Horizon Organic Milk‘s a great deal. Buying 5 will knock them to $2.49 a gallon – with the .50 coupons from the Dominick’s book, you’re looking at $1.99 a carton – EXCELLENT!
Jewel’s house brand of diapers, Baby Basics, are a good buy with coupons! Jumbo packs are $7.99 each at most stores. Use these $4 printables here and here and cut that price in half… to $3.99 a jumbo pack of diapers! Jewel also has the value pack (cardboard case) of diapers priced around $16.99 – with coupon, it’s $12.99.
Jewel meat deals:
- Jewel’s running their “Fav 4” meat deal again. As usual, your best bets here are anything that gets your cost down around $1.99/lb, regardless of the type of meat you’re buying.
(Anytime meat is under $1.99 a pound (no matter what it is — beef, pork, poultry, or seafood) it’s a buy in my book, because $1.99 is a cycle low and a good benchmark for meat prices.)
Jewel produce deals:
- Vidalia are .99/lb.
- Peaches are .99/lb.
- Celery hearts are $1.99/lb.
- Red seedless grapes are $1.99/lb.
- Pluots (they’re a cross between a plum and an apricot!) are $1.99/lb.
Note to my Safeway shoppers reading from outside Chicagoland: In Chicago, Dominick’s currently accepts expired coupons up to one year past the expiration date, so my coupon matchups for Dominick’s deals will include expired coupons. If an expired coupon matchup is provided, it will be noted with (exp) after the date. Also, in Chicago, Dominick’s does not double coupons (as other Safeway stores do) – if your store doubles, you’ll do even better with many of these deals.
“Buy 8, Save $4” instant-savings sale
Buying any 8 items in the current Dominick’s ad will save $4 instantly at checkout! As with any one of these sales, some items are good deals, some aren’t. Your best bets… Bull’s Eye Barbecue Sauce is .99 when purchased in groups of 8. Use this $1 printable to get it FREE! (Note that some Doms may not accept this coupon due to their ridiculous “not more than 50% of value” rule on printables.) Rolaids are $1.49 each when purchased in groups of 8. Buy 2 and use the $4-off-2 coupon from 6/6 RP and 1/3 RP (exp.) After instant savings and coupon, FREE with possible overage… 1-liter bottles of Ice Mountain sparkling water are .49 each when purchased in groups of 8. Use the B1G1F coupon from 5/16 RP and pay .49 for two, or about a quarter each… Sobe drinks are .79 each when purchased in groups of 8. Use this B1G1F printable to get two for about .40 each… O Organics tofu is .99 when purchased in groups of 8. If you’ve picked up the “$1 off any O Organics product” coupons found in the store recently, the tofu will be FREE with this coupon. Note that these coupons are limit 1 per transaction — and watch when they’re scanned, as I’ve seen them sometimes only take .01 off when scanned… Rold Gold Pretzels are $1.49 when purchased in groups of 8. Look for $1 peelies on the bags that would drop these to just .49 a bag. (The 5/2 SS has a .55 coupon too for more cheap pretzels…) Kraft Sandwich Shop Mayo is $1.49 when purchased in groups of 8. Use the $1 coupon from 6/13 SS and pay just .49… Boxes of Kraft Mac and Cheese is decent if you need it. They’re .49 each when purchased in groups of 8 (mix and match with others.) These are also good fillers if you’re putting together a deal and need just one more item to get to 8… |
As usual, there are some Dominick’s Super Coupons* in this week’s ads too. Best bets?
- Lucerne 18-ct. large eggs are $1.49, limit 2, with Super Coupon.
- 15.7-16.6lb. bags of Kingsford Charcoal are $5.99, limit 1, with Super Coupon. If you didn’t stock up during the last Catalina sale, this isn’t bad — especially if you printed some of the “Gather Round the Grill” coupons and have manufacturer Kingsford coupons to stack in too.
Deals continuing from previous weeks:
Snuggle fabric softener is on sale for $3.99 each when you buy 2 or more at a time (through June 30.) Buy two and use two of the $3 Snuggle coupons from 3/28 RP or 10/4/09 RP (exp) and pay just .99!
If you go to Dominick’s, look for displays with coupon booklets in them:
O Organics – brochure card with “$1 off any O Organics Item” coupons in the store, expiring 12/31/10! These are GREAT coupons for products like organic milk and produce
Add Dairy to your Summer Adventure – $26 worth of manufacturer AND store coupons for many dairy products, expiring 7/14-7/24/10
June Coupon Booklet – small yellow square book – they’ve been releasing these monthly
Dominick’s meat deals:
- Fresh Perdue whole chickens are .79/lb.
- Fresh chicken drumsticks, thighs or leg quarters are $1.29/lb.
- Fresh split chicken breast is $1.69/lb.
- 93% lean ground beef is $1.99/lb.
Dominick’s produce deals:
- Green beans are .99/lb.
- Yellow or white peaches are $1.49/lb.
- 2lb. containers of strawberries are $2.99 – that’s $1.50/lb.
- Eating Right baby carrots are $1.69 for a 1lb. bag.
- Tomatoes on the vine are $1.99/lb.
*A note on Dominick’s Super Coupons:
