Grocery Deals
Starting at Jewel, it’s going to be another crazy week! But before we hit the General Mills deal, let’s run through the other good, easy coupon deals you can grab when you’re making your GM Catalina trips…
Crest toothpaste is .99 a tube, limit 10. Use the .75 coupon from 10/10 PG and pay .24!
Longtime reader BlueDemon20 spotted a great deal on Grande Tortilla Chips. They’re on sale for $2 a bag (through 10/30.) Use the $1 coupon from 9/26 SS and pay $1! Also, look for peelies on the bags for “Buy 2, get free 2-liter soda” and grab yourself a bottle of pop too…
Staying with the snack theme, Popchips are also on sale for $2. Use this $1 coupon and take them home for a dollar too!
EDIT: Coupon’s now gone!
We’ve seen this deal many times before, but it’s always a fun one… Fisher Fusions mixed nuts are on sale for $1.50. If you didn’t use your coupons during a past sale, the 6/20 SS has a $1 off. Take these home for .50 a bag!
Several readers have written to say they’ve spotted Cesar dog treats are on clearance for $1.99 at their stores. Use the $2 coupons from 10/3 RP to take them home… free! Here’s a $1 printable if your dog wants more cheap treats.

* NOTE: The “Better At Home” $15 General Mills coupon book will be worth its weight in gold if you’ve got one or more to use with this sale. Unfortunately they did not get distributed at the major grocery stores in Chicagoland — I found mine at Schnuck’s, and readers have also reported finding them at Butera, Ultra, Strack & Van Til. Here’s what’s inside.
If you are a “Black Belt” coupon shopper, you may like these Black Belt Scenarios for the GM $25/$10. This is another one of those crazy sales that even new couponers will be tempted to jump in and try playing the price spread in the “Black Belt” way to take home much for little. (It IS hard to resist so many FREE groceries!) if you choose to, PLEASE, please read and abide by all of the warnings I’ve posted. These sales are crazy enough for the store associates without people becoming demanding in the lane when things don’t quite go your way. If you are willing to assume ALL risks, head on over…
Deals continuing from previous weeks:
Just in time for fall, here’s a deal combo on caramel apple dip and apples! 16oz. T. Marzetti caramel apple dips are on sale for $3 each. Buy two and save $2 instantly on a 3lb. bag of Granny Smith, Gala, McIntosh or Jonathan apples! (The apples sell for $2.99.) So, you’re at $6.99 for two dips and 3lbs. of apples.
Make this better with coupons… 9/19 SS has $1 off T. Marzetti caramel dip, and the October issue of All You has a .75 coupon too. With one of each, pay $5.24 for all. With two $1 coupons, pay $4.99 for all.
Here’s a little Catalina deal on McCormick Spices and Extracts. Buy two and get a $1.50 Catalina, or buy three and get a $3 Catalina (through 10/31.) Reader Letsshop notes that there are $1-off-3 McCormick tearpads in the aisle too. Most spices and extracts range from $1.50-$4.99. The 10/3 RP has a $1 off vanilla extract coupon too. If you bought three $1.50 spices and used a $1 tearpad coupon, you’d pay $3.50 and get a $3 Catalina back… .50 for three spices! Not bad :)
TWO DAYS REMAINING ON FREE 8-PIECE COOKWARE SET CONTEST! Jewel is running a contest in which you can win one of five complete sets of the new cookware… free! It ends on October 20th, so enter NOW if you’d like a chance at winning!
Jewel-Osco has launched a Facebook page. If you have questions directly for corporate, you can ask them there (and they answer promptly!) They’ve also got the free cookware promo under way, so save your stickers from qualifying receipts to earn free pots and pans.
Are you on the Jewel-Osco email list yet? Jewel has been making coupons available for many different products over the past few months, and they’re usually store coupons that you can stack manufacturer coupons with too. I’d recommend getting on their list if you shop there.
Coupon booklets currently found at Jewel
Note that this is a listing of what you MAY find. Coupon books tend to move very quickly once they become available! Look on displays throughout the store to find them.
Secrets of our Flavor – $7 worth of Coca-Cola, Nabisco and Kraft coupons – here’s what’s inside
Jewel meat deals:
- Perdue fresh chicken drumsticks or thighs are $1.69/lb.

