Hello, Super-Couponers! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas holiday, and I can’t believe this will be the last Deals of the Week writeup for 2011..! I’m excited that another new year is just days away.
Before we even jump into Deals, I’ll warn you that the sales are VERY light this week, and note that the deals posted begin 12/26 as most stores are closed Christmas Day. Grocery stores tend not to have as many sales the week after Christmas, as these are lower-trafficked days for the stores. (People are home and busy eating leftovers — seriously!) So, I’ve got THREE different blog giveaways running this week to give you a chance to win a little something extra before this year’s through! Enter to win a Dryel 30-Minute In-Dryer Home Dry Cleaning Kit, a gift pack of two cans of Pringles (and a “Kringles” cookie recipe), and an Arm & Hammer SpinBrush My Way kids’ toothbrush!
It IS, however, a great week to do post-Christmas-clearance shopping. I’ll pick up all my Christmas 2012 gift wrap over the next day or so when it’s 50-75% off. Keep that in mind if you’re out at the stores!

As always, grab your scissors and coupon inserts, and get ready to start clipping this week, as bunches of bargains and freebies are heading your way!
This week’s newspaper contained NO coupon inserts. (Why? Weeks on and around holidays typically have little to no coupon inserts, so this is normal.) But today’s 12/25 Parade has some good manufacturer coupons you may wish to save – a $1-off-2 Arm & Hammer laundry detergent (exp/ 3/1/12) and some Olay coupons on the back page: $10 off Olay Pro X moisturizer, $5 off Regenerist moisturizer, and $3 off 2 daily facials or cleansers. All expire 1/31/12.
To our NEW blog readers: If you’re interested in learning to save on almost everything you buy at the grocery store, why not attend a live Super-Couponing workshop? Many are FREE, and you’ll learn how to cut your grocery bill 50-70%! You can also learn at home with my Super-Couponing DVD workshops… and in about one hour, you’ll be saving with coupons like a pro! Learn more!
Now… ready for your Deals of the Week? You may enjoy $1.35 Butterball turkey bacon, $2.24 Challenge butter, $1.50 Honey Bunches of Oats, .29 International Delight coffee creamers, .49 Chi-Chi’s salsa, $1.75 12-packs of Sierra Mist, .69 Dean’s dip, FREE Lichi Super Probiotic, $2.74 Folgers coffee, FREE Zyrtec 24-hour tablets… so let’s get started!

and the drugstore/general merchandise store deals run through Saturday.
“Deals of the Week” is written assuming you are using the inserts from the Chicago Tribune (or, if reading from outside Chicagoland, the largest newspaper serving your market area. That largest paper has the most, highest-value coupons. The content, coupons, and dollar amounts of the coupons in the RedPlum and SmartSource inserts differs by paper, so to coupon effectively, it’s best to subscribe to the paper that contains the highest-value coupons.)

UPDATE: Apparently there was a 12-page Jewel-Osco ad on Christmas Day for the current week, but it was online-only! I had no Jewel flyer in any of my four papers, and neither did some of the readers who wrote to me. This post has been updated with the Dec. 26th-Jan. 4th sales.
The online ad is also good through Thursday, January 4th.
Butterball Turkey Bacon (12oz.) is on sale for $2. Use the .65 coupon from 10/9 SS and pay $1.35! Great price for turkey bacon.
Dean’s Dips (12-16oz.) are on sale for $1.79. Buy two and use this $1-off-2 printable. You’ll pay $2.58 for two, or $1.29 each. Note that they’re even cheaper at Meijer this week (.69 after coupon) if you’re headed there though.
“No Coupon Needed” deals:
Jewel biscuits (8oz., in the can) are .99
Carlita white corn tortillas (5.5in.) are .99
Deals continuing from previous weeks:
Taste of Home FREE Cookbook, 5-cup Rice Cooker and 12-quart Tamale Steamer P&G Promotion
Jewel is running an “A Taste Of Home” mail-in promotion on P&G products. Buy $25 worth of P&G products in one transaction and receive a 2-piece cookware set and one cookbook of your choice via mail (view ad here.)
The cookware is a 12-quart tamale steamer, a 5-cup rice cooker, and one of the following cookbooks: “Fresh Mexico,” “Latin Grilling,” or “Cocina Cubana.” $25 worth of goods must be purchased in the same transaction, and you must submit a receipt from the same store you found the forms in (must be from Jewel – cannot use a Dominick’s receipt, etc.)
The offer runs through 4/30/12, so we have lots of time to line this up to Catalina sales too. Look for the forms for this rebate in Spanish/Latino Jewel locations.
The form for this offer is online too on another store’s website. Several readers called the number on the form and were told that printable versions would be accepted.

