A note on building materials rebates

Menards has paint, siding, roofing, insulation, lighting, and other building materials rebates nearly every week. If you're interested in these, do refer to the weekly ad. I am focusing on the general merchandise rebates with this deals list.

About Menards Rebates

Menards rebates are easy to do! All rebates can be sent in the same envelope. Pick up the rebate forms at the customer service counter after you check out in store, or print the forms online. Each rebate receipt prints below your normal receipt, and it has a number at the top that corresponds to its rebate form. Rebates come in the form of a credit check you can use for future Menards purchases.

Purchases made with Menards rebate checks are tax-free! You can also use your rebate check to buy more bargain or free-after-rebate items and just keep rolling deals over and over. Menards rebates are typically limited to a specific number of items per shopper -- check shelf tags and/or rebate forms to determine the limit. I typically blog ALL rebates I find for Menards, whether they're from the ad or ones I've spotted in store. This is likely the only store matchup list I write where you may see deals on hardware, automotive, building materials, or any of the other wonderful things Menards sells!

When I list rebate deals I spotted in STORE, not in the ad, I'll note them and list the store I found them in. In these cases, the rebate deal end date info comes from the shelf tag in store.

DO make copies, scans, or photos of your rebates before submitting! One of mine was lost in the mail, and without the copies, I would have lost over $200 worth of rebates.&

UPDATE: Menards is now sending rebate postcards with a concealed cardboard flap over the rebate portion so they look like a plain white postcard in the mail.

Not from Menards, but from Home Depot:

Several years ago I bought a set of the Bosch Daredevil spade bits. They are simply THE BEST SPADE BITS I’ve ever used. I replaced everything I had with these. They have a set of 6 (3/8 to 1″), plus 2 extra FREE bits (size not mentioned in the ad) for 4.97.

When installing my aluminum storm door my old spade bits would only scratch the aluminum. These cut it like I was drilling through balsa wood! If you (or anyone you know) uses spade bits, and hasn’t tried these, get a set now!