- Hormel Always Tender fresh assorted pork chops are $1.79/lb.
- Hormel Always Tender fresh pork rib or loin chops are $1.99/lb.
- Hormel Always Tender fresh pork shoulder roast is $1.99/lb. Look for coupon booklets in the meat department called “Go Hog Wild – Celebrate National Pork Month” with $1 off fresh pork coupons inside to drop these great pork prices even more!
- Fresh Italian sausage or bratwurst are $1.99/lb.
Jewel produce deals:
- 2lb. bags of Valencia oranges are $2.48 – that’s .62/lb.
- Hard shell squash are .79/lb.
- Red or Golden Delicious apples are $1.28/lb.
- Fresh green beans are $1.49/lb.
- Zucchini or yellow squash is $1.49/lb.
- Bosc, Anjou or Red pears are $1.49/lb. – Organic Anjou pears are $1.99/lb.
- 1lb. bags of Wild Harvest organic baby carrots are $2 each
- Organic Gala apples are $1.99/lb.
- Honeycrisp apples are $1.99/lb.
- Strawberries are $3.99, Buy One Get One Free for a 1lb. package — that’s about $2/lb.
(Anytime meat is under $1.99 a pound (no matter what it is — beef, pork, poultry) it’s a buy in my book, because $1.99 is a cycle low and a good benchmark for meat prices — ditto for most produce. Seafood, by its nature, is more expensive per pound, but a good “buy” benchmark is $4 per pound or less for fish or shrimp.)
Note to my Safeway shoppers reading from outside Chicagoland: In Chicago, Dominick’s currently accepts expired coupons up to one year past the expiration date, so my coupon matchups for Dominick’s deals will include expired coupons. If an expired coupon matchup is provided, it will be noted with (exp) after the date. Also, in Chicago, Dominick’s does not double coupons (as other Safeway stores do) – if your store doubles, you’ll do even better with many of these deals.
First off, Barilla Pasta is $1 a box. Pick it up cheap with the .55 coupons in 8/29 SS and 3/7 SS (exp,) the $1-off-2 in 9/26 SS or 8/29 SS (exp) or a printable!
Mentos Gum is free again! It’s on sale for .99 a package. Use the $1 coupons (there are two!) from 10/3 SS and get two FREE!
UPDATE: MANY people have reported their Catalinas NOT printing at Dominick’s today (Monday) – proceed with caution…
Del Monte Canned Fruit is $1 too, and it’s also part of a national Catalina deal: Buy 6 cans and get a $2 Catalina. There’s a $1-off-5 coupon in 9/19 RP. Buy 6, pay $5 and get $2 back… $3 for 6 cans is .50 a can!
Wolf Chili is also on sale for $1 a can. Use the .50 coupon in 9/12 SS and pay .50!
Blog reader Outlander spotted a deal on Hallmark greeting cards. Buy any 3 cards and get a $5 Catalina (through 10/31!) You cannot buy .99 cards, but you CAN buy $1.99 cards. Three of those costs you $5.97 and you get $5 back… NICE!
I also saw a sign in the store advertising another instant deal when you buy FOUR cards. Again, they can’t be the .99 cards, but a fourth card will get you a free small package of Godiva chocolates! Another yummy reward for being such a smart shopper…
Fuze beverages are $1 each as well. Use the $1-off-2 from October All You and pay $1 for both, or .50 each…
Dannon Activia yogurt is $1.99 per 4-pack. Use any of many $1 coupons to drop this to just .99 a 4-pack: 9/12 SS2, 8/29 SS, 8/8 SS, 7/18 SS, 6/6 SS, 5/2 SS, 3/28 SS, 2/28 SS (all exp.) Here’s a .75 printable too.
Ordinarily, this would be a very blog-worthy yogurt deal, but with the yogurt INSANITY going on at Jewel this week with their GM deal, if you’re not brand-specific, you might want to pick it up cheaper there.
CapriSun is on sale for $1.99 for a 10ct. box. If you didn’t use it during a past sale, use the $1 coupon from 4/25 SS (exp) and pay .99 for the box!
Dominick’s is running a “Buy 4, Save $4” instant-savings sale on Jimmy Dean products. Your best buys here? Jimmy Dean Sausage Roll, Fully Cooked Sausage and Jimmy Dean Breakfast Bowls. Remember, you must buy 4 to get these prices. Use coupons to drop them even more: 12-16oz. Sausage Roll – $2.49 when purchased in quantities of 4. Fully Cooked Sausage – $2.49 when purchased in quantities of 4. Breakfast Bowls – $1.50 when purchased in quantities of 4. |