Let’s go to Dominick’s… View weekly ad | Load Dominick’s Just For U ecoupons
Note to Safeway shoppers reading from outside Chicagoland: In Chicago, Dominick’s does not double coupons (as other Safeway stores do) – if your store doubles, you’ll do even better with many of these deals. Also, in Chicago, support for previously-available ecoupons (Cellfire, ShortCuts and PGEsaver) have been discontinued. Ecoupons are now available in the “Just For U / Coupon Center” section of electronic coupons available at Dominicks.com.
Dominick’s is also offering Deal Match, where you can load price-matching offers from Jewel and Target to your Fresh Values Card. Load these offers at www.Dominicks.com.
UPDATE: Apparently there was a 2-page Dominick’s ad on Christmas Day for the current week, but just like Jewel, it was online-only! I had no Dominick’s flyer in any of my four papers, and neither did some of the readers who wrote to me. (Hey, it was Christmas Day, guys. :) When I saw no flyers in the paper, I blogged what came in..!) This post has been updated with the Dec. 26th-Dec. 31st Dominick’s sales.
Dominick’s has more good “Just For U”-only sales running this week. Head over to www.dominicks.com and load ecoupons for:
– Pantry Essentials Gallon Milk – $1.97 each, limit 2
– Lucerne Half-Gallon Milk – $1.17 each, limit 2 (UPDATE: As of 12/5, Lactose Free are NO LONGER working at this price for quite a few readers.)
– Butternut White Bread (large loaf) is .99, limit 2
– Ragu pasta sauce (13.5-26oz.) are .99 each, limit 2
Little random deals from this week that I spotted:
My Just For U contained an ecoupon for $5 off $10 purchase of Rancher’s Reserve beef, as well as an ecoupon for a free 1.25 liter bottle of Coke Zero. Check and see if you got anything good! Beef prices weren’t great when I stopped in on Friday, but I did pick up an $11 round roast for $6 after coupon.

16oz. packages of Challenge Butter are on sale for $2.99 again (sign says through January 28th, but the last time it was on sale “through January,” the price magically jumped to $3.99 the next week.) There are .75 coupons in the blinkie dispenser which will drop this to $2.24. There’s a .55 printable too that will drop it to $2.44. This is one of the best times of the year to stock up on butter, so if you haven’t been doing so over the past couple of weeks, grab some before the baking-season price cycle ends and it goes back up in price…
Nabisco crackers are on sale Buy One Get One Free. At first, I thought there was potential for mixing this Buy 2 Get 1 Free Nabisco printable coupon with this sale, but Dominick’s has the crackers priced at an insane $4.99 per box and the coupon is good only up to a $2.50 value..! Might be worth printing the coupon for use with a future sale (mine expires 1/21/12) but… not THIS sale.
Dominick’s produce deals:
- Gala, Braeburn or Red Delicious apples are $1.49/lb.
- California navel oranges are $1.49/lb.
- Hass avocados are .99 each
If you haven’t yet signed up for the “Just For U“ electronic discounts that you can load to your Dominick’s Fresh Values card, you may want to. You’ll activate a set of electronic discounts that are tied to your card for the next 90 days. Each person’s discounts are different, and they’re based on past purchases made with your Fresh Values card at Dominick’s.

Post Honey Bunches of Oats (13-17oz.) are on sale for $2.50. Use this $1 printable and pay $1.50! This hasn’t been on sale for a while, and this isn’t a terrible price… or, print the coupon and hold it for a future sale if you like it (as I do!) They’re also this price at Walgreens this week.
Reader Kelly writes that 16oz. International Delight coffee creamers are on sale for $1.29. Use this $1 Facebook printable and pay .29!

Many readers have spotted a great deal on SnapWare food storage containers! Reader Sebrugger posted that they are on sale at Meijer half-off through much of January for 50% off their normal prices of $1.99-$3.99. Use the $3 coupon from 10/16 SS and pick up some FREE SnapWare!
Are you a Meijer Mperks member? Mperks is a different set of electronic Meijer coupons. They’re attached to your cellphone number, but aside from one text message to activate your account, you do not need to use text messaging to continually use them. Once you register with Meijer Mperks, you log into the Mperks website and click the electronic coupons you’d like to load to your account. Then, when you’re at the checkout, type your cellphone number into the keypad at the register, and your coupons come off automatically.

- 5lb. boxes of Clementines are $4.99 – that’s about $1/lb.
- Extra-large sweet cherries are $2.99/lb.
- Avocados are $1 each
Note that Meijers in other states are on different schedules. The Illinois Meijers are about a week behind on the sales vs. most of Indiana/Michigan. If you’re in Illinois, these Meijer deals run through Wednesday. If you’re reading from another state, they ENDED Saturday at your store… Confusing? Yes.
AND, if you shop at the Illinois NILES or ORLAND Meijer locations, they typically haven’t been following the same sale flyer as the other Illinois Meijers.

Here are your Hilander deals (also running at Logli and Schnucks)… View weekly ad
The Rockford-area Logli stores share the same ad as Hilander (Schnucks) now, so these deals apply at the four Rockford-area Logli stores as well. I have had some readers from DeKalb write and ask if these deals will also apply to their store. In looking at both ads, SOME of the deals are the same, but Rockford at times has a Hilander-specific wraparound that isn’t a part of the DeKalb Schnucks ad. Remember too that the DeKalb store does not double coupons.
There is no new Schnuck’s ad for the current week.
Off to Target…

There isn’t a whole lot in this week’s Target ad. They’re pushing lots of after-Christmas items, like ornament and tree storage solutions if you need those things.
Target Notes:
You get .05 off your total at Target for each reusable bag you bring and use. If you pay with the Target credit card, you receive another 5% off.

