If you’re a Vocalpoint member, you may have received a mailer recently with three $2 coupons for this product. That’s three, free, for you! :)
Meijer has a Catalina deal running on Yoplait Greek yogurt, Betty Crocker Fruit Snacks, Betty Crocker baking mixes and Betty Crocker frosting – Buy $15, get a $5 Cat. I’m not seeing anything earth-shattering here unless you NEED any of these things right now. Use the Coupon Lookup to do your matchups if you do :)
—–
They’ve also got an instant savings deal running on Kraft salad dressings and Miracle Whip. Buy 3, get $1 instant-savings, buy 4, get $2 instant savings. Your best bet here is Kraft salad dressing. On sale 3-for-$5, if you have enough coupons, you can do well here. 6/20 SS has a $1 coupon for the salad dressing. If you’re a multiple-inserts person and have 3 of these coupons, buy 3 ($5) – get $1 instant savings ($4) and use your 3 coupons ($1) — and you’re looking at $1 for 3 dressings, or .33 each.
With 4 coupons, buy 4 ($6.67) – get $2 instant savings ($4.67) and use your 4 coupons (.67) – pay .67 for four, or .17 each.
We’ve seen this deal many times at Meijer, but if you haven’t used the coupons yet, Aunt Millie’s bread, hamburger or hot dog buns are .99 each. Use the .55 coupons from 6/13 RP or 5/16 RP and pay .44 each…

- Red or green leaf lettuce or Romaine lettuce is .99/lb.
- California strawberries are $1.50 for a 1lb. container
- Michigan blueberries are $3.99 for a 2lb. container
Note that Meijers in other states are on different schedules. The Illinois Meijers are about a week behind on the sales vs. Indiana/Michigan. If you’re in Illinois, these Meijer deals run through Wednesday. If you’re reading from another state, they ENDED Saturday at your store… Confusing? Yes.
AND, if you shop at the Illinois NILES Meijer location, they haven’t been following the same sale flyer as the other Illinois Meijers, under the convoluted reasoning that because the store is newer, people will shop there -without- as many products being on sale. O-kay.
For my Rockford-area shoppers (and Kroger shoppers too!) here are your Hilander sales for the current week…

Readers outside Illinois will want to check with their local Kroger or Kroger-affiliated stores to determine how they handle coupon doubling.
Honestly, this week’s Target ad is a yawner. The only thing that even caught my eye was the Logitech wireless laptop mouse for $14 – a great price if you need one. (I couldn’t maintain this blog without mine — I’m using it right now!)
UPDATE! Apparently when it’s a slow week, my readers step in to find their own deals! Reader heybets30 spotted a SUPER deal on Clairol Natural Instincts haircolor! It’s on sale for $5.99 a box. Use the $5-off-2 manufacturer coupon from 7/11 RP and stack it with the $5-off-2-haircolor TARGET store coupon from their 6/27 Target coupon insert. Buy 2 and you’ll pay $1.98, or .99 a BOX! :)
Reader Ktrieu spotted Lea and Perrins Worcestershire sauce on sale for $2.25 at her store — with the $2 coupon from 6/27 SS, pay .25!
My beautiful sister Lynn also spotted some deals, so here’s “Lynn’s Corner!” She writes….
Oil of Olay total effects bodywash and 10 bars of Ivory soap for $1.38… OR LESS!
In 6/6 PG there are two coupons, one for $4.00 off Oil of Olay total effects bodywash and one for B1G1 for a free Ivory product with bodywash purchase. Use these together at Target and really “clean up!” The bodywash you want to buy is the 8.4 oz size which retails for $4.79. The coupon, makes this only $0.79! Unfortunately my target did not have a great selection of Ivory products (handsoap, bodywash, or bar soap). All I could find was bar soap for $3.59. The B1G1 coupon reads up to $3.00. Depending on your cashier, they may key the coupon down to $3.00. My cashier took $3.59 off the order, so I left target with one bodywash and 10 bars of soap for $0.79. Not bad!
Crest Pro Health Whitening toothpaste (with special Scope travel size on top) BIG size tube was scanning at $2.14 at my Target but shelf priced $4.99 or something. Use the .75 coupon from 7/4 PG and stack it with the .75 Target store coupon from the 6/27 Target insert. Now you’re down to .64 for the BIG tube!
Deals continuing from previous weeks:
The Big Swiffer Deal
(This deal’s legendary! If you hold your coupons and play them right, it’s always cheaper to buy a Swiffer and a refill than buying the Swiffer or the refill alone. I’ve done this deal numerous times over the past few years in one form or another…)
You’ll need the Target store coupon for $3 off the Swiffer Starter Kit from the 6/27 Target insert (some editions of the Tribune did not receive this insert) and the “Buy a Swiffer Sweeper starter kit, get a FREE refill coupon from the Home Made Simple: Decor Done Right coupon book.
Buy a Swiffer Sweeper starter kit ($8.99 at most stores.) Your $3 coupon knocks this down to $5.99. Now, get the LARGEST Swiffer refill you can find, as the coupon does not specify a size or quantity for your refill. (I like the 36-count Swiffer wet floor wipes, which usually sells for $14! It comes in a large cardboard “case” as opposed to the plastic tubs, and I’ve only seen this size at Target.) Pay $5.99 for the Swiffer AND the wipes — that’s cheaper than buying the wipes alone.
Some editions of the 5/16 RP contained a Target store coupon for $1 off any Bounty paper towels. Single rolls of Bounty Basic sell for .99 at most Targets! Get a roll free (through 7/31!)
Target has launched mobile Target coupons which you can load to your phone. They are Target store coupons that you can stack manufacturer coupons with. Load coupons here. You can also print these offers by going to www.target.com/save and entering your phone number.
Remember too that you get .05 off your total at Target for each reusable bag you bring and use!