Dominick’s is running a DIFFERENT “Buy 4, Save $4” instant-savings deal on groceries too. Best buys are shown below. Remember, you must buy in quantities of 4 to get these prices. Use coupons to drop them even more: Bertolli Pasta Sauce – $1.49 each when purchased in quantities of 4 Lipton Tea (72-100ct bags or 18-20ct. pyramids) – $1.99 each when purchased in quantities of 4 Wish Bone Dressing – $1.49 each when purchased in quantities of 4 |
As usual, there are Dominick’s Super Coupons* in this week’s ads too. These are store coupons, which (in the case of the name-brand products) means they can be stacked with manufacturer coupons for even bigger savings. NEW! You can also now load these Super Coupons to your Fresh Values card via Dominicks.com and not have to clip them! Best bets?
- Kellogg’s Pop Tarts are $1.88 for the 12-count box, limit 4, with Super Coupon. Use $1-off-2 coupons from 7-11 RP or 6/13 RP (both exp) and pay $2.76 for two, or $1.38 a box. 3/29 RP also has a $1.25-off-3 (exp) and 8/29 SS has a $1-off-3.
- Mission Tortillas are $1.29 each, limit 4, with Super Coupon. Use the .75 coupon from 8/1 SS or 3/7 SS (both exp) and pay .54!
- Margaritaville 8-10oz frozen shrimp are $4.99 a box, limit 2, with Super Coupon. Use the $1 coupon from 4/25 RP (exp) and pay $3.99. Per ounce, still not super-cheap, but these are a guilty pleasure of mine! :)
- Kraft Macaroni and Cheese is .69 for a single box, limit 10, with Super Coupon. Not a bad price in the absence of any other deal, if you need it. And, reader onceuponacoupon notes that in the Fall Into Savings coupon books from Jewel there’s a $1-off-3 manufacturer coupon to stack here! With that, buy three and pay $1.07 for three, or .36 each!
- If you somehow missed the cheap toilet paper insanity over the past couple of weeks at Jewel, Cottonelle 12-roll toilet paper is $4.99, limit 2, with Super Coupon. There have been blinkies out for $2 off the multipack, which would knock this to $2.99. April and July issues of All You also have $1 coupons (exp.) NOW, here’s where this one gets fun. Cottonelle is also part of a national Catalina deal — buy two and get a $2 Catalina! So, with two blinkies, pay $5.98 and get $2 back — $3.98 for two is $1.99 per 12-roll pack of Cottonelle!
- Dominick’s also has Super Coupons for $1.99 MultiGrain Cheerios, $1.99 Pillsbury Cookie Dough and Sweet Moments and .88 Progresso. There is only one place in town you should even think about buying these this week, and… it’s not here. Sorry, Doms..!
Deals continuing from previous weeks:
Mott’s Apple Juice is $1.99 a bottle. If you have any of the Dominick’s “Make a Muscle” coupon books from earlier this summer, there’s a $2-off-2 inside — use it for .99 Mott’s apple juice! The Jewel “Fall Into Savings” coupon book has a $1.50-off-2 for $1.24 juice — also cheap!
Purina Cheweez dog treats currently sell at Dominick’s for $1.25 a package. Buy 4, use the $4-off-4 coupon from 9/12 RP and pay $1 for FOUR bags! Your dog likes good deals too! OR look for them at Meijer, where they’re on sale for $1 each again… FREE with the same coupon.
If you haven’t yet signed up for the new “Just For U” electronic discounts that you can load to your Dominick’s Fresh Values card, you may want to. For registering your card, you’ll receive an ecoupon for a FREE 12-ct. Lucerne large eggs! You’ll also activate a set of electronic discounts that are tied to your card for the next 90 days. Each person’s discounts are different, and they’re based on past purchases made with your Fresh Values card at Dominick’s. Learn more here.
Coupon booklets currently found at Dominick’s
Note that this is a listing of what you MAY find. Coupon books tend to move very quickly once they become available! Look on displays throughout the store to find them. Some Dominick’s are now keeping these coupon books behind the Customer Service counter, so you may want to ask at your store.

