A note on overage and B1G1F sales

Jewel’s coupon policy allows shoppers to apply manufacturer coupon overage to other items in the same transaction. It also allows two manufacturer coupons to be used on a Buy One Get One Free sale. There have been register issues with this in the past, but many reports are coming in that the issues have been fixed. (Fantastic!)

Watch very closely with two coupons on a Buy One Get One Free. The second coupon will appear to scan fine, but it will show as $0.00 at the register. Be prepared to call on your cashier to manually adjust this for you immediately if they do not intervene.

If you anticipate any issues with this, I would recommend carrying a copy of Jewel’s coupon policy, which outlines both of these issues clearly.

Just got back from Jewel in Wauconda where Suavitel is clearanced to $1.49. After checkout 51, its only $.49! Only thing… the sign on the endcap said “this store only”.

I just bought Maruchan Yakisoba trays at Walmart the other day with that Q. They are regular price $0.58 there.
Also, remember last week when you guys said that Dole Catalina didn’t work at Jewel? At my Jewel they had tags for it by the product. I didn’t get mine though, because the cashier had to move my order to other register and it didn’t print and I forgot about it. I’ll have to email them.

Here are a few more clearance items I picked up (I’m loving the Jewel clearance lately!)

– 2-packs of Firefly Angry Birds light-up toothbrushes for kids were .99. They had .75 peelies on them that made them .24!

– Gillette Mach 3 men’s razors (“Sensitive” kind that uses cartridges, not the disposable kind) were $3.00. I’ll go back & post-redeem the $3 Gillette coupons from the 2/8 RP and they’ll be free!

– Olay eye moisturizer was on clearance for $3.50. I’ll post-redeem the $1.50 coupon from the 3/1 PG and drop this to $2!