What does “minimum $10 (or $20) purchase required” mean? To use store coupons that include a minimum purchase requirement, you must spend a minimum dollar amount on that shopping trip. You will reach the minimum purchase amount based upon total purchases after your Club Card discount is applied. For example, the regular retail price of a box of Cheerios (after Club Card discounts) will count toward the minimum purchase required in order to use the Cheerios coupon.
Heading over to Meijer, here are your best deals of the week for Meijer stores in in Algonquin, Aurora, Bloomingdale, Bolingbrook, Elgin, McHenry, Oswego, Plainfield, Rolling Meadows, and St. Charles:
Here’s a little deal on Lysol! Lyson sprays and wipes sell for $1.40 each, regular price, at most Meijer stores. There’s a Meijer Mealbox store coupon for $1 off 4 Lysol. Stack this with the $1-off-2 Lysol coupons from 6/6 SS (there are 2 coupons in the insert) – buy 4, and pay $2.60 for 4, or .65 each!
Meijer is running another one of their famous “Buy 10, Get the 11th Item Free” sales. Your best bets here?
Meijer ground turkey – it’s $1 for a 1lb. chub package – already a STEAL. Buy 10 and get the 11th free, which knocks it around .90/lb!
Hormel sliced pepperoni – $1 a package, but with the .35 coupon from 5/2 SS, it’s .65… AND part of the Buy 10, get 11th sale.
Betty Crocker Cookie Mix and Warm Delights are $1 each. Use the .50 coupon for cookie mix from 5/30 GM and/or the .50 printable for Warm Delights and get them for half price…
Meijer meat deals:
- Meijer ground turkey is $1 for a 16-oz. chub package AND part of the “Buy 1, get 11th free” sale…
- Tyson boneless skinless chicken breasts are $1.99/lb.
Meijer produce deals:
- Bi-color sweet corn is .20 an ear
Note that Meijers in other states are on different schedules. The Illinois Meijers are about a week behind on the sales vs. Indiana/Michigan. If you’re in Illinois, these Meijer deals run through Wednesday. If you’re reading from another state, they ENDED Saturday at your store… Confusing? Yes.
AND, if you shop at the Illinois NILES Meijer location, they haven’t been following the same sale flyer as the other Illinois Meijers, under the convoluted reasoning that because the store is new, people will shop there -without- as many products being on sale. O-kay.
For my Rockford-area shoppers (and Kroger shoppers too!) here are your Hilander sales for the current week…
Here’s a little deal on Frosted Mini-Wheats and milk! Frosted Mini-Wheats are on sale for $1.88. When you buy 2, you’ll get a free gallon of Kroger milk. Make this better with coupons… load this $1-off-2 ecoupon from Cellfire and stack it with a $1-off-2 manufacturer coupon from 6/6 RP, a printable, or another printable. You’ll pay .88 a box AND get free milk for your cereal!
Note that the Cellfire coupon expires TODAY, so do this deal quickly..!
Dannon Dan-O-Nino yogurt is on sale for $2. Use the $1.50 coupon from the 6/13 SS and pay just .50 for a 6-pack!
Hilander meat deals:
- Kroger chicken quarters are .59/lb. – FANTASTIC price!
- Whole Boston butt pork is $1.29/lb.
- Tyson boneless, skinless chicken breasts or tenderloins are $1.97/lb.
- Pork chops are $1.99/lb.
- Hickory Hills boneless ham is $1.99/lb
Hilander produce deals:
- Sweet corn is .20 an ear
- Russet baking potatoes are .87/lb
- Seedless red grapes and Georgia peaches are .97/lb.
- 2lb. containers of strawberries are $2.97 – that’s under $1.50/lb.
- Asparagus and tomatoes on the vine are $1.97/lb.
Remember too that Hilander doubles coupons up to .55 face value every day! You are only allowed to double two of the SAME coupon per day though — additional coupons will ring at face value. (Split your trips if you’re stocking up!)
Readers outside Illinois will want to check with their local Kroger or Kroger-affiliated stores to determine how they handle coupon doubling.
Here’s a deal on Glade Fabric & Air Odor Spray too. It’s on sale for $3.49. Use this $2 Target coupon and stack it with the $1 manufacturer coupon from 6/6 SS or a printable, and pay just .49 for the bottle…
Deals continuing from previous weeks:
Ready for some travel-sized freebies? Any time a coupon says it’s good on ANY size of a product, use it on the travel size. With many travel sizes under $1, a $1 coupon makes them FREE! (Yes, it is Target’s policy to accept these and adjust down to .97 or whatever the exact price is.) So, buy travel sizes of the following…
Tresemme hair spray – .97. Use printable.
Vaseline Aloe Fresh Lotion – .97. Use $1 printable.
Shout stain wipes – .97. Use printable
SOME editions of the 5/16 RP contained a Target store coupon for $1 off any Bounty paper towels. Single rolls of Bounty Basic sell for .99 at most Targets! Get a roll free (through 7/31!)
Target has launched mobile Target coupons which you can load to your phone. They are Target store coupons that you can stack manufacturer coupons with. Load coupons here. You can also print these offers by going to www.target.com/save and entering your phone number.
Remember too that you get .5 off your total at Target for each reusable bag you bring and use!
Drugstore Deals