- Large hothouse tomatoes are $1.99/lb.
*A note on Dominick’s Super Coupons:
What does “minimum $10 (or $20) purchase required” mean? To use store coupons that include a minimum purchase requirement, you must spend a minimum dollar amount on that shopping trip. You will reach the minimum purchase amount based upon total purchases after your Club Card discount is applied. For example, the regular retail price of a box of Cheerios (after Club Card discounts) will count toward the minimum purchase required in order to use the Cheerios coupon.
Heading over to Meijer, here are your best deals for Meijer stores in in Algonquin, Aurora, Bloomingdale, Bolingbrook, Elgin, McHenry, Oswego, Plainfield, Rolling Meadows, St. Charles, and the Indianapolis area:
Reader MomOf4 spotted a deal if you have multiple $1 Gain dish detergent coupons from the 10/10 P&G inserts. When you purchase 3 Gain products, you’ll receive a $3 Catalina. The BIG 26-30oz. Gain dish detergent bottles are currently on sale for $2 each. If you have three coupons, buy 3, pay $3, and get a $3 Cat back… making ALL 3 bottles free!
Meijer is running another “Buy 10 for $10, get the 11th FREE” sale this week. This one doesn’t seem as exciting as previous sales, as many of the items (Green Giant vegetables, Pizza Rolls) are MUCH cheaper at Jewel this week. Best bets here?
Land O Lakes spreadable butter – use this .50 printable and pay .50…
Old Orchard 100% juice frozen concentrates – use this $1-off-4 printable and pay $3 for 4, or .75 each.
Meijer is also running a Catalina deal on Levi’s jeans and casual pants! (I love when Meijer runs Catalina deals on clothing..!) Buy 2 or more pairs of Signature by Levi Strauss jeans or casual pants and receive a $10 Catalina for your next grocery purchase at Meijer.
The ad shows boys and girls’ Signature Levis on sale for $12.99 a pair, so if you bought two at $25.98 and got a $10 Cat back, you’ll pay $15.98 for two pairs of jeans, or $7.99 each – a steal for Levis.
Misses jeans are $17.99 in the ad – plus size $19.99. Unfortunately the ad doesn’t show prices for the men’s jeans.
This deal does exclude jeans and pants on clearance.
Many people in our Forum were excited about a deal on the Lysol No-Touch Hand Soap Dispenser at Menards over the weekend. If you missed it, the soap dispenser is pretty cheap at Meijer this week too. It’s on sale for $6. Use the $3 coupon from 9/19 SS and pay $3!
Note that this coupon expires on 10/19 – shop soon!
Purina Cheweez dog treats are on sale for $1 again at Meijer! Buy 4, use the $4-off-4 coupon from 9/12 RP and pay… NOTHING! Dogs love free treats, don’t they? (And if you don’t have a dog, food pantries and animal shelters would love to accept your free dog treats :)
Are you a Meijer Mperks member yet? Mperks is a different set of electronic Meijer coupons. They’re attached to your cellphone number, but aside from one text message to activate your account, you do not need to use text messaging to continually use them. Once you register with Meijer Mperks, you log into the Mperks website and click the electronic coupons you’d like to load to your account. Then, when you’re at the checkout, type your cellphone number into the keypad at the register, and your coupons come off automatically.
Right now, you’ll also get a $2-off-$5 off your next shopping trip bonus for signing up for Mperks!
Meijer meat deals:
- Grade A chicken drumsticks and thighs are .99/lb.
- Center cut half boneless pork loin is $1.59/lb.
- Frozen boneless skinless chicken breasts are $7.99 for a 4lb. bag – that’s about $2/lb.
Meijer produce deals:
- Ten different varieties of Michigan apples are .59/lb
- Organic Golden Delicious or Royal Gala apples are $1.29/lb.
- Greenhouse tomatoes on the vine are $1.49/lb.
- Jack-O-Lantern pumpkins are $3.49 each – about the cheapest I’ve seen them this season
Note that Meijers in other states are on different schedules. The Illinois Meijers are about a week behind on the sales vs. Indiana/Michigan. If you’re in Illinois, these Meijer deals run through Wednesday. If you’re reading from another state, they ENDED Saturday at your store… Confusing? Yes.
AND, if you shop at the Illinois NILES or ORLAND Meijer locations, they haven’t been following the same sale flyer as the other Illinois Meijers, under the convoluted reasoning that because the stores are newer, people will shop there -without- as many products being on sale. O-kay.
For my Rockford-area shoppers (and Kroger shoppers too!) here are your Hilander sales for the current week…

