Are you a Meijer Mperks member? Mperks is a different set of electronic Meijer coupons. They’re attached to your cellphone number, but aside from one text message to activate your account, you do not need to use text messaging to continually use them. Once you register with Meijer Mperks, you log into the Mperks website and click the electronic coupons you’d like to load to your account. Then, when you’re at the checkout, type your cellphone number into the keypad at the register, and your coupons come off automatically.

Meijer meat deals:

• Pork shoulder bone-in country style ribs are $1.49/lb.
• Certified Angus ground beef from chuck is $1.77/lb.
• Boneless skinless chicken breasts are $1.99/lb.

Meijer produce deals:

• 3lb. bags of yellow onions are $1.25 – that’s about .42/lb.
• Bananas are .37/lb. through MONDAY ONLY
• Peaches, nectarines and plums (many varieties) are .99/lb. ($1.49/lb. for organic)

CHANGE IN POLICY: I was notified this past week that Hilander is no longer doubling .55 coupons to $1.10. They are still doubling .50 coupons to $1.

Land O Lakes Spreadable Butter (7-8oz.) is on sale for $1.69. Use the .40 coupon from 8/7 SS, which doubles to .80, and pay .89!

Hilander is running a “Buy 4, Save $4” instant-savings sale on P&G products! Buying 4 will generate $4 in instant savings.

The majority of the coupons you’ll need for this deal are in the 8/28 PG. Not all of these items are super-hot deals this week, but this is your best bet:

Old Spice and Secret Deodorant are .99 each when purchased in quantities of 4 (mix and match with P&G items in ad.) Buy two and use the $1-off-2 from the 8/28 PG. You’ll pay .98 for TWO, or .49 each!

Kingsford Charcoal (15.7-16.6lb. bags) are on sale for $5.99. Use the $1 coupon from 8/21 SS and pay $4.99! (If you have the $3 coupon from the Dominick’s “Make a Muscle” coupon book, pay $2.99!)

Quaker Chewy Granola Bars are on sale for $2.29. Buy two and use the $1 off 2 coupon from 8/28 RP. You’ll pay $3.58 for two, or $1.79 each.

Coupon books to look for at Walgreens: Walgreens Infant Care (has a $2 coupon inside for Walgreens brand diapers, which often go on sale. All expire 12/2011.)

Mitchum and Lady Mitchum deodorant is on sale for $2.99 with $2 back in Register Rewards. Use the $1 coupon from 8/21 SS, pay $1.99 and get $2 back! Your deodorant is FREE!

Colgate Sensitive toothpaste is on sale for $4.99. Buy it and get $3 back in Register Rewards! Use this $1.50 printable. Pay $3.49 and get $3 back, making this .49! The August All You has a $1 coupon that will net you more toothpaste at .99 (which honestly, unless you really need it, is too high.)

Reader Mark B. sent over a deal on Osteo Bi-Flex Joint Supplement. Bottles of the supplement are $21.99 each, Buy One Get One Free. The 8/7 RP has a $7 coupon, and Walgreens’ policy allows you to use a coupon on EACH item in a B1G1F situation.

This deal gets even more interesting with the $5 coupon in the September store booklet. This will also take $5 off EACH bottle.

Wrapping things up with Walmart…

Gain dish detergent is .97 every day at Walmart. Use the .50 coupon from 8/14 RP and pay .47! (Through 9/30.)

Policies to know:

• Walmart will price match any competitor’s advertised price. Bring the other store’s flyers with you to the store.
   
• With the new coupon policy, Walmart will also accept other store’s STORE coupons with an actual price listed on them. For example, a Dominick’s store coupon advertising “.99 Ragu Pasta Sauce” would be accepted. A Walgreens store coupon advertising “2/$1 Morton’s Salt” would be accepted. (A Target store coupon for “$2.50 off Huggies” would not, because it does not show the actual selling price of the item.)
   
• With the new coupon policy, Walmart will also accept competitor’s Catalina manufacturer coupons. You can get a Catalina for $1 off Snuggle and use it at Walmart.
   
• Walmart’s new coupon policy specifically addresses coupon overage. It says “Coupons may exceed the price of the item. Change may be given or applied toward the cost of the basket purchase.”
   

I would print a copy and carry a copy of the coupon policy with you if you anticipate any issues.

Will I blog Walmart in its entirety each week?

I will not be blogging entire writeups for Walmart each week. Every store location’s regular prices are different, and Walmart does not issue a weekly ad every week. I’ve listed Walmart at the end of each week’s Deals writeup, because if you see any deals above that you want, you’ll likely also be able to do them at Walmart.