As always, these deals are guidelines for shopping. I can make no guarantee that these items will be on sale, in stock, or available at your area store. I can also not guarantee your Catalinas will print, your cashier will smile at you while you check out, or that your shopping cart won’t have a broken wheel. But I CAN teach you how to save money :)
And, also, as always, a huge thanks to the many readers who posted and emailed deals that made it into today’s Deals of the Week! We’re all in this together, and I sincerely appreciate everyone who spots and passes along good deals that we can all enjoy :) Thank you… to YOU!
* (All You magazine is not a requirement for using the site, but if you like coupons, you will probably really enjoy it. It’s a cheap ($2.49 an issue) magazine that is absolutely filled with coupons each month — typically $50-$100 worth per issue! You can subscribe to All You online and save about $10/year off the cover price. And depending on the values, if you use 2 or 3 coupons alone from each issue, you’ve recouped the cost of the magazine, and you’re on your way to even bigger savings.)

I have ran into so many people this last month that are not shopping with coupons. They are totally amazed at how much money they are saving thanks to you. They have attended your classes and are so excited. Its fun watching them shop, its like watching a child with the candy jar! I have even got a couple of managers visiting your site now. Thanks for everything you do Jill.

Just thought i would throw out there that the Hydro razors are actually free at Wags! 7.99-4Q=3.99 and get a $4 RR….so a better deal than CVS :)
onceuponacoupon says
I think the world would end for us couponers if you didn’t post the deals! ;)
Question about the Hormel pepperoni coupons, mine are for .35 from the Trib inserts. I’ve looked through the inserts several times and that is the only one I found. Is this one of those regional things were some papers have higher value coupons or am I missing it in the insert?
SkyEagleWoman says
I didn’t see this posted, so thought I would mention it:
At CVS this week the Renuzit Adjustables are .88 there is a b3g3f in 6/13 RP. This would make them just .44 each.
Bernard2003 says
The Walgreen’s RR deal (get $10 RR for every 3 neutrogena products you buy) is getting better this week, since the same items are now 25% off for this week! The RR deal runs until 6/26, so a wonderful overlap. What I have been able to do:
buy three bar soaps on sale for $2.02 = $6.06
use three may2010 Dom’s bookley Qs = -4.50
total before taxes = $1.56
subtract the RR ($10) = $8.44 MM!!!
I just did this one last night, so I know it’s working :o)
kate says
Just got back from Wags and the Nivea is actually on BOGO so you can get 2 body washes, use a $3 and a $1 coupon and get $6 back. 2 bodywashes and a $4 money maker!
frugalfor6 says
I haven’t tried this yet, but my friend reported that after buying the Smart Balance tubs (she bought the two tub pack), FREE SB milk carton cats printed out, and one for each butter package! Definitely worth a try, especially since there are SB milk Qs out there, so it would be a money-maker!
soapboxtray says
Jill, I saw your note on the hate mail :-( I am pretty sure that the ziploc cat at Dom was running only through yesterday. Unless I read that little tag wrong or the national alert is different. Could have sworn I saw 6/13 on the cat but prices good through 6/18.
QObsession says
I bought strawberries last Wed and when I washed them on Friday the bottom half of the box was moldy. I called Doms to find out what their policy on produce was. They said to bring in my receipt and they would replace the strawberries plus give me my money back. I looked through my receipts and then realized I had actually purchased them at Jewel so I called and asked the same thing there. They said they would replace the strawberries. So in that case Doms is better than Jewel.
frugalfor6 says
Seriously??? Hate mail? Kick ’em off! That’s rediculous. I agree with onceuponacoupon – where would we be without your blog?? I don’t even want to know! Thanks!!
QObsession says
I feel like we have had an overabundance of men’s body wash lately. Don’t these places know women like to be clean too? ;) Anybody have any secret insight as to when some women’s body wash will be cheap/free? I know there is the Neutrogena deal, but the best deal seems to be on the bars.
QObsession says
When I bought my Smart Balance butter last week I got the free SB milk cat. Then when I used the free milk cat to buy the milk, I got another free SB milk cat plus a $2 off SB milk cat. Not sure if this is still working, but it might be worth a try if you are doing a dairy deal.
icoupon2 says
I just read on mashupmom that there is a new rebate on the Schick Hydro razors running 6/14-8/18/10