Readers outside Illinois will want to check with their local Kroger or Kroger-affiliated stores to determine how they handle coupon doubling.
Ooh! One of my favorite annual Target deals is back! My longtime readers will remember the crazy deal that seems to come around each fall on Glade holiday air freshener sprays, candles, Plug-Ins, and scented oils!
The deal is this… Buy any 5 Glade Holiday items and get a free $5 Target gift card! We’ll be watching this one for the next two months (!) as it runs through December 26th, and many Glade items will go on and off sale prices during that time. The jar candles are currently $2.50 each — we will likely see better prices over the weeks ahead, so this is more of a big heads-up to the sale kind of post. I see some potential with the B1G1F and B2G1F coupons too if anything happens sale-wise within the next two weeks.
At any rate, here are the coupons you’ll want to clip and carry, likely for the duration of the sale. And, with the printables, print them NOW as they will likely hit their print limits once word of this sale spreads…

Complete details of this sale are in this week’s 10/17 SS insert. There’s A NICE long window of time to get in on this deal, as in previous years the shelves have gone bare off and on due to the sheer volume of coupons available for the deal (and the number of couponers taking advantage of it!) AND, we saw Glade become big moneymakers during certain weeks with good sale prices. It’s got the potential to be fun again.
If you haven’t done a Kraft deal involving the great $5-off-5 Kraft coupon that you can print here, print two and start putting a deal together this week. Kraft Deli Slices are on sale for $2.25 each. Buy 5 and use the $5 off manufacturer coupon. Stack it with the $1-off-2 Target store coupon for Kraft. You’ll pay $5.25 for 5 packages, or about $1.05 each!
Kraft Singles are on sale for $2.50 each. You can do the same deal with the same two coupons, and you’ll pay $6.50 for 5, or $1.30 each.
The, um, “big kids” in my household also noticed the special, seasonal 12ct. Pumpkin Pop-Tarts on sale for $2.50 at Target this week. This is not a great price as far as “normal” Pop-Tarts go, but if you’re tempted to try them, use the $1-off-3 from 8/29 SS, buy 3 and pay $2.17 a box.
Here’s a non-grocery deal on an item that I LOVE and rely on to bring you the Deals every single week… Target has the Logitech V220 cordless notebook mouse on sale for $12! These usually sell near $30 — I was thrilled to get mine for around $20 over a year ago. If you need one, this is a great little, portable wireless mouse.
“No Coupon Needed” Deals:
Archer Farms organic milk is $2.99 a carton…
Deals continuing from previous weeks:
Target has launched mobile Target coupons which you can load to your phone. They are Target store coupons that you can stack manufacturer coupons with. Load coupons here. You can also print these offers by going to www.target.com/save and entering your phone number.
Remember too that you get .05 off your total at Target for each reusable bag you bring and use.
Target produce deals:
- Green seedless grapes are $1.49/lb.

Coffee-Mate Coffee Creamer is on sale for $2.69, Buy One, Get One Free. If you have the Dominick’s $70 coupon book, there’s a $1 coupon inside. And if you have TWO coupon books, use two coupons (one for each bottle) and pay .69 for TWO, or about .35 each!

And lastly, a Halloween candy deal! We typically do NOT see very good prices on Halloween candy prior to the holiday, but this one’s pretty good. As always, these deals are guidelines for shopping. I can make no guarantee that these items will be on sale, in stock, or available at your area store. I can also not guarantee your Catalinas will print, your cashier will smile at you while you check out, or that your shopping cart won’t have a broken wheel. But I CAN teach you how to save money :)
And, also, as always, a huge thanks to the many readers who posted and emailed deals that made it into today’s Deals of the Week! We’re all in this together, and I sincerely appreciate everyone who spots and passes along good deals that we can all enjoy :) Thank you… to YOU!
* (All You magazine is not a requirement for using the site, but if you like coupons, you will probably really enjoy it. It’s a cheap ($2.49 an issue) magazine that is absolutely filled with coupons each month — typically $50-$100 worth per issue! You can subscribe to All You online and save about $10/year off the cover price. And depending on the values, if you use 2 or 3 coupons alone from each issue, you’ve recouped the cost of the magazine, and you’re on your way to even bigger savings.)

Just got back from Jewel myself and did two black belt deals. My family is soooo happy! Thanks for all your hard work Jill!