(The larger 34.5oz. is also on sale at CVS this week for $6.99 – $6.74 after coupon. That’s .20/ounce, a little cheaper than the above deal, which puts you at .24/ounce for the 11.3oz. can.)

Skin Effects
PetCentral

Lumene
Frutopia
CVS vitamins and batteries are NOT included. And, anything house-branded that is involved in an additional ECB deal is also NOT included (I had thought diapers might be a good buy with this sale, but they have their own “Buy 6, get 7th FREE” ECB deal already running.)
CVS is also running a “Spend $30, Get $10 in ECBs” deal on ANY L’Oreal skin care, excluding clearance items. There are no prices in the ad, but your coupons are:

CVS Tips: Remember to always scan your CVS card at the Coupon Center scanner in the store — it prints bonus coupons for you!
And, if you haven’t already, make sure your CVS ExtraCare card is registered for the CVS Beauty Club before you do any deals involving beauty products. It gives you $5 in ECBs for every $50 you spend on beauty products, and it is cumulative, meaning you don’t have to spend $50 in one trip. It keeps track for you and will automatically print ECBs on your next visit to the store when you reach a $50 threshold.

Wrapping things up with Walmart…
Policies to know:
- Walmart will price match any competitor’s advertised price. Bring the other store’s flyers with you to the store.
- With the new coupon policy, Walmart will also accept other store’s STORE coupons with an actual price listed on them. For example, a Dominick’s store coupon advertising “.99 Ragu Pasta Sauce” would be accepted. A Walgreens store coupon advertising “2/$1 Morton’s Salt” would be accepted. (A Target store coupon for “$2.50 off Huggies” would not, because it does not show the actual selling price of the item.)
- With the new coupon policy, Walmart will also accept competitor’s Catalina manufacturer coupons. You can get a Catalina for $1 off Snuggle and use it at Walmart.
- Walmart’s new coupon policy specifically addresses coupon overage. It says “Coupons may exceed the price of the item. Change may be given or applied toward the cost of the basket purchase.”
I would print a copy and carry a copy of the coupon policy with you if you anticipate any issues.
I do not blog Walmart deals each week unless there is a weekly ad with noteworthy deals. Every store location’s regular prices are different, and Walmart does not issue a weekly ad every week. I’ve listed Walmart at the end of each week’s Deals writeup, because if you see any deals above that you want, you’ll likely also be able to do them at Walmart.

As always, these deals are guidelines for shopping. I can make no guarantee that these items will be on sale, in stock, or available at your area store. I can also not guarantee your Catalinas will print, your cashier will smile at you while you check out, or that your shopping cart won’t have a broken wheel. But I CAN teach you how to save money :)
And, also, as always, a huge thanks to the many readers who posted and emailed deals that made it into today’s Deals of the Week! We’re all in this together, and I sincerely appreciate everyone who spots and passes along good deals that we can all enjoy :) Thank you… to YOU!
* All You magazine: If you like coupons, you will probably really enjoy it. It’s an inexpensive magazine ($2.49 an issue) that is absolutely filled with coupons each month — typically $50-$100 worth per issue! Subscribing via the pink banner on the right drops the price to $1.67 per issue. Depending on the values, if you use 2 or 3 coupons alone from each issue, you’ve recouped the cost of the magazine, and you’re on your way to even bigger savings.)

Also, in the Dominick’s ad that was mailed last Tuesday, inside there was a separate ad for deals starting on the 26th and ending the 31st. I didn’t realize it the first time around but when I went to look back at something I noticed it.

Question?? I just came home from Meijer and the cashier told me I can’t buy the snapware container because they exceed the coupon value. That I can only use the one for the container costing $3.99 which is $0.99 not a bad deal in my book but I really like FREE. So is there anyway I can get them for free or what can I do since I have like 6 coupons left??? Thanks soo much I hope you guys had a great holiday

Went to Walgreens yesterday not planning on buying anything…until I saw a pre-lit 6ft Christmas tree just standing all by its lonesome. I asked the Walgreens associate if it was on sale too and she said yes. I came home with an already assembled pre-lit Christmas tree for only $5.
FYI I didn’t put up a Christmas tree because I thought my 10 month kitten (Pepa) would go crazy in the tree. Surprisingly she didn’t.

Went to jewel today, they have store coupons on some of the meat. Some packages are $4 off (hamburger), and there are some Stockman & Dakota that are buy 1 get one, like roast, steak or london. I got two roasts, ended up being just a tad over $3/lb.
Hmm, guess it’s in the online ad. Not a fabulous Jill price, but it keeps us out of a restaurant for dinner. :)
Now I’m off to double wrap my purchase for the freezer.