icoupon2 says
I read on Krazy Coupon Lady that Betty Crocker fruit snacks are 1.49 with the buy 8 save $4 discount and the General Mills fruit snack catalina started today. As much as I dread the prospect of going back there, I have to use my last Dixie $10 cat because its a store coupon.
The fruit snack cat runs until 7/11 so I’m not sure if I should use some of my q’s to do this or see if it gets better along the way. Any thoughts on whether I’d be better off waiting on fruit snacks? It’s not like we NEED them. LOL
6 Fruit Snacks 1.49
2 One liter bottles of Ice Mountain .49 = 9.92
Use three .50 on 2 fruit snacks (coupons.com, 3/7SS,1/3GM)
Use B1G1 Ice Mountain 5/16RP
Pay 7.93, get back 3.50 cat = 4.43 or .55 each for fruit snacks/water.
P.S. There are .50/2 on shortcuts.com & cellfire.com and if you have them loaded you could probably bring the oop down, but I never use ecoupons so I’m couldn’t say if they could be combined with the other q’s.

Has anyone seen the Smirnoff vodka rebate? I really need it and cannot find it!

New Schick Hydro mail in rebate
Published by rachel under rebates
I might just go buy one of these after all! New try me free mail-in-rebate on Schick hydro razors, running 6/14-8/18/10. So… options this week are:
* Walgreens, Schick Hydro, $7.99, get $4.00 RR. Use $4.00/1 from the 6/13 SS to make this free. [Some areas got $5.00/1, but alas, we only got $4.00/1 in Chicago.]
* CVS, Schick Hydro, $8.97, get $4.00 ECB limit 1. Use $4.00/1 in the 6/13 SS to get it for $.97 after ECB.
Also be sure to look in the package — some apparently have a $20 survey form inside!
(Thanks, Common Sense with Money.)

Can we do the ConAgra $25/$10 Catalina Sale deal as many times as we want?
I believe one of the previous Jewel ads from one of the ConAgra $25/$10 Catalina Sales said it was something like One per Customer.
Can we roll this CAT to buy the same exact items?
Thanks,
latteo

I just got back from Wag’s – tried the Reach total care tootbrush deal AND a little “take one for the team” experiment that turned out well.
Rumor has it that if your Wag’s has the Neutrogena travel sized moisture SPF tubes or the Neutrogena travel sized face wash bottles (price about $1.29) then they will also trigger the $10 RR. What I did was buy two foaming facial cleansers (for sure part of the RR deal and on sale 25% off) and one of the trial sized facial wash bottles. SCORE! One $10 RR :o) This means it is possible to do a no-coupon deal with just three of these travel sized items for a very decent MM ($1.29 x 3= 3.87.. minus $10 RR = $6.13 MM!)
The Reach total care toothbrush deal worked out well too – used a BOGO from the 5/16 RP and the $3/1 from this week’s flyer. It worked! (the math – $4.49 per toothbrush x 2 = $8.98. Minus $6 minus $4.49 = a $1.51 MM!)
Thought everyone would want to know about these money makers!

Just wondering if anyone else if having this problem. At both Jewel and Dominick’s I have tried to use a coupon that is just one penny over the price. An example of a recent rejected coupon is the Weber Grill Seasonings which were BOGO for 99 cents at Jewel. The cashier and the manager said they couldn’t accept my coupon for $1. I have not had this problem in the past.

I click on the link given under the Jewel deal & it’s showing it’s for $1 off.
Did they change the value or am I just looking in the wrong place?
thanks

So last night I got 2 72 ct. containers of wipes for 98 cents and was very happy to recieve a $2/1 cat coupon for another pampers wipes! Can’t wait to go get my MM wipes and see if another coupon will print! $3/1 pampers cruisers and free 10 pampers rewards points also printed.