It could be that I’m just tired, but I can’t find any scenarios for the GM catalina sale at Jewel in your post. The black belt section has the Con-Agra. Am I missing it? Would love to see the scenarios you used for your $13.08 shopping trip!
Thanks for all you do!

Went to Wags and did this yesterday using 2 $1.50 coupons. The first rang up at $2.49 and the second rang up at $.20 The first one took the full value, but they adjusted the second to $.20. So no Free or overage for me! Not sure how you would get past it, but thought I would share!

Meijer mPerks policy prohibits stacking.
Directly from the Q and A on Mperks page –
Q: Can mPerks (digital coupons) be used with (paper) manufacturer coupons?
A: There is a limit of one coupon per item. mPerks (digital) and paper coupons cannot be combined on the purchase of a single item.

Chill Green Tea in the 16 ounce 6-pack is currently on clearance at my area Jewel stores so it might be at yours. Regularly $3.99 now .99. Comes in Berry and Citrus varieties and is located right by the Arizona Teas.
jelvislives says
Yesterday at my Jewel store there were signs near the empty granola bar shelves stating, “Post where appropriate”. (I’m assuming “appropriate” means empty shelves) I can’t recall the exact wording but it explained that General Mills is experiencing extreme raw material shortages which is greatly affecting supply.

Hi Jill,
Just wondering…I went to go print the glade product coupons and it only allowed me to print 1. Does this sometimes happen? Also, the expiration dates where 11/17/10 and not 12/21/10. Do I need to do something different to get those expiration dates noted in your post.
dancingwolves says
that you were so kind to link for us may not work at all Dominick’s. Tried it this morning and it wasn’t accepted because the Barilla pasta on sale for $1 does not include the PLUS variety. I’m still holding on to the coupon as I know it will come in handy in the future. Now that I’m thinking about it, time to check expired coupon box…

FYI..I bought 4 200 count Kleenex tissue today and no $3 cat for me. Cat machine was working. Maybe the $3 cat doesn’t start until Nov 1st? I think…
korgan00 says
The Tidy Cats litter that is included in this deal, if I buy 10 of the litter, does that make the price $1.49 per bag? I can do 100lbs of litter for $14 is a great deal.

Hi,
Can anyone tell me when it comes time to redeem my $20.00 in Catalina’s can I use all (4) $5.00 cats in one transaction or do I have to split up my order? I did the $25/$10 GM deal this morning twice and got (4) $5.00 cats but I’m not sure how to use them…(Jewel in Crown Point, Indiana)
Thank You..

Is anyone else having an issue with the Catalina’s not scanning? This am when I did my first round – the checker entered them manual and the new ones came out. Just now I did 3 more and becuase of the way she entered them the catalina’s did not print. I went to the desk and they were able to run them for me, but I was not able to use them immediately?

If you have any of .55/1 IP’s, pair those with the $1/1 coupons to get more for free. The IP is no longer available though.
Buy 4 mentos for $1.29
use 2 $1/1 and 2 .55/1
Get 4 for free
Just tried this, but my CVS had the gum marked $1.79, not $1.29. So, I should have gone with 4 $1/1 coupons. But, I didn’t notice in time. Oh well!
Jill, I looked in the flyer and it says B1G1, but no sale price.

I will just throw it out there in case people did not know – like me, until this week. It says so on the can, because they are sure. Unlike the healthy choice ones where it is not stated anywhere even on the ones that are supposed to be, because they do not want to take the liability, as in, they are not 100% sure in my book.
Ruby Red says
Both Jill’s deals and the Jewel ad state that the Progresso soups that are part of the GM Cat deal are the “Vegetable Classics” yet on the UPC list there are many listed that are not veggie. I am wondering if anyone has had luck buying soups other than the vegetable classics.

Hi,
Quick question on the $25/$10.00 catalina deals. Is there a certain way the cashier should ring your purchase up when doing this deal at Jewel. I went to Jewel yesterday morning and purchased the participating products and the cashier told me that some people have the cashier ring the purchase up w/o their preferred card then when the cashier totals the transaction to assure you’ve reached the $25. I wasn’t aware you could “wait” to use your preferred card seeing I always have it out and ready for them to snatch up before ringing. I’m just trying to figure out the quickest most efficent way when dealing with these sales.
What do you guys do?
Thank you for all the advice, you guys have been VERY helpful for a newcomer like me..:)

I saw on another site that Cascadian Farms cereals and bars were “unofficially” included in the GM deal (did not show up on UPC lists), so I tried it. I included 2 CF cereals in a deal last night and it worked. I’m very excited because these are expensive cereals! I used 2 IP coupons – not sure which site I got them from (I think they were from a link in one of those Betty Crocker/Pillsbury newsletters like Dinner Made Easy or Eat Better America).