As always, these deals are guidelines for shopping. I can make no guarantee that these items will be on sale, in stock, or available at your area store. I can also not guarantee your Catalinas will print, your cashier will smile at you while you check out, or that your shopping cart won’t have a broken wheel. But I CAN teach you how to save money :)
And, also, as always, a huge thanks to the many readers who posted and emailed deals that made it into today’s Deals of the Week! We’re all in this together, and I sincerely appreciate everyone who spots and passes along good deals that we can all enjoy :) Thank you… to YOU!
* (All You magazine is not a requirement for using the site, but if you like coupons, you will probably really enjoy it. It’s a cheap ($2.49 an issue) magazine that is absolutely filled with coupons each month — typically $50-$100 worth per issue! You can subscribe to All You online and save about $10/year off the cover price. And depending on the values, if you use 2 or 3 coupons alone from each issue, you’ve recouped the cost of the magazine, and you’re on your way to even bigger savings.)

Make this deal even better by combining the two printable coupons with the $2 Jewel produce coupon. That’s right, the pistachios are technically produce. I even asked at customer service to make sure before I tried this earlier. Two bags for only $1!

I was just looking for this in the ad and our ad states buy 2 get one free so it would be like .86 a bottle. Not sure if this is by location or what.

I went and purchased the round steak yesterday – GREAT DEAL! But, what is hard to tell is there is a small label on the ad “Extreme Value – Buy Big & Save”. So you have to purchase the big package of this round steak. they actually didn’t have any out at the Glen Ellyn store yesterday and I had to ask for some more. Just know, you are looking for the large pkg. of round steak. Still a good deal!

Does anyone know if Kool-aid price changed in Meijer? I live far from the store and Jill didn’t post updates on a sugar deal. I assume, that price changed but just wanted to make sure.
Now, here’s where the deal could be EVEN better. Starting 7/18, If you buy 20 packets of Kool-Aid, you will get a Catalina for a FREE 4lb. bag of Meijer brand sugar! (The identical deal ran last year too.) Now, here’s my dilemma when putting these deals together… wait a few days for the FREE sugar and do these deals together? I wasn’t able to find an end date for the .10 Kool-Aid price at my Meijer as they didn’t have the tags up, but if it’s going to stay at ten cents a pack through next week, you might want to WAIT to do the deal until the extra sugar Catalina starts. You could buy 20 Kool-Aids and 1 Dominos, pay $4.85 and have 20 Koolaids and 2 sugars.

If you received a box of Trix with your Tribune a month or so ago, there was a $1 off 1 coupon which will work great at Dominick’s this week.

My CVS has had a sign up about this deal for months now…I don’t remember if it’s “get your 5th gallon free” or “buy 5, get your 6th free”. I think the deal ends at the end of July, though.
DiamondCass says
a week or so ago Jewel had tearpads on an endcap dressing display for “FREE produce when you buy 2 kraft dressings (up to $1)”
These would work well with the instant savings deal at Meijer. Not sure if jewel still has them though.

There is also a $0.50 eCoupon on Upromise for the Kruncher’s

I just signed up for the Jewel email….do they send me the produce coupon, or do I request it somehow?

Went to Dominicks this morning, and they would not accept the super coupon for the whole wheat variety. The cashier said it was not included in the sale. Has anyone else had this problem?
RachaelAD says
Is there a limit to how many ecoupons you can use per transaction? Only 5 of my 7 that I had saved to my card showed up at the register. Unfortunately, it was my 2-$1.00 off Nut Clusters that didn’t show. :(
aiyoonee says
…if you still have the $0.50/1 Dole pineapple that was available from the Dole Website and from coupons.com a while ago (I printed some last month, and it reset for me last week). I paid $0.49 for my pineapple on Thursday. I haven’t checked, but these coupons might still be available to print. Worth a try if you missed it.

Does your Doms still care the less than $1 Tide? Mine has “new” Tide in the travel section. I think it is like $1.29 or something close. I have quite a few exp qs I wanted to use for overage on other things, but can’t seem to find any Doms that still have the less than $1 Tide.

Anyone know how to get to the Coupon Center page on Doms website? When I try to access it just by starting with dominicks.com I can’t ever seem to find it. I can only get to the shortcuts, pge and cellfire links. I can click the link at the left of this blog, but I can’t ever find it on my own through Dom’s website.