Hello
Some of the items on the Deals of the Week list for the GM deal were not labeled as part of the promotion at my Jewel. Neither the GG Valley Fresh Steamers or the Yoplait Delights had the $25/$10 sign like the other items. I didn’t want to buy them in case there was a mistake because I didn’t want to be short on my $25. Do these vary by store? I didn’t think so, but perhaps I am wrong.
Thanks!

I didn’t see it on a UPC list that I saw, and I saw a lady returning a bunch yesterday, and saying something about “it says selected items.” Also, there is no tag under the product in the store linking it to the sale as there is for the regular gogurt.
Has anyone been able to do any deals with this?

I just wanted to share this experience. I was in CVS last week and had about $18 worth of Extra Bucks that had expired on 9/29/10. I had been busy for the weeks prior due to my mom’s health conditions and putting is so many hours at work that I hadn’t gone shopping for a few weeks and forgot my Extra Bucks expired. Well I asked the cashier if they accepted expired Extra Bucks. I was able to use about half of them that day and I returned last night to the same CVS and used the remaining half. They won’t scan, but the cashier can scan it and somehow manually get it to deduct.

This is the first week I’ve been able to use what I’ve learned…and what a massive difference it’s made in my shopping! I had a ton of fun on Monday working my way through the coupons, finding them, cutting them and organizing! I can’t believe how much I’ve saved…and how addicted I am to doing this! I took my mom last night, and she was amazed at how little we spent on everything! I’m grateful for one more day of the $25/10…I can’t wait to stock up on more things for my family and pay next to nothing!
Thanks Jill for coming to FBC Elgin! I’ve been sharing with friends on Facebook how little I’ve been spending and they are just amazed! Some of them hopefully will be taking classes with you soon!!! :D

While in St. Charles today I decided to stop at Jewel to see if they still had anything left in stock since I still had a bunch of coupons. To my surprise they were very well stocked and since they weren’t very busy I got enough items for 4 transactions. While at the self check out I apologized to the cashier for making him come over to scan my coupons for all my transactions and I asked if many other people were doing this. He said don’t worry you’re not the worst, at least you’re nice about it. On Monday he said they had two people at the self check out for 45 minutes and they were both very demanding and causing the lines to get backed up. When shopping during peak hours please try not to over do it with an insane amount of transactions, or perhaps let the people behind you go through after you’ve done a few. I would hate for Jewel to initiate some silly policy that you can only make one transaction per trip. Please don’t ruin it for the rest of us! Not to mention you give couponers a bad name!

I went to Dominicks today and purchased my 6 cans of Delmonte fruit. I never got the $2.00 back. I did bring it to the service desk just to make sure it was not the printer, etc. The service manager told me that if there is not a sticker on the product stating that you earn X amount back when you purchase a certain amount then they are not running that deal. I was very kind, but still very bummed. Just thought I would share that the cat. deal did not work for me.

Jill,
Thanks so much for all you do for sooo many! A year ago this month my husband went on disability from work. We had to wait for 6 months before any kind of aid came through. It was so bad for a while that we were eating one meal a day and most of them being $2.00 pizza’s from Aldi. It was about February when I took your class with my mom. Life has never been the same again!!! You have been such a God send Jill!!! Now living on half the income we were used to, I have never had so much food in the house. I am feeding not only my family and my teenagers friends (ours is the house to go to for snacks), but I am donating bags of food to the hungry(church/food shelters)and helping out the animal shelters. It is such as awesome feeling! We are eating better, better cuts of meat, more fruits & veggies, and things that I would never buy because they were “too” expensive! I spent about $50.00 this week. $30.00 at Jewel for around $300+ worth of food, and $4.00 for $100 worth of beauty/cleaning/food at Wags and the rest at Kroger & CVS! It is so unbelieveable Jill!!! Are you sure it not stealing? It kind of feels like it sometimes! LOL! And, last but not least, I have been stopped and asked a gazillion times “How are you doing that?” I always answer, “Jill is the best! Supercouponing.com!!!” THANKS SO MUCH!!! :0)
